  1. What a bunch of fucking losers that we all already know they are. You’re the most storied pro basketball city ever, and you’re obsessed with a guy that didn’t work out. It is nuts that Boston sports fans are actually worse than Philly fans, and make NYC fans utterly tame.
  2. You’re anti-Gafford. I do agree Lively was more effective and better in the series, and a rangier defender getting to the perimeter, and Gafford just wasn’t right against OKC. But Towns posed the same threat and Gafford played GREAT that whole series averaging 11, 6 and 3 (blocks). Also, this. KP by himself, even guarded by Gafford, doesn’t concern me at all. If KP gets hot, it happens.
  3. Yeah he was awful against Holmgren. Come on man. Are our bigs (both) susceptible to a hot shooting KP? Yes. So what?
  4. Yes they will. I mean I guess the idea has merit, but we are an excellent defensive team, and that includes Luka. Yes, Luka is a plus defender. If he is worn out, it’d be a change from the past series where they tried the same shit and failed. Also if he’s worn out, Kyrie can take over. We have such a luxury it’s not fair. We have been the best team in hoops since the trade and that includes the Celtics. I see tremendous value in the odds. We may not win at all, but we are better than in ‘11, and facing an opponent that is slightly worse (maybe the same - hard to tell with garbage East).
  5. Nobody hates KP. Parsons is projecting himself onto KP. Nobody likes Parsons.
  6. Reductions in rates as we have seen over the last 40 years, or generally speaking, help working class people more. Why aren’t they buying these particular homes? Because the homes that are investment properties were not ones lower earners could afford, by and large. Of course that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy the longer this cycle has played out. This isn’t the problem you think it is. They are two different issues you’re trying to morph into one to further your wealth gap point.
  7. Because lower rates (over the last 30 years that still includes today) have driven prices up to the point that working class people are priced out. That is a much bigger factor. There is no bogeyman conspiring to keep wages down. Smart people with capital are going to exploit their environment. If you want to stop this, you go back to 40 years ago with rates in the teens. But nobody wants that. This will continue, because rates aren’t going higher. Younger people will struggle.
  8. It’s bullshit because you said this “It is almost certainly because labor has captured a smaller and smaller percentage of our increases in productivity.” That’s not the reason for this proliferation. Is your reason a contributor to the issue? Not really. The real reason is that wealthy entities, be they investor people or true companies, have the capital to buy 2-100 (or more) homes and rent them out. If your point is a wealth gap point, it’s misplaced, and would be more apt in a discussion on why “labor” has to live in lower income areas or suburbs. Oh, and interest rates at or below 3% have certainly exacerbated this issue. The article, based on my skim, didn’t cover this distinction. It was written by someone looking for a headline that didn’t fully investigate all the facts.
  9. He can claim Caitlyn Clark thread victory. That and YouTubes of his jump shot.
  10. Nobody needed to hear you say you’re not really gay. Shut the fuck up dude.
  11. You’re being obtuse. The academic reason you gave for the problem is bullshit. What you explained to me like I’m your wife is obvious.
  12. Of course it won’t. lol. And, this has inflated the value of my home in HP for sure. This will never be unwound and it shouldn’t be. It should be limited to US citizens, I believe.
  13. Oh I understand what the problem is. I don’t know why you’re stating the obvious. You had some academic explanation for it, and I responded, because it’s bullshit. The reason for investors owning homes is for them to build wealth, period.
  14. Because people comprise corporations. And LLCs are “corporate” in your weird definition (and the articles). Tightly held husband/wife owned companies. I don’t understand what point you think it is you’re trying to make.
  15. It is almost certainly because people know how to build wealth.
  16. When I say “can’t wait”, it’s use of something called sarcasm. I can wait. It’s not entertaining, it is sad and it is inevitable.
  17. The outrage around a poorly written article and naïveté on full display in this thread are hilarious.
  18. No. That’s absurd - wtf are you thinking? The market is selling for nothing. If we’re anywhere near $70 in October, OPEC will extend cuts. Also, data center electricity demand will be supplied by nat gas, and with LNG takeaway increasing by 67% over the next 18 months, I’m all of the sudden very and immediately bullish on natty.
  19. Can’t wait to see the mental gymnastics of posters debating the appropriateness of Israel launching this attack.
  20. What idiotically political nonsense. Now do ‘23
  21. You are really bothered by this. Lol
