  1. Part of what made college football unique compared to the NFL was that before NIL, it seemed like the players had a genuine attachment to the programs that they played for. NIL has taken that away now and has basically brought free agency into college football.
  2. It sounds like it's because he thinks he can get more money elsewhere.
  3. NIL is turning college into a game of the highest bidder. It's basically a watered down NFL right now. The sport will eventually lose its charm as these trends continue.
  4. Promising people who aren't even old enough to legally buy a drink yet millions of dollars makes no sense to me. This situation further validates why I don't think it's a good idea.
  5. They haven't led to playoff wins. As of right now, they're not even leading to regular season wins.
  6. Most of Dak's stats come from when the game is out of reach. When the game is close, he is no where to be found. While the defense is awful, it would be nice if Dak showed up earlier in games instead of waiting until the 4th quarter to do so.
  7. That game looked like the 2013 Ole Miss game at DKR. Mack probably needs to hang it up.
  8. Placing the blame for an entire team's issues on a 20-year-old (Arnold) is certainly a choice. Venables is running out of people to blame.
  9. Mississippi State may be even worse than ULM with Shapen being out.
  10. The Cowboys' front seven is non-existent. To win in the NFL playoffs, defenses must be able to stop the run.
  11. OU was getting decent pressure on the Tennessee QB in the 1st half, which caused him to look rushed and inconsistent and even lose a fumble. I think that caused them to play it safe in the 2nd half, especially after Arnold's turnovers gave them a decent lead to work with. Dual-threat QBs like Hawkins are much harder to defend because they tend to keep defenses honest. They were very one dimensional with Arnold in the game.
  12. I'm glad that OU's offensive staff appears to be incompetent because if they had played that Hawkins guy earlier in the game, they very well could have won. I'm still not sure after watching that game if either Tennessee is highly overrated or OU is much better than they were thought to be. The next few games will answer that question.
  13. Both Tennessee and Ohio State should have to play tougher competition before they get ranked as high as they currently are.
  14. I hope that they get just close enough to a shot at a playoff spot only for us to knock them out of contention at the end of the year. Texags would be crashed for days.
  15. That game looked like almost an exact repeat of last year's Packers game.
  16. I could end up being wrong, but I think that Tennessee is significantly overrated. Two of the three teams they've faced so far are FCS teams. Ole Miss also runs up the score on FCS teams only to get brought back down to earth when conference play starts. I know that they beat NC State, but go and look at NC State's other two games outside of Tennessee. It wouldn't surprise me if OU gives them a scare or even outright wins.
  17. It was really impressive how unfazed the team was playing in a massive hostile environment like that. I think that last year's win in Tuscaloosa gave the team a lot of confidence to play in such an environment.
  18. I can't wait to read the Texags meltdown threads after we beat them this year. They never disappoint in their comedic value.
  19. All of these FSU fans acting like the system is against them need to shut up and enjoy the Orange Bowl. They don't care to remember that they've been controversially given the benefit of doubt plenty of times. In 1993, they were awarded a natty over a Notre Dame team with the same record that beat them head-to-head and an undefeated West Virginia team. In 2000, they got to play in the natty against OU over a Miami team with the same record that beat them head-to-head. In 2014, they got to play in the playoff despite playing an incredibly weak schedule and barely scraping by their opponents every week, while a conference champion TCU was left out. In other words, FSU should spare everyone of their sob story. The system has favored them many times, but it didn't this time, and they can't stand it.
  20. I think FSU is the odd-man out here. The committee will use their QB being out for the season against them. I think we're going to be the two or three seed with Bama getting in at four.
  21. Looks like that OU loss will keep us on the outside looking in. I don't think beating an 18th-ranked OSU will move the needle at all.
  22. It's been a while since we've easily won in Ames. I don't expect this one to be much different.

    9-1

I think most of us are thankful for 9-1, but we are also seeing a lot of the same inconsistencies pop up that resulted in us losing to OU. At the end of the day, it is survive and advance, and so far this team has done that.
  24. If Riley can't win in the Pac-12 with Caleb Williams at QB, I don't see him winning in the Big Ten without Caleb Williams.
