  2. but, I got #3 right on that French 101 test in 1992! Should have brought my average up to 70.1%!!!
  3. Will be in town on Tuesday next week. Will it be hot, LOL? Coming from Houston, by the way.
  4. If he's unidentified, how do they know that he's 43 yrs old?
  5. I was cleaning out a corner of a closet yesterday afternoon, opened an old leather satchel I used to use, and found all my old expense reports from five companies and 25 years ago. I feel like I’m becoming an old.
  6. Wordle 765 3/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟨🟨⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 haven’t posted my Wordle in a while. Lucky guess today.
  7. Cool. Looks like we’re good.
  8. They're coming for you next, John Sharp.
  9. Read John Nova Lomax's work (aka Maybe A Coordinator)
  10. My sister has been after my mom to move for a few years. House is too big for one person, upkeep is a hassle/too much to handle, maintenance needs done, etc. I'm sure one of the road blocks for my mom is this closet.
  11. Not to belabor this point, but let me belabor this point. You're correct that the article doesn't state who initiated the departure of the interim dean. It could very well be the dean resigned in protest because they treated Ms. McElroy unfairly. It could also be that he didn't complete his full due diligence on the hire in the first place, including making sure that the approval by the Board of Regents was assured, prior to making an offer, then looks like a clown for rescinding the offer twice, as well as a conflict of interest in finally advising Ms. McElroy to stay at Texas. Not defending aggy in any way here, it's just a bad look all around. A similar thing happened to Bill Powers at the end of his UT presidency. He was forced to resign, but stayed with the University as professor in the law school. Make no mistake though, he lost his high profile job.
  12. My dad passed away about 15 years ago. He and my mom had his/hers walk-in closets in their bedroom. My dad's closet is still left as if he went in there this morning and got dressed. All his clothes still hanging on the rods, shoes on the floor, odd boxes of stuff left in there. She just leaves the door closed. I guess one of these days we'll have to get in there and clean it out (when we clean hers out).
  13. Fired may be the wrong term, "asked to leave your position" not at your discretion, is effectively the same thing as a football coach who is "reassigned" to a different role in the AD.
  14. "Resigned effective end of the month" usually means fired.
  15. More fallout at aggy for the Journalism fiasco. https://www.texastribune.org/2023/07/17/tamu-dean-resigns-kathleen-mcelroy/?utm_source=articleshare&utm_medium=social
  16. I believe it does. The curb was kind of in the road, and it’s certainly hazardous. My wife’s car had a slow leak, so I took it to Discount on the morning we were leaving on a trip. They put a new tire on it under the road hazard warranty. I drove back home, parked and we started loading up for the trip. By the time we left on the trip, the low tire pressure light was on again. I had picked up a nail in the sidewall of the new tire literally in the mile and a half from the store to my house, and they replaced the same tire again at no cost.
  17. No kidding, he ought to consider trashing whatever printer he is using and get one of the inkwell printers. Canon Pixma or equal. It’ll cut his printer expenses by 75%.
  18. So I mean like, which airport?
  19. Our older house in old Littleton had a swamp cooler circa 2002/2003. Worked well except on the hottest of hot days.
  20. This gotdang soundtrack from ESPN drives me crazy when they turn up the volume on every positive play for the Angels.
  21. So good. All my life.
  22. Coming here to post this. My family knows Kathleen through her work in the Moody College and we think quite highly of her and how she treated our daughter and family during her tenure as director of the J-School. So ugly for aggy and completely typical.
  23. Those are some working clothes.
  24. $9.00 one way from Santa Fe to ABQ. Pretty cheap.
  25. This is a great thread and timely for my wife and me. Kids are done with college, we can’t permanently leave Houston for reasons, but would love a place in a different climate than hot and wet. Great thoughtful discussions on real issues like water and healthcare.
