My comments were off. Let me clarify. Keep in mind I have a non-op that is 99% oil revenue that is entirely trucked. If an O&G company has an adequate gathering system / aggregation of contracts / takeaway capacity, their activities are largely independent of gathering, transpo, and marketing. The larger the company, the more likely youâre gonna have a marketing department to negotiate and administer midstream contracts. Itâs much more important for nat gas companies particularly in the Marcellus / Utica
Oil and Gas can be more broadly applied than I have said, but Iâm trying to prove a point here. When people who know what theyâre talking about speak colloquially about oil and gas companies, theyâre exclusively (100% of the time) talking about E&P firms. When they discuss midstream companies, theyâll call them just that or pipeline companies. They are absolutely not oil and gas companies. Neither are contract drilling rig companies, other service companies, frac companies, hot oil companies, refineries, petrochemical plants, or fucking gas stations.
