  1. Really underrated imo
  2. I doubt that ever comes down, but I believe the statue was vandalized with a "#metoo" graffiti at the height of the era.
  3. Comparing Trump's actions to ballot box 13 is so asinine. Which tracks, I guess
  4. @Bama Chick come back 😭
  5. I don't really disagree with your first sentence to any important degree, and I am a multiple-times survivor of sexual assault/rape. As regards to the second, I'm glad that vets who have experienced sexual assault or rape while in the military have one less potential reminder of how casually society writ large treats consent. Are we still shitty and hypocritical with our morals as a country? Of course. But I find it hard to get upset, care, or even really spend time thinking about a small positive step forward. My last post was more of a joke than anything else, but it's ridiculous that the latest iteration of GRU is still around
  6. No one is focused on anything to do with the photo except right wing chud social media accounts that are amplifying it to idiots like GRU who then try to gin up anger elsewhere online. It was a slight change in policy that is inconsequential to the majority of people. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed. I thought this place was toxic but I'm the only one to neg to GRU for his gross bullshit? Smh
  7. Maybe, with the horrifying amount of sexual violence that women experience within the military, it's not that big of a deal to take copies of an almost 80 year old photo quietly off the wall.
  8. SIAP HP wants you to pay up to $36/month to rent a printer that it monitors

I don't follow? Gay men have the same hookup culture, for the most part, anywhere in the country that I plan on living in. But moving is expensive and takes a long time.
  11. I physically feel Mitt's discomfort everytime I see this pic. And fuck Mitt, ftr.
  12. May December is incredible. Natalie Portman's monologue was one of the best single scenes in a movie last year.
  13. I was going to quote my post but I'm not sure how to do that interthreads on a phone, so I'll just c/p: "Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past." - Sartre Substitute your bigotry of choice and it almost certainly still applies. Y'all are wasting your time engaging.

Gay hookup culture is extremely annoying from a public health perspective since cis dudes seem to think that PrEP covers -all- the STIs and not just HIV, so fuck ever wearing a condom, but at least it gives me solid job security. I need to visit Ptown again.
  17. It's fucking embarrassing that anyone is actually engaging you at all You're a racist piece of shit. That's all I have to contribute
  18. Drive-Away Dolls The cowards at Universal/Focus forced Ethan Coen and his lesbian wife to "officially" change the title to the above, but they manage to get the original title, Drive-Away Dykes, front and center in the end. I really liked it a lot, but it's definitely not for everyone and isn't perfect in it's own right either. Kind of a vibe between Raising Arizona and Burn After Reading with a little bit of Fargo thrown in. Pedro Pascal and Matt Damon both have fantastic cameo roles. It's a tight, like, 84 minutes so it's hard to give everyone a sufficient amount of time to shine, but there's still a lot to love in the movie. Taking Joel's The Tragedy of Macbeth and Ethan/Tricia Cooke's Drive-Away Dykes is really illustrative of how the Coen's achieve their (usually superior) symbiotic films. I hope they make another film or two together, but if they just do solo (or husband/wife) movies from here on, I can't begrudge them too much. (ETA: I get why Universal forced the change, obv, but as a dyke, I love the original title way more)
  19. You can't reckon with American classism without reckoning with American racism, sorry.
