  1. Linguist seems like a good evaluator, especially since he held off Georgia’s late push for Rashod Bateman in ‘18. I guess he’s just not cut out for SEC recruiting; what a shame.
  2. If Pruitt can get Tennessee to be competitive in the East, Jimbo and Dickey’s Tennessee strategy is fucked.
  3. I actually agree with this. However, them being Mormon means most of the attractive ones are married by like 24.
  4. I thought Tony Elliott would leave before Scott.
  5. Phil Parker is a really good DC at Iowa. I know the narrative would be that his defenses can only defend slow B1G offenses, but I don't think that's true.
  6. This will be ugly, and it might not get to even two pages. Virginia just doesn't have much talent, and Clemson is pissed off. They should cover the 28.5 point spread.
  7. This should be another big Buckeye blowout. Ryan Day just needs to make sure Fields is never in a position to take a nasty hit, and this is likely the last significant game Jonathan Taylor will play before going to the NFL next year.
  8. I think Georgia is more overmatched here than they think. The best offense they’ve played (per SP+) is Florida’s at 15th. UGA’s defense is rated 1st, but I think they’re due for a correction.
  9. Right, it'd be awful for recruiting purposes. Honestly neither outcome is good for recruiting purposes, because OU"s pitch of 5 straight B12 titles and their fourth playoff appearance in five years would be a mammoth to recruit against. I guess I'll be rooting for Kirby Smart to get his giant head out of his ass and go against their tendencies against LSU or sacrifice an animal, etc, etc.
  10. Trust me, you don't want Marcus Arroyo on the UT staff. He cost them the game against ASU, and didn't help in the second half against Auburn.
  11. Baylor couldn't keep it within three TDs against either of them.
  12. It's hilarious to see what byu fans have to say nowadays. They might be the most unaware fanbase in the country, and they're up their in delusion as well.
  13. Oregon has good enough players to make the playoff. Unfortunately, Cristobal and Arroyo can't get out of their own way and they'll likely lose at least one game a year in vomit-inducing fashion. Last year Stanford and ASU were the terrible losses, and this year it was the Auburn comeback and that horrid performance in Tempe.
  14. I suppose it's good that Utah's DBs are getting exposed now rather than LSU or Ohio St taking it up a notch. When the Utes played USC earlier this year, the DBs got embarrased by SC's receivers.
  15. Whittingham vs. Cristobal should be a hard-fought matchup. I imagine most on here are pulling for the Utes (except for one pesky poster).
  16. Posters on here generally know very little about college football nationally. If you were to ask them about basic Ohio State football facts in recent years, most probably wouldn't know what to say.
  17. Whittingham isn’t going anywhere, but you don’t know anything about college football nationally if you’re comparing Whittingham to Herman and Charlie. Urban Meyer has had all three as assistants, and he’d plainly tell you Whittingham is the best of them in a private conversation. I really don’t understand why people on here think there are no good coaches in the G5 ranks. You just have to evaluate them thoroughly, and a large sample size of seasons helps with that.
  18. I agree that Whittingham could coach for much longer than six more years. However, he’s plainly said in one of his press conferences that he does not want to coach past 65. I believe him, and he will retire at Utah in a few years.
  19. Whittingham is 59, and has openly said he won't be coaching by the time he's 65. He will retire at Utah.
  20. Agree with everything you said except for Sam being elite. He's good, but there are only a handful of elite QBs each year.
  21. Do people on here really know this little about college football nationally? Whittingham has had like 100 opportunities to leave Utah, but he’s a lifer there. He’s even said he won’t still be coaching at 65, and he’s 59.
  22. 5* LB Noah Sewell, brother of Oregon LT Penei Sewell (likely a future first round pick), commits to Oregon. Cristobal has them rolling on the field and in recruiting. Their defense next year will feature guys like Sewell, Mase Funa, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Mykael Wright, Jevon Holland, and probably one of Deommodore Lenoir and Thomas Graham. That's what a roster can look like when you recruit and evaluate each position group well *coughs at Herman and Orlando*.
  23. I always see everyone on here and nationally on Twitter saying how Texas greatly underachieves every year given the talent on the roster. I really wonder just how talent is actually on the roster though. You can throw out the recruiting rankings, just look at past NFL drafts and listen to guys like Dane Brugler when it comes to upcoming draft prospects. I think the following programs have more draft picks than Texas as of now: Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, A&M, Oregon, Washington, Utah, USC, Notre Dame, Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, OU, and Clemson. I think the following programs have similar amounts of prospects as Texas: South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arizona St, Stanford, Minnesota, Michigan St, Baylor, TCU, Iowa St, Florida St, and Boston College. I know it seems absurd to think nearly half of the programs on there could have as many draft prospects as Texas, but just look up those teams' recent draft histories and look up prospect lists for the upcoming draft and beyond. We all like to think that Tom Herman has elevated the recruiting here beyond late stage Mack and Charlie, but has he when you look past the rankings? Which players on the team right now do you think will be drafted in the next four years? There is definitely an argument to be made that a guy like Urban Meyer would come to Austin and get more of these players to reach their full potential. If that were to happen, then Texas would rejoin the ranks of the teams in the first group when it comes to developing prospects. To start, just look at the current upperclassmen on the team. I think Duvernay and Johnson will be drafted. I think at most two of Shackelford, Jones, Braun, and Roach will be drafted. I think Sam, Kerstetter, and Chris Brown have chances to be drafted. Now looking at the underclassmen, it gets murkier. These are the guys who Tom Herman and co. recruited and hope to be selected in the 2021-23 drafts. These players are too young to really speculate on their draft status fairly, but I think it's safe to assume at least four guys could be drafted in each of those years. It'd definitely be more than four if a great coach like Urban Meyer and his assistants were developing them properly.
