  1. Internet info popping up that the pilot flying was the 25 yr old low time first officer IOE with a senior Captain/instructor in the left seat monitoring.
  2. One of the pilot forums I follow mentions something about flap issues prior to landing. Might explain why the crew on the other plane were recording the landing.
  3. Most of us have been on a flight where the pilot just flew it right down onto the runway and you hit pretty hard, usually in gusting crosswinds. I don’t know anything about the robustness of the main landing gear on a CRJ, but they take a beating.
  4. Looks from the video that the pilot flying just dropped it onto the runway too hard and right gear failed.
  5. Entirely possible.
  6. This ability to just open the valves has always been attributed to the Saudis. I know back in petroleum engineering days on the 40 acres, we looked at typical west Texas reservoir structure and Middle East reservoir structure, and they (ME) were an order of magnitude larger and more apt to flow. I haven't studied it in detail or even big picture, but at some point in time even the Saudis' reservoirs have to deplete.
  7. Wall Street Journal says ALL passengers and crew evacuated.
  8. I sat across from Edwin Simmons in the Student health center in early spring semester of his freshman year. He was already wearing knee braces at that point, when we still had hope he was the next great UT running back.
  9. gunna have to get used to this new avatar.
  10. What about his time in Seattle? We just glossing over that?
  11. Need some Houston cheese enchilada recs up in here.
  12. His name is misspelled on the screen graphic.
  13. I'm ready to invest in crypto. I would like to increase my investment by 100X. Would someone kindly direct me to the up and coming crypto currency that I may invest my life savings into?
  14. It's actually unbelievable unfathomable where we and the world would be now if not for the US shale boom beginning in the Barnett in the 90's.
  15. So does total production fall off a cliff in the Permian or peak and start a long slow decline over the next 20 years? Has it peaked already? I mean, that's the age old question.
  16. This is the answer.
  17. But what about the third quarter?
  18. Brees
  19. Fired in slow motion?

    Getting old sucks

How long do you wait before having the other eye done? (Assume you don’t have both done at the same time)
  21. Don’t stay at the Best Western in Clayton NM. It’s about 75 yds from the railroad tracks, but only 10-12 trains a night that go through there.
  22. Who we talking about again?
  23. I’ll put on my “olds” hat, but to me, in my paradigm college football is a fall sport and ends around the holidays. That’s just the way it’s always been. So to have three rounds of games beginning on Jan 1 feels wrong. College football playoffs and pro football playoffs don’t belong adjacent to each other. When we move into January and try to recover physically, financially, spiritually from the run up to the holidays, and new budgets and annual goals kick off at work, etc., the celebration aspect of the end of college football just feels out of place.
  24. Great video. There’s a TD in the first few against the Panthers where he drives the defender 5 yards into the end zone. I like.
  25. I’ll be honest I was apathetic about the games by the semifinals round even though Texas was playing. Fatigued. 17 games is too many in college football.
