  1. What I wanted in my cruise experience: What I got:
  2. The need is bad. From WSJ: Ukraine’s Elite Snipers Fight Russians, Bullet by Bullet Stealthy assassins aim to sow chaos in enemy ranks by picking off commanders and key troops
  3. I don't know. That may be what the analytics say, but Yankees and Angels, two also-rans.
  4. Rangers thread over there is melting down. You hate to see it, but more than that, you love to see it.
  5. I've never been on a cruise, but I did have kids. When they were young (hell even now), it's tough to manage everybody's interests and find common ground to keep the peace all the time. I would assume that a cruise ship magnifies all that. My wife and I are looking forward to our trip to Seattle - just us, for the first time in 20+ years without kids. Hell my wife and I have different interests and levels of stamina, so everything is some kind of compromise.
  6. If this game doesn't have the feel that Texas can move the ball and score at will against Rice, well then...
  7. Wife's a Rice grad, so have some sympathies for their plight. It's always a little testy at our house when Texas/Rice is on. That said, we were at the 1994 game in the rain at Rice Stadium, and Shea Morenz couldn't complete a pass, so she has some eternal scoreboard.
  8. Wordle 798 2/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  9. Like a buddy of mine says - It’s safer in the back of the plane because the mountains are in front.
  10. My wife recently got new prescription glasses, both clear and sun glasses, and a nice case to carry them in. When she had them about three days, we drove to the coast, stopped at Starbucks for a bathroom break on the way. Back in the car she's trying to find her sunglasses - "I must have left them in the bathroom". Sure enough there they were. LATER THAT SAME DAY: We head to dinner, stopped at a grocery store to pick up some supplies, then on to the restaurant. "Where are my glasses?" They must be at the grocery store, "Would you go check?" Sure dear. No sign of the glasses. GONE, never turned up. Ordered a new pair exactly like the lost new pair. SMDH.
  11. You mean: aggy might win next year, or in the year 20___. as if aggy actually wins football games.
  12. In my defense the car is both insured and registered. She since got the sticker from the local office and it’s good now. Just pisses me off that the apt complex is in cahoots with a wrecker company to split the tow/recovery fees.
  13. I don’t know any of the details of this story but the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle. That’s why we pay the attorneys and the judge to figure it out. The court has responsibility to look after the rights of the person under conservatorship. It’ll be interesting for sure.
  14. Of course she threw away the note.
  15. My daughter (no pix) lives in a cheap starter apartment in a small Texas town where she works. She got a warning notice on the windshield of her car that the inspection sticker was expired and that her car may be towed. We paid the registration, had the inspection and everything, just hadn’t had an opportunity to put the sticker on, and it’s been a few months. Could have sent it to her, but really just forgot about it. Now, I’ve lived in Texas all my life and I’ve never heard of any government agency towing cars due to expired inspection stickers. What is this new bullshit? Is it a scam (this is my thought), or some new revenue stream for small municipalities? Help me Surly, you’re my only hope.
  16. Yes I’ve fallen victim to this particular conundrum also.
  17. My wife and I will be there as well.
  18. Agree on Gaidos. Best fresh seafood in the state.
