  1. Glad its going well. Hang in there. Hopefully tinnitus subsides, Ive dealt with it in the past. Can wear you down.
  2. Hows treatment going?
  3. They're gonna blame it all on Venables and then reality is gonna hit during the next guy.
  4. I think they are better than OU and there's a reasonable chance (still less than 50%) they come into Austin with a trip to the SECCG on the line. I think we will be out of it after a loss to UGA, but that we will finish this season by completely rocking them defensively like last year.
  5. They did what they could in the offseason. They are limited. It's going to be a joy watching the rest of this season play out for them. I think we get Brad Vegetables one more time.
  6. So jealous of anyone going to this game. Lexington is great.
  7. We got Swamped in that game too. They were saving up for Arch just as others will. Very difficult place to play when they're on the same page. My hope is that the team saw Arch give it everything he had in the face of a very hostile environment and ruthless media. They played like it against OU, but it remains to be seen if that was the rivalry game effect or if the team as a whole is ready to play with their hair on fire.
  8. UF was a program wide failure that very well could cost us the playoffs. The question is will we see another grenade go off like that in a game we are favored in. I'm personally not convinced we are ready to take care of business yet. I think we are about to see the wheels come off for OU.
  9. These next three weeks are huge. I don't believe we are close to where we need to be yet, this team still has to go out and decide who they are. With a full octane effort we can smother UK and MSU, and should have the horses to outlast Vanderbilt. That gets us into the bye week with everything on the table for us going into Georgia. If we fool ourselves into thinking we can just show up to a single one of these games and win on the road, we will see another Florida.
  10. HEISMAN LOCK.
  11. He's still very green in making pre snap reads, its what has disappointed me the most about him this season. Frankly, I dont think Sark and other coaches did him a favor by telling everyone who would listen how mature he was as a student of the game, how great he is in the film room, how advanced he is based on the number of snaps he's gotten etc. I suppose its my fault for falling for it, but Arch is going to need the entire season to really start seeing the field. Yes, it doesnt help anything at all when you have 2-3 seconds before getting smoked, but there have been plenty of instances this season where the proper pre snap read should give him the information he needs to act decisively once the ball hits his hand, and he just isnt seeing it. It will come but he's gonna need the whole season.
  12. Its really interesting to me seeing so many of our fans and national talking heads talking about how this was a turning point for Arch. While I don't totally disagree, I think I'd label it differently. To me, the turning point was against Florida where he seemed to take on a different level of effort and leadership. That was about the toughest situation you could put a QB in, and he fought hard on every snap all the way to the end. He had better body language and made a couple of plays that gave you a glimpse of a player with something extra. I am sure his team saw this during the film rewatch. This OU game felt like the rest of the team knew they had a QB who leads from the front. Arch got punished against UF and kept asking for more. He has a really long way to go to fulfill his potential, but that was the first time I felt like this was his team. Thats such a good sign. This season is about building week to week.
  13. It was pretty shockingly bad across the board. Game plan, coaching, effort, execution, leadership. I bet its not the last time we see all of these things this year, the question is will we see it this week. Would be a massive indictment of the staff if we do.
  14. I do think its possible we played like shit in multiple spots against UF. Its a really really hard place to play, and I dont think its an overstatement to say playing against a Manning gets their blood going. It was rocking. I didnt go but my buddy told me it was as intimidating as anywhere hes been. Sometimes you fly halfway across the country and get buzzsawed. Of course I believe there are multiple units that have season long deficiencies, especially on the left interior of the o line. I also agree its looking like we might not get the production we paid for on the interior d line. However I believe with this line, Vegas is telling us: 1. They dont think we will play as bad in the RRS as we did in the swamp. 2. OU has plenty of flaws across the roster. 3. We still have plenty of athletes, especially on defense.
  15. I still think we have a good, not great defense.
  16. Putting Brooks in at LG last week was just throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks. Stroh was getting abused so bad there was no downside in trying it. Let’s see how he looks after a week of preparation.
  17. I really think its hard to imagine our o line playing worse than they did at UF. For me, the whole game comes down to that unit and how they perform. If they played even 10% better against UF, how would that have impacted that game? Cotton Bowl will be friendlier for them, they're a wounded animal, they hear the media attention and are playing with a chip on their shoulder, whatever. It really comes down to can I actually believe that our o line is as bad as they look, or can I buy into a scenario where they possibly play at least 10-15% better in a hyped rivalry game. I still cant decide, I think I just have a running reel of Stroh getting embarrassed running in my head and I cant think clearly.
  18. Yep. I can’t believe our current situation.
  19. I don’t disagree with much of what you’re saying. I know the business model. I brought up NIL because it was an extremely difficult sell for our donors, and Bobby was an adult in the room that helped confirm to them that yes, this is the direction college football is going, and no, these specific things are no longer against the rules. I guess in some cosmic sense if he wasn’t there doing that, someone else could’ve filled the role. Instead, I like to give him credit for doing a good job of helping this program arrive at our NIL destination as soon as possible. We didn’t hit the NIL money train by accident. People had to have the conversations, do the work, and solve the problems. It was messy and donors all over the country didn’t like it. Texas is a success story in the regard, and Bobby was one of the people who made a serious contribution towards getting us there. I couldn’t care less if he’s making his 9.95 from it. He’s vastly different from chip and Ketchum who hurt this program all the time for their own self interests.
  20. I never said any of that. He’s an information guy and I think his business and his passion for UT put him in a unique position to deliver good and relevant information to the people we are all hoping will make Texas what it should be. To make things work in this new landscape, information is at a premium, and it moves at a really fast pace. There’s no way to keep up with it all unless you’re doing it full time. To do that, you have to monetize your time, and Bobby has proven he knows how to do that time and time again. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say he’s been one of the most successful people in the college sports information/entertainment space. And he’s unabashedly pro Texas football. I think that’s super valuable to the program.
  21. If Billy Liucci is as beneficial to A&M as Bobby is to us then Billy deserves their fans admiration and the money that comes with it.
  22. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’d bet good money you would be wrong. I fucking love the guy for what he does for Texas football. How about the guys behind this website? Burnt Ends didn’t just appear out of thin air. They wanted to get in the fight and they did, and now look. TE room looks pretty good to me.
  23. He understands the college football landscape extremely well and he uses that understanding to help our program how he can. He loves UT to the point that he covers it for a living, and so I appreciate that he wants good things for UT sports because it’s good for him. It has been very surprising to me in the past to find out major college football programs act on bad or inadequate information. Bobby gives our program what I believe to be the most honest information he has. I really like Gerry too. They are college football fans and they want Texas to be good at college football. As far as what they do behind the scenes, I’ve only seen little bits and pieces, but I’ve seen enough to place Bobby especially in the category of someone who uses action, not words, to try to make good things happen for Texas football. I consider him a great asset to the program, and also a die hard fan who loves this school. In my book, he’s a “longhorn legend”.
  24. If there's anywhere I'm not going to direct my anger, its at Bobby. He's a part of the answer behind the scenes if there ever was one. Not gonna blame him for going the optimist route, it benefits his business.
  25. This is where I am. I think my head is kind of locked up because its shocking to me we could suck this bad with all this money at play. It makes the possibilities for fireworks inside the program likely. I went from thinking we would sneak into the playoff to doubting we can even get to 8-4. Its not like we barely lost to ohio state, blew out our three cupcakes, and lost a heartbreaker at the swamp against some good competition. The whole picture thats been painted so far is undeniable, there are multiple position groups on fire and its shell shocked our QB who already had an epic amount of pressure on him. This is a dark timeline so far this season. Doesn't feel like we are done bleeding, feels like we are just getting started.
