  1. Who needs clean water, or breathable air, or bearable temperatures? Those are privileges nowhere specifically enumerated in the constitution!!!
  2. What a legacy to leave behind. A single senator with the cards falling in such a way that he can single-handedly significantly curb climate change, but he refuses to do it. In a body of enormous pieces of shit, (and, I assume, some good people!), he is truly one of the most grotesque.
  3. Or interesting to walk around there. I've only vacationed there once, but for a seemingly laid-back people, they are so aggressive behind the wheel. Pedestrian right-of-way? LOL!!! You better move your ass across the road, because they are hitting the accelerator when they see you.
  4. You're photos make me really wish that my wife got sent out to Alaska for a year in grad school. It nearly happened, but alas, the city pulled out of the hat was Decatur, TX. The LBJ Grasslands were cool and all, but millions of acres of wilderness to explore seems slightly cooler. Could have added some sick birds and mammals to the life list too.
  5. In order to contribute something relevant to the actual thread, here is sunset at Reimer's Ranch.
  6. Yea, I went out and got northern shrike and fork-tailed flycatcher, as well as mountain plover, but those seem to be annual. Travis Co was super slow this winter.
  7. FW nature center is a great place for birding and hiking in general. I'm sure you fan find a bunch of other critters there to photograph besides birds, but I've had barred owl, roadrunner and prothonotary warbler there (boardwalk in summer). One of the only spots in the area for pileated woodpecker too, although they're tough to find. Village creek drying beds in Arlington is the #1 spot in Tarrant County as far as # of species. Lots of waterfowl/wading birds depending on the water level, and in the summer you can see a ton of Mississippi kites that must breed there. It does not smell good, fyi. Other than those two, River Legacy Park (E. of Collins) is good for forest birds, particularly during migration, and North Holiday Park is good for waterfowl and wading birds.
  8. I moved to Austin 12/20 from FW. Was in Houston prior to that, so just checking off all the major Texas metroplexes.
  9. If y'all need a non-photographer birder to help you find some good birds, I humbly offer my services. Although you seem to have no trouble finding good stuff on your own, Doug.
  10. Negged for posting that of all possible NBA duos.
  11. The 7-day case average ever so slightly ticked up in Texas this week. Hopefully it's just a tick and not a trend upward again.
  12. It sure would be satisfying watching that arrogant fucking smirk disappear from his face as his armed forces shit the bed.
  13. Dude, you don't have to hear this shit from the fucking liberal MSM. Trump happily says this shit to anyone who listens. How fucking stupid are you?
  14. Hey, Leo has donated to lots of climate causes so that absolves him of any hypocritical behavior, right? It's straight out of the Sack playbook. I'm shocked you don't approve.
  15. Just hit the midway point of pregnancy #1. Our little boy was looking great on the anatomy scan today. I'm certainly not prepared for him to be here yet, but can't wait for him to arrive.
  16. Imagine having actual power to curb climate change, and choosing instead to be as greedy as Joe Manchin
  17. Oh yeah, that's how satire works!
  18. Someone else's experience at work the other day. Weird how these tough guys treat women this way but never seem to have anything to say to me, a very average-sized dude. It's almost like these wannabe badasses are actually just giant pussies.
  19. We are entering the 2nd trimester today. Just found out we're having a boy and all our genetic testing was low risk. Yesterday was a good day.
  20. They gave my wife a 3rd Moderna for whatever reason, but it kicked her ass. Fortunately for just a day this time rather than two with the second shot. I got Pfizer and felt nothing.
  21. Today's US at 11 weeks showed everything progressing as it should. It's beginning to feel real now, especially with the baby looking much more baby-like than last month.
  22. I assume it has been mentioned in the Boebert thread, but when there are over a dozen Republican congressfolks earning their own thread for going above and beyond with their insanity, racism, etc, it's hard to keep track of all their transgressions. God, they all suck so bad...
  23. I got my booster the other day, Pfizer to go with my original Moderna. No symptoms, but then I didn't really have any from the initial doses. Predictably, my wife was unable to get out of bed the first day after her shot due to severe chills and body aches, exactly like the last two times. It's infuriating that she voluntarily goes through that misery, despite being at minimal risk herself, and 30% of the country can't pull their heads out of their asses for 2 seconds to do something for the good of the rest of the country.
  24. Now that we are expecting one (same time frame as you, Shady Ray), I imagine we will want to go for two. Before we got pregnant, we frequently discussed having one and adopting one, as my wife is adopted herself. I guess we will we reevaluate as we get further into Round 1. So ready for prenatal visit #2 and getting out of the first trimester.
  25. Also, Desert Solitaite by Abbey. Given his overall attitude, might hit hard for a teenager especially
