  1. Thx! It was interesting on how many times the up ref (?) was also overruled when watching PYs match yesterday.
  2. I'm all for the electric line calling! How many over rules do the players get til they lose a point? How many challenges are allowed?
  3. I'm on the fence in attending on Monday. I work plus I'll be driving in from Grapevine. I was thinking of going Tuesday if Texas makes it but with the weather forecast being what it is, I might be stuck at home watching it online on YouTube. I do plan on attending the TCU match in Ft Worth and the NCAAs in Waco!
  4. That sure was a nail biter! I got tired of hearing "Let's go Wahoos." Nice of Texas to quiet that down. Btw, SMU has a nice venue. Glad I attended.
  5. Definitely give Pierre a shot at line 2. He's been doing great these past few matches. It was a fun environment being there today. Some matches were closer than I would have liked them to be. A&M should be stronger once their transfers get cleared to play, according to my brother.
  6. Are there no more General Admissions tickets available for Friday night at the mlb.tickets.com website? I'm getting "This event is not on sale." However, Saturday, Sunday, and the tournament pass are still available.
  7. The promotions and giveaways plus the theme nights and community nights were published today. No UT promotions so I'm hoping it gets added in the future. Got to say, I want a jersey night like the other schools that are scheduled.
  8. Texas gets the #3 seed and plays #6 seed A&M on Friday at SMU in the NCAA Indoor Championships. These seeds are just for the 1 side of the bracket.
  9. Hi UT Tennis Fan, In front of over 600 people at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center last night, we defeated TCU by the score of 4-1 in a rematch of last season's national championship After a dramatic comeback win in doubles, we got off to a quick start in singles and maintained our edge all the way through. At the time of the clinch we had an early lead in the 3rd set at #5 singles, and were up 5-0 in the first set at #6 singles. For a detailed recap of the big win over TCU, please click on this press release. Next up for us is a trip up to Dallas for the National Team Indoor Championship, which begins on Friday. I will be back in touch with more details once the draw and schedule are released. Thanks for all of your suppor!. Enjoy your Superbowl Sunday! Hook'em! Sincerely, Bruce Berque
  10. Just realizing that Texas plays 5 Freshmen in doubles.
  11. Texas has the 2nd ranked 2025 recruiting class! Elizabeth Ionescu is the 7th ranked player in the class of '26 but will enroll early to play in the Spring of '26. Christasha McNeil is the 8th ranked player in the class of '25.
  12. I noticed that the #1 ranked 2026 player, Iva Jovic, is now following the TX Women's Tennis instagram page and she gave a great reaction to Keaton Hance's recent Tx commitment. Sounds very promising!
  13. Off topic.... Ex-Texas player, Lulu Sun, signs a sponsorship with Fila! https://www.si.com/onsi/serve/style/fila-announces-sponsorship-of-wta-star-lulu-sun
  14. Hi UT Tennis Fan, Happy New Year! Our team is back on campus, and we started training together a few days ago. I have been very happy to see that everyone came back in good health, in good shape, and in good tennis form. We are excited that two new players are joining us as freshmen this semester, Sebastian Eriksson (Sweden) and Oliver Ojakaar (Estonia). They are both outstanding players, and great fits with our culture. Although we lost 6 seniors to graduation and 1 to professional tennis from last year's team, we have been ranked the #1 ranked team in the country in the preseason poll. This is now the 4th season out of the last 7 that we have risen to the top spot in the rankings. While we recognize that it is the journey and where we finish that are more important than where we start, it is still nice recognition for the program. Our dual match season opens this weekend with matches against Lamar (1 pm on Saturday) and Abilene Christian (11 am on Sunday). Although we have had a cold snap the last few days, the weather should be nice this weekend, and we expect both matches to be outside at the Texas Tennis Center. Our 3rd match of the season will be on Wednesday, January 15 at 4pm against UTRGV. All matches will be streamed live, and you can find the links here. In news of our recent graduates, Eliot Spizzirri won his first tournament of 2025, picking up the doubles title at the $150k Challenger in Canberra, Australia. This week he picked up a singles win over #205 Alexander Blockx in the first round of The Australian Open qualifying. Micah Braswell also picked up a good win yesterday at a Challenger in Portugal, taking out #243 Beibit Zhukayev. Cleeve Harper is in the 2nd round of doubles in Portugal, and progressing fast through the doubles rankings. Hope to see you at the courts this weekend. Hook'em! Sincerely, Bruce Berque

  19. This is what I'm hoping for! I still believe the current team will still be competitive without Maya.
