  1. 19 rushing yards in the half and Mullet Man Bad is the narrative?
  2. On the other hand. Statistics aside, this notion that Quinn compares unfavorably to other playoff QBs doesn't make any sense. I went to the Penn State game last week and Allar was not good. PSU won because of the weather, the crowd, and the SMU QB's public meltdown, but their guy engaged in some under-the-radar pussification. Later that night there was Nico, standing doe-eyed in the pocket before taking off and scrambling because either nobody was open downfield or he couldn't see them (and, if you've watched Tennessee this year, you know he'd overthrow an open receiver anyhow). Will Howard dropped dimes that game but we know the true story there. Kurtis Rourke spammed back-shoulder passes to no avail and air mailed an INT on his team's only real chance during competitive play. Riley Leonard can be fun but let's see his numbers against real competition. As long as we're marshaling talking heads to support our dug-in positions, McShay ranked Ewers second in terms of the playoff QBs he had the most confidence in, behind Gabriel. That seems reasonable to me when you consider who else is out there.
  3. Quinn threw for 358. Total yards: 389. How does subtraction work? A non-hysterical reaction would focus on Jeff Banks (fake punt), Bert Auburn (two missed kicks), and the OL (constantly getting blown up and unable to run block).
  4. Sark called three shots to the end zone on the last drive of regulation. Some lack of trust. The first one got blown up by the DL, second Wingo was blanketed, third there was nothing available.
  5. Gutted through it tonight. But see 44-yard dime to Golden tonight. Evaded pressure for a 26-yard scramble in the first quarter. Stepped up in the pocket to hit Helm on the run.
  6. Glad we're back to square one: relitigating a road win at Alabama to close out Nick Saban's tenure in which Ewers threw for 350. This might be the worst thread of any message board on the Internet.
  7. 23-6 as a starter if you exclude the 2022 Alabama game. On the other hand that game may be the best he ever looked. But I'll take the results.
  8. Remember, every individual play today is a referendum.
  9. Both but they have serious athletes on the perimeter and their OL is starting to not be abominable. Considering they were 1-11 and completely hopeless two years ago under Dorrell, one has to give credit.
  10. Injury sucks, but the silver lining is the timing with ULM, MSST, and bye upcoming.
  11. That Rees (presumably) was behind the Buchner transfer calls his judgment into serious question. I get they needed backup plans given Milroe's deficiencies, but that kid cannot play.
  12. Chip Patterson said after the game on Cover 3 that Worthy looked limited moving laterally in warmups. I suppose that would explain limited usage.
  13. There was pressure up the middle so it seemed like the throw had to come out earlier than Worthy expected.
  14. I can deny it. There's a good argument that Penix was robbed of the Heisman. He threw for 430 tonight in the second-best statistical performance by a quarterback in CFP history. Quinn probably beats him tonight if the CB doesn't make a great play on the ball at the end there, or if Jaydon Blue doesn't fumble, or the ball doesn't bounce off Muhammad's hands directly to Odunze. So lose the faux condescension and stop this sad attempt at a victory lap.
