  1. Status quo is obviously not the answer - agreed. But why not shift some of the focus to the OL? We all know the field gets shorter in the RZ, but the OL is struggling to displace DL when it's needed most. Is it scheme? Execution? Both or something else? Point of the article was how shitty the run game becomes in the RZ. Is adding an extra runner (Arch) the answer with the OL not moving people?
  2. Cross posting from the game week thread... I only read/posted this article because it was not written by you know who... very interesting take with actual facts. Responses should be fun. Hook 'em. https://www.burntorangenation.com/2024/12/19/24324822/quinn-ewers-arch-manning-red-zone-texas-longhorns

  4. Ah - makes really good sense - thanks for the info!
  5. Question (cross-posted from gameday thread - figured this was a good place to ask it): Does PK not run a bunch of twists and stunts? If not, how can the OL prep for stuff like if they don't see it very often in practice? Same for blitzes. Obviously not calling out the D - they've been awesome! Just curious how our OL can get better if they don't see it live in practice very often. I know with upcoming dual-threat QBs that the D will face, offense has someone in practice simulate that. But how do you simulate what's confusing the OL if the D line isn't about those concepts?

  7. Once again, we just can’t get out of our own fucking way. Penalties and turnovers. Clean that shit up and these games are blowouts. It’s not that hard. Of course, all I have to do is sit here watch, drink, and get high, soooo…
  8. Does anyone else get a sick feeling every time he drops back to pass??
  9. I'm sure this has been stated... but we don't need an all-world QB with the defense it looks like we have. We just need someone who can manage the game, not turn it over and make a play down field once in a while. With the amount of offensive weapons, it really shouldn't be this hard. Oh - and the OL needs to play better (and I think they will - I think they were shocked in the first half - haven't seen that level of talent and on a DL in a while). Hook em!
  10. Obviously one game won’t derail recruiting. The thing I’m most disappointed in is that I thought our days of getting absolutely dominated on eitherLOS were over.
  11. Great fucking season! This stings because we played like shit (mostly) and still had a chance to win. Proud of our team! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 Oh - and that’s difference b/t a QB that’s played in college for 6 yrs and one that hasn’t completed a full healthy season.
  12. Maybe there is something to having a quarterback who’s been playing for 6 yrs.
