  1. I’ve seen recommendations for Elote several times and from independent sources. I look at their menu and don’t particularly see anything I can’t get in Houston or Austin. And they don’t have any specific vegan options. I get that the location is different and unique but Southwestern/Mexican is pretty well represented across Texas and New Mexico. What am I missing?
  2. I would have probably been one of those guys earlier in my life.
  3. So far, we booked a guided sunset tour and the IMAX which are later in the day (obvs). If it was just me, I would start with the 12 hour raft trip down the Colorado, followed by the hike up, and camp out on the ledge, but it's not. We can't go anywhere that's more than 30 minutes from a bathroom. So I'm working within those constraints. My brother just came back from GCNP, and said if he had it to do over again, he would go to the bottom. Binoculars is a great tip that I might not have considered, I'll add them to my list. Also looking at a wide angle lens for my camera to see if I can better capture the vista. We'll have a rental car, so will be mobile. Himalayan Grill is a good idea. We like Indian.
  4. That sounds delicious. I’m a carnivore. My wife is the vegan.
  5. Hell yeah, that was a great movie. Sean Young was hot. I meant Less Than Zero of course.
  6. Enjoyed About Last Night the most. No Way out, St Elmo’s Fire also solid Brat Pack.
  7. Cornish Pasty is a nice recommendation. That fits the bill.
  8. I’m sure there’s a GCNP thread somewhere but the search is borked up and I didn’t find it in the first seven pages. Wife and I are heading to Flagstaff in late September as a jumping off point to the Grand Canyon as well as Sedona and other stuff. My wife is not particularly a hiker nor a rafter nor an aviator. So what’s the best way to fully experience and see the Grand Canyon given those limitations? Any food recs in the area particularly Sedona (especially vegan)? We have an AirBnB in Flagstaff for four nights so can do some home cooking as well. Bring me your Surly knowledge.
  9. It would be pretty sweet to eliminate both the aggy softball and baseball teams.
  10. So are you saying Ann-Margaret is not coming?
  11. Checking in safe from Katy.
  12. We are a country of airline and Boeing lobbyists
  13. I think they released the video and noted that the detective didn’t follow procedure so that they have a plausible excuse to walk away from the charges. Should be done quickly. No way Scottie has to show up for an arraignment hearing.
  14. The multiple vortices moving around the central tornado are amazing to watch. Never seen that before.
  15. I mean he flips the bat when he draws a walk.
  16. Honestly disappointed in Singleton’s bat flip effort on the dinger.
  17. I honestly had this argument with a aggy buddy who had two engineering degrees.
  18. Bought this. Sounds very interesting.
