  1. Buddy of mine from the CG was on a boat doing drug interdiction in Colombia.
  2. I’ll be honest, the first time the SpaceX crew ship lifted off, I thought the exact same thing. Kinda still do.
  3. I'd have to clear space in order to add another insulated cup to my collection anyway. I think the shark has been jumped now in my need for more insulated cups.
  4. I showed up at the Houston meetup at the BBQ place to pick up my RTIC cup, and @RGBIII forgot about it.
  5. The Onion is brutal.
  6. Oh I get it. People are way more interested in the hubris of some billionaires who FAFO'd than the desperate struggle of the downtrodden. WAY more world resources looking for those dudes.
  7. I'm as guilty as everybody.
  8. I'll just leave this here, and no CR, but a whole boatload of folks went down in the Mediterranean, and I didn't notice a 10-page thread on that incident. Just a comment on what we as a people want to focus on.
  9. Going to be interesting what all comes out of the woodwork as this deal is post mortemed. The dude that got fired who wouldn’t certify the sub probably has an NDA - hope he got paid well for that. He could make way more with the book rights.
  10. You mean Telluride or Aspen?
  11. But…but…but, they signed a waiver!
  12. For reference, the Titanic is estimated to sit on the ocean floor at a depth of nearly 13,000 feet. Paying passengers wouldn’t know or be informed about Lochridge’s concerns, according to his complaints. They also wouldn’t be informed “that hazardous flammable materials were being used within the submersible.” Lochridge expressed concerns about the Titan again. But OceanGate didn’t address those concerns, and Lockridge was fired. OceanGate may need to lawyer up.
  13. That's shocking to look at. Nothing that thing is built of looks to me like "withstand a million pounds of pressure". I build shit that withstands thousands of pounds of pressure, and it's thick AF. Possible those dudes went down, and with no warning whatsoever, the whole thing simply was no more.
  14. A buddy of mine took this. I sat in it a couple times after a few beers at the Posse. Pretty sure I could have passed the final without ever going to class. sorry it’s gone.
  15. Hey, cool. My brother spent 3 or 4 years doing the same thing in mid-late '80's. Drums. Now he can't hear shit.
  16. I heard it also. Don't guess I've ever heard the full text before. The listing of a bunch of Louisiana parishes that were not affected (non rebelling) was interesting. Didn't know that. Some of the enforcement of the proclamation are still a little tepid in the 21st century.
  17. Not on the island, but looking at the various beach cams, looks like the sargasso is on the lighter side. Like I don't see huge piles of it on the beach, but just a light layer at the high tide mark.
  18. Murderers Row
  19. I ordered a bottle of the Frey Ranch Rye. We’ll see how it is. I’ve never had alcohol shipped to me in Texas before so there is the novelty factor and I like their story on their website. So I’m a sucker.
  20. Lake Charles?
  21. Yes I also know about this. Similar to the “rolling coal” incident in Waller, there is a lot of noise for there to be more investigation. A lot of feeling that it’s being swept under the rug.
  22. All this pales compared to Bush/IAH. You can’t even get to the parking lot.
  23. Is it automatically a given that the team goes all in at the deadline to win the WS this year? Are World Series titles like the time value of money, meaning now is better than future? Do you mortgage the future to win back to back?
