  1. It’s word salad. The guy is literally just a walking tweet compilation of the dumbest stuff I’ve read online.
  2. Yeah I think surly may be a poor choice for someone who has problems with GenX. There are a lot of us assholes here.
  3. He’s embracing the yolo concept a little too late. Maybe he can get in on GameStop while he’s at it?
  4. Yeah Michael Burry about to cash in on his big short 2 if he’s still short TSLA. For years shorts were slaughtered but I don’t see this one happening. Headed down past 115 soon.
  5. I always thought southwest sucked but now it’s aggy level ineptitude. Unbelievable. There needs to be accountability at some point for these fuckos.
  6. Got a pair of Julbo sunglasses that are photochromic and used them on a ride yesterday. Fantastic especially when riding from full sun into shadows. My old sunglasses are relegated to driving or walking. I do look like a massive tool in these but I’m sure I look like a tool anyway.
  7. Merry Christmas assholes.
  8. Well a mixed year overall. I think I wound up down 8 lbs over the year, but most importantly the weight I’ve kept has been moving away from the gut. I’ve added cycling to my exercise routine, at least 30 miles a week, and play less tennis just because there are so many things to do here and less opponents available. Completely quit alcohol, permanently, after realizing if I did it I wouldn’t miss it at all. My biggest problem is my sweet tooth, but I will manage it. I plan to run more frequently on trails and in rough terrain as road running beats the hell out of my knees. 2023 here we come.
  9. The peninsula is going to be a high off 59 and a low of about 45 this week. You have immunity from negs but I may get bombed into Bolivia.
  10. Yeah they’re going to have herd immunity and if it costs them 1 percent of their population that’s fine now because their economy is shitting itself. The supply chain issues are getting worse and long term the one thing China can’t afford is to lose a large chunk of its manufacturing, which is coming.
  11. Oops instead of day drinking I’m posting sober. That may have been poor judgment.
  12. Yeah I’m technically working but I literally haven’t gotten a thing done today, so I wanted to wish each and every one of you motherfuckers a safe and happy Christmas. This place is incredible in its breadth of knowledge (see Ukraine War, the Oil and Gas threads, car threads, and even the food forum) plus its extra helping of degeneracy. I am glad I joined all those many years ago and regret nothing. See you degenerates after the holidays.
  13. I always wonder how stupid can people be, then it turns out the answer is way stupider than you thought possible.
  14. Holy shit the Hindenburg is looking on in horror at the sheer scope of this disaster.
  15. We’re getting fucked, and not in the good way. Of course I dump money into the market just ahead of it taking a steaming shit on my chest. Thanks for playing.
  16. The crazy thing is I just bought a cd ladder for 12 months with minimal spread. Just about every maturity at 4.6. That is bizarre, and making me even more curious about where the market goes.
  17. Not in the business forum but wow this stock (TSLA) has tanked. At around 130 per share now and probably headed to the mid 80s based on a fair value model. What does that do to Elmo’s cash flow servicing debt on his toy?
  18. A little different but Snow, by John Banville, is pretty good. He’s quite a writer and does different genres well. His Kim Philby book (can’t remember the name now) got me started on his books. The Untouchable. That’s the one with Blunt and Philby.
  19. Tesla was a California success story until recently. The rift really came at the start of covid and until then there was an undeniable “it” factor to the company. It’s irreparably damaged by its association with Elmo. He will be pushed out eventually due to his poor judgment and the other economic headwinds such as the CAFE credits. I just hope he doesn’t buttfuck the Austin economic environment in the process. A lot of ripples caused by his moves in central Texas.
  20. I didn’t think it was that sad. It was a reminder that they aren’t playing around. The plot twist with the cicada was the only lame reveal. Oldman is fantastic, and the rest of the cast outside of River is great too. That actor doesn’t quite pull his part off.
