Bama' got a crystal ball pick for a high rated interior OL today, not sure how/if that matters with the Brock's or how many interior guys they are taking.

I don't think it matters; their goal is to take five this class. They especially need immediate impact receivers this class too, considering their misses in '19 and '20.

    fuck that guy.

I’m all for this talk and I hope it continues to be the narrative. I hope it just keeps escalating.

Riley hasn’t coached a single QB in his career, as OC or HC, that he developed from recruit to starter.

Rattler struggled turning the ball over in practice against the shitastic OU DBs. It’s not a new problem for him.

Rattler threw 33 INTs in 42 high school games. Sam threw 9 in 26, Baker threw 8 in 29, Kyler threw 16 in 32, and Hurts threw 7 in 16.

Rattler is going to put up some stats but anyone expecting him to be a step up for OU in QB play is making some huge assumptions.

FWIW — OU played in 6 one score games last season and Hurts never threw more than 1 INT in any game.

Did he recruit Shane Carden at ECU?

Lol wtf are you talking about?   There have been less frequent posts because here locally cases are fairly low.  We closed the Covid unit at UofC completely this week.
You sound butthurt about something.  Wrong type of doc, sorry.

He’s become probably the mostly cynical poster I’ve seen outside the CR. I think I saw him post last week that he thinks you aren’t actually a doctor or something along those lines.

Agreed. Would be a huge get for UK. I love what they do with both sides of the LOS and I agree a lot of it is in evals (Wohlabaugh for instance, how is he not a mid-4 star guy?) but I think Edmond might be one of the best S&C coaches out there and is a really big part of UKs success. He's like Schmidt but without the racism and vomit eating. He's done a great job turning that team into a physical force. They have simply bullied a lot of comparable and even more talented teams and rarely do they look athletically inferior as the rankings would suggest.

It's funny how Edmond has been in the S&C program under each Stoops brother over the past two decades. Also, it's no coincidence how Kentucky started to really rise once Michigan State really began to fall. UK simply started beating out MSU throughout Northeast Ohio (and the rest of Ohio/even Michigan to an extent) in recruiting at various positions, and it shows. I would've been really high on Sparty for the future if Tucker had been able to get Marrow from UK. It's good for Kentucky that they're now at a point to where they're paying a TE coach $900K a year.

    re: Myslinski

An athletically maxed-out under-sized C prospect with a dad with an NFL pedigree? Fucking hell. I've had enough of Hand's eggshell dancing with fucking Blake. These recent dalliances with both Remington Strickland and Michael Myslinski while not offering Ezra Oyetade is blatant and ridiculous coddling for the Brock's benefit. It's like the mildest of pressure but with a clear "James is OUR GUY" signal to it. Oyetade is the best prospect out of those 4 guys by a large margin and it's clear that Texas isn't fully engaging him for "reasons". There's no reason to keep handling Blake with kid gloves at this point, because it's too late in this sped up COVID calendar.

Alabama sure as fuck isn't. Sounds very much like the Tide see William Parker as a player that could play multiple positions along the front line and is a guy they covet much more than his current rankings would suggest. I suspect that he's going to be in their class. I'm guessing that UGA and Bama end up splitting Ferguson/Josey and with tOSU already grabbing 2 OGs in this class, I'd be willing to be that Jager Burton could end up in their class as well. They wouldn't say no any of those 4 guys and if they take even 2 of them James' spot is tenuous.

I don't know how much longer Hand can wait and put together a solid OL class - I know it's likely that there will be a ton of COVID related decommits but counting on them along the OL is highly unlikely IMHO. There's only one reason I can think of to loll around right now and not move on both Ezra Oyetade and Erick Cade. As it stands even if you take those 2 (along with Conner) you still have room for a late rising jumbo athlete, which we know this staff loves, and the Brocks. Byrd seems super unlikely at this point, but even so he'd honestly count as the jumbo athlete anyway because he's going to be a project at OT. If you don't start adding pieces now (it's July) and the Brocks grab their places at Bama before losing their spots, Texas is going to be left out and adding 4 players that will likely have very low floors. You can only factor in so many projects along the OL.  I think the class could all fall together in the end and work out but right now it looks a lot more like Hand is going to be left reaching.

I think Vince Marrow closes on Burton. Hand could learn a lot from how Kentucky recruits the o-line. Obviously they look for a different type of lineman given the offense they run, but they close just often enough to where their line might be the second best in the SEC this year.

Fleck and his staff produced 8 draft picks (so far) from his evals at fucking Western Michigan. It's certainly worth paying extra attention when they target a project/athlete.

They’re especially impressive at identifying under the radar receivers. They found Rashod Bateman in Georgia before pretty much anyone, and they even held off a late push by UGA.

Really?  The entire black community?  You must be under the impression they all think the same way.  Yet the ones who oppose your opinion are condescending.  Takes about 3 seconds of thinking to come up with that conclusion.

I have yet to hear from a black student, fan, or alumni of UT who does not side with the athletes or, at the very least, understand their viewpoint. When you hear from 100+ in the black UT community troubled by this, then I think it’s safe to say “entire community” on a message board. Sure, there could be some (significant) percentage of those in the black UT community who are either ambivalent or don’t want the song changed, but I’ve yet to speak with any of them or even hear from one. I’d like to hear from them too because everyone’s voices should be heard. I thought it was plainly obvious that “entire” was a colloquialism for mass majority or even majority in this case, but I guess some misunderstood.

Actually, you are the one being intolerant, condescending and arrogant.

You have trouble with us thinking some of these ideas are ridiculous, just because you don't.  (and some of the ideas are very good).

I never said anyone was being specifically intolerant. In addition, I never specifically called any poster out. Also, I welcome discussion of the ideas the athletes have presented. The key word in my post, angry, was because I’m disappointed that so many people on one side of this issue are feverishly angry. You have every right to think an idea is ridiculous, but you clearly haven’t actually listened to their proposal. You must acknowledge that they likely have a different worldview than you. Naturally, you and many others in this thread have disagreed with them. I’m not quite sure how calling players stupid/ridiculous for this isn’t condescending though.

  9. It’s very telling how angry some people get when a viewpoint they’re uncomfortable with is shared. These athletes and the entire black community at UT just want to tell you about their struggles, and they wanted to be treated as true equals in every aspect of life. The condescension and arrogance toward them by some in this fan base is incredibly disappointing.

  10. I’m sure y’all have gone over it ad nauseam, but the mask wearing goes down to almost zero in rural/suburban areas. I don’t know the whole picture with Texas as I don’t live there anymore, but my parents in Cypress say like 10% of people wear them in stores. Apparently my brother went to an indoor wedding in aggyland tonight with 2/100 wearing them (both old). Most people there were from East Texas and the Panhandle. I get not wanting to wear a mask at a wedding, but you’d think if it’s refundable to postpone (supposedly it was), then that’d be the best option.

Honestly, it's about the best time there is to get in on someone that had been choosing between Iowa or Nebraska.

I think LSU could be in the lead. Also, I’d never count out Michigan if Sherrone Moore is recruiting the prospect.

  12. Oregon looks like they're going to land another great class even with Donte Williams at USC upping their recruiting. Wiltfong put in Oregon crystal balls today for Jaylin Davies, Keanu Williams, and Xavier Worthy. There's some chatter that they're now back in it for Korey Foreman and JT Tuimoloau. People call Cristobal a bag man and meathead, but it seems like that combination works since they're definitely now the most talented team on the West Coast.

Their defense is absolutely loaded this year. Deommodore Lenoir, Thomas Graham, Mykael Wright, Jevon Holland, Justin Flowe, Noah Sewell, and Kayvon Thibodeaux are all future draft picks. They have a ton of other quality players like Mase Funa, Austin Faoliu, and Jordon Scott. Their offense actually doesn't seem to be that talented this year with the glaring exception of the best OT in college football, Penei Sewell. Their receivers and backs seem to be mostly good, but I can't see any of the upperclassmen in those groups being high draft picks. I think CJ Verdell could be, but he's always injured so it's hard to tell. I'm not sold on Tyler Shough at QB, but he could live up to his ranking. Joe Moorhead will certainly try his best to do that. Their o line as a unit seems like it could be just average this year despite Sewell just because they lost four starters. The guys projected to replace them are all upperclassmen though so that should prevent the line from being bad.

The one position they've kind of struggled to recruit is RB. They have a few four stars now on the depth chart, but they've yet to land a guy who any of the top schools would have taken in the past three classes (with the exception of Sean Dollars, but I view him as more of an APB).

USC should win the South while Oregon wins the North. That game will be interesting this year because it's strength vs. strenght and weakness vs. weakness. Even though USC's offense is now good, I think Oregon's defense can contain them. Also, I think USC's defense will be improved this year because they return a bunch of starts from young and improving players. I think that unit can easily contain Oregon's offense just like vice versa. I'm not sure why I wrote so much about Oregon, but I'm pretty sure I predicted them to win a title under Cristobal in a longform post last year, so I guess it's par for the course.

Probably already mentioned, but he’s Aaron Jones’ brother. I know nobody likes missing out on the likes of Wheaton and Johnson, but I think at least one of the backs stringing together offers this spring will be just as good as either of them (maybe not Johnson, but more likely Wheaton). This guy and McCaskill (and maybe even backs like JP Martin, Jaden Nixon, and Cam’Ron Valdez) all have good shots to keep getting better and become successful college backs.

Damn, forgot this was the ‘22 thread. Regardless, the ‘21 backs I listed still seem promising.

I’ve understood since I was a kid that OU and Ohio State were two-ply diploma factories whereas we and Michigan had at least a little pride and I’m probably a fuck ton older than you

Ohio State has improved a lot academically in the past three decades or so. Out of the four schools talked about, only OU is a bad school. There’s a reason why someone like texifornia, who presumably knows people in all types of careers in NYC, has never even met one of their graduates.

  16. It's a damn shame that the most unlikable of the Big Three will probably have the most accolades in the end. Federer is probably my favorite athlete, but I'd be fine with Nadal eclipsing his Slams record. It seems like Djokovic fans are either just contrarians or Serbians.
