  1. I mean, the statement that SCOTUS is short on legal analysis gives it away that your analysis is irrelevant.
  2. Both sides, guys, both sides!
  3. I believe he's got a Master's in political science or something related.
  4. I highly recommend The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Winchester '73 as a Jimmy Stewart Western double feature.
  5. Don't get me wrong, if you can separate their racism from the art (often difficult because of the racism in the art), Wayne and Ford made some iconic fucking Westerns. But Jimmy Stewart and Randolph Scott both made better ones.
  6. Public shaming doesn't work anymore because it barely ever actually happens any more (because you might get shot)
  7. Here is the headline on the website's version of the article. Dulled the edges a lot imo
  8. There is a gulf of degree between "Mass Deportations Now" and "You are never too small to make a big difference"
  9. Why the hell wouldn't it be?
  10. I really applaud how well you've changed your posting style for the most part, but every now and then the ol' wacky tobacc-y slips through lol
  11. At this point that says something about her.
  12. This is a safe space, friend. ❤️
  13. AEW is downright woke compared to WWE. Their current champion, iirc, is a huge proponent of unions and workers rights and isn't afraid to talk about it. Their queer wrestlers are openly queer (seriously, their women's division is dyke heaven full of dykes) and they do pride stuff every year (dunno about this year tbh--I don't pay super close attention because they do too many flips to keep my interest for long most of the time).
  14. I watched the UT/OSU game on mute while playing Balatro and it was the best viewing experience I've had in years.
  15. Agreed. He's like fine
  16. Blasphemous
  17. Not if their stats have anything to say about it
  18. I mean, not dead from like entropy but that fucker could have a stoke at any moment.
  19. There is no way to fight that. It's like when my father responding to me with "Joe Biden is a rapist" when I pointed out what Trump is.
  20. That seems low
  21. And it only took almost three years to get there!
  22. Fair enough. I appreciate you sharing. The majority of my contact with the homeless is with people who are very new to it and in Austin, and I was being very serious about the difference in response I would get using the respective word. Perhaps there is a contextual difference there. Regardless, thanks.
  23. I don't disagree with either of you about the term, but it takes very little effort to switch terms. I definitely still use homeless at times without thinking, but I try to say unhoused because I've had to ask plenty of people to their faces whether or not they have a roof over their heads, and I get a lot fewer hurt and wounded looks with unhoused than I do homeless. Like I said, it offers more dignity to those affected, and with our heartless and cruel society, it is down to us as individuals to help those people maintain their dignity. Switching a word as often as I can is a pretty effortless way to help
