  1. 290 construction in Houston has killed about a dozen of my tires the last 5 years so this hits close to home. I have probably spent more time on that road than any other in my entire life, and I've hated every minute of it.
  2. Bringing a coffee brown ale to my rehearsal dinner this weekend. It was just a brew kit that I added cold brew coffee to. I've only brewed 5 times in the 2 or so years I've had my basic kit, so every time feels pretty much like the first time I've brewed. I'm going to try and make it a near monthly thing going forward though. Any recs on good equipment additions to the basic kit that will accommodate an apartment? I did get a cooling coil for the last batch. Didn't check to make sure it connected to my sink without an adapter though. Whoops.
  3. I have a 9 year-old husky-lab mix who has always been pretty healthy and we had a sort of similar experience with him. He has had 2 or 3 incidents over the last year where he is laying on the ground and his legs start spasming. He never loses consciousness or control of his bowels/bladder, just has a scared and confused look in his eyes. This lasts for about 20-30 seconds maybe. He's then unable to walk for a 5-10 minutes afterwards, and then when he is able to get up, he's somewhat unsteady or weak for another 30 minutes or so. After that, he seems perfectly fine. Twice we had him in the car to take him to the vet, when he suddenly seemed perfectly normal so we didn't end up taking him. During his routine vet visit we mentioned it. The vet didn't think it was seizures. She recommended possible imaging, but we didn't want to be too aggressive with any treatment, so we just got him some pain pills in case he had another episode. I don't think he's had any issues in 4-6 months or so, so I'm hopeful it's not some intracranial mass or something. Scary as hell though
  4. Donnie, the husky/lab. He's about to enter his second decade of life and is slowing down a bit. I inherited him when the lady moved in 2 years ago. He's a badass.
  5. I was participating in this thread on the old site but failed to document everything I might need to know. Heading there in just under 3 weeks for my honeymoon (I don't know the rules in this new world, but not happening), staying at the Sheraton on the south side Saturday-Saturday. I already have the doors-off helicopter tour booked and am planning on doing the first 4 miles of the Kalaulau Trail. Any food/drink/other activity recs? Also, is it easy and worthwhile to day trip to another island if we're not planning on doing a Pearl Harbor tour?
