  1. Dauer apparently just passed away. RIP, coach
  2. Oh damn, it is on. This is Bregman's fault.
  3. Not a Mavs fan, but the word "generational" is being vastly overused in sports media. Generational is once every 20 years.
  4. I would argue that we've had a guy there who sucks for some time.
  5. You can't go wrong giving a 31 year old a 6 year contract!!!
  6. Good to see Carlos Lee is still doing well.
  7. Altuve's agent is Boras, also. The contrast between him and Bregman is stark. Hope Bregman resigns at a reasonable price, but hope we move on soon enough to get OF help.
  8. Not too late to switch from Daikin to Toto
  9. True story--Luhnow's rejection letter was just "You're a cunt" on Astros letterhead
  10. I hope that some of the posters on clutchfans are logging on from prison because they should not be allowed to participate in society.
  11. I'd like to see an analysis of Keith Law as a prospect ranker on a 20-80 scale
  12. Free agents the Dodgers signed between 10am and 2pm yesterday
  13. Tyler Ivey and Forrest Whitley on the same MLB roster would be like seeing Elvis riding the Loch Ness monster. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6050949/2025/01/13/astros-tyler-ivey-comeback/
  14. Pujols is the manager. Montero let him experience being an Astros fan in 2005.
  15. Always loved Bill Doran. Hatcher, too. Felt like Pete Harnisch would be a good guy in a fight.
  16. I would give Bregman one day and then move on
  17. Bregman is never going to be loved like Altuve
  18. Law has Cam Smith at 43, no Melton Smith was a draft-eligible sophomore last year who reworked his swing and his body to surge to a .387/.488/.654 line in his sophomore year at Florida State, raising his average by over 100 points, and landing with the Cubs at the No. 13 pick. He then had the best pro debut of any prospect in the draft, hitting .313/.396/.609 across three levels and finishing up in Double A. That ended his Cubs career, as they traded him to Houston in the Kyle Tucker deal this offseason, immediately making him the Astros’ No. 1 prospect. Smith’s swing gets the bat to the zone quickly, and he makes a lot of very hard contact, topping out over 115 mph in the spring for Florida State, and the Cubs already managed to get him to lift the ball more often to turn that loud contact into more power. He’s only played third base since signing and that’s his best long-term outcome; that seemed like wishful thinking as recently as 2023, but his improved conditioning gives him a chance to stay there, with first base or right field also possibilities. He looks like he can flat-out hit, and might get to 25 homers too. If he does that as a third baseman, he might be able to fill Alex Bregman’s shoes in Houston and make a few All-Star teams. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6078454/2025/01/27/top-100-mlb-prospects-2025-keith-law/
  19. What if two of the TJs are each of LMJ's arms?
  20. Thanks for the great memories, Pressly.
  21. Have you played outfield before? Altuve: Have you seen me? https://x.com/lorenzodelgad0/status/1883243806570783084/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1883243806570783084&currentTweetUser=lorenzodelgad0
  22. I worship him and am so pissed that he isn't universally beloved.
  23. If Pressly accepts the trade, thank you for a great career here. They knew he wasn't optimized in Minnesota, and he is an Astros hero. Or welcome back, can't wait for you to have a great 2025!
  24. Pena is a good defensive SS, Walker is a good defensive 1B, and Bregman is a good defensive 3B. If Bregman comes back, it'd be nuts to move any of them.
