  1. No water in 78752 as of this morning, but still have power.
  2. Our luck just ran out, power out in 78752 for an hour now. No fireplace, should be a fun night.
  3. Windmill. Google photos just reminded me that we took the old dog there exactly 5 years ago.
  4. Doing some primitive walk-in camping at Colorado Bend Monday-Wednesday. It's my first time camping since my little bro and I spent a couple nights in Lassen almost two years ago. Far too long. We are taking the doberman pup with us as well, so it will be an interesting experience for sure...
  5. I don't know where to put this, but I just moved from one of Texas' many armpits, Decatur, to North Austin, only to find out my house Rep is Republican Michael McCaul. The district stretches from north Austin all the way to what looks like@Huckleberry hood in NW Houston. What. The. Fuck? That's absurd.
  6. Mango and Donnie's bond grows ever stronger... just kidding, she annoys the shit out of him.
  7. Texas is kind of the dividing line between states with massive amounts of public lands out west and those states that are primarily privately owned from Texas to the east. I don't know the numbers, but I would doubt that any state west of Texas has less public land acreage than Texas total, not by percentage, despite our massive size. As a Texan who loves the outdoors, it's pretty fucking depressing. Especially as a large portion of that public land is pine forest in the east of the state, which, while important, is not the greatest place to visit, particularly given the surrounding towns.
  8. I tried not to talk to my fellow Wise county residents any more than necessary during my 16-month sentence to that wasteland, but what summed up the community best was a church sign posted in October that read "The rapture is coming. Get right or get left".
  9. Anahuac is amazing. In addition to the giant flocks of snow geese, there are at least a dozen duck species, many raptors (in my early birding days i saw white-tailed kite, peregrine falcon and probably 10+ northern harriers in a few hours), dozens of waders and plenty of smaller perching birds like vermillion flycatcher. Not to mention otters and gators. I would recommend it to anybody in the Houston or East Texas area, in the winter especially. It's also both walkable and drivable.
  10. Yea, what the fuck? Should have been richer, I guess...
  11. Tear that mother fucking wall down, Haaland!
  12. Why the fuck are you listening to 43+ minutes of rush limbaugh?
  13. He said "you talk about sam ehlinger, one of our... players we have great respect for."
  14. Several years shorter, with numerous unexplainable gaps
  15. I got accepted to UT within a month or 2 of the VY national championship, was there during the Colt years and moved from Austin the summer of 2010. Just accepted a job in Austin and am moving back at the end of the year. I really just wanted to say "you're welcome", and I'm sorry for the last decade.
  16. Pets in the holiday spirit. Not pictured, the hole in Mango's lip from attempting to steal a bone from the old man earlier in the morning.
  17. Just passed a several dozen car Trump caravan heading southbound on I-35 from Fort Worth. What fucking losers.
  18. Anybody in the DFW area want a 37ish gallon tank + stand for cheap? I'm moving into another rental for at least another year and just can't keep breaking the thing down constantly.
  19. #1 bucket list item for me is an African safari. Awesome photos
