  1. Some people don’t have the luxury of picking when to sell. The other thought I had is how many variable rate / ARM instruments are there still in the market? Those are about to bite a giant shit sandwich.
  2. Oh man that is brutal. Home prices fixin to take a wholesale beating if that keeps up.

    It's Dead, Jim

When I saw the thread title I thought it was another Texas program post.
  4. Not to be rude but this ignores all history since basically the British defeated Napoleon. The empire was an unmitigated disaster for most of its colonies and a failure at war fighting strategy. See: Wavell Haig (WW1) Bomber Harris Just a few examples. Montgomery is the possible exception and he had some clunkers. Market Garden is just the most famous. What they do have is incredible fighting spirit and small unit tactics. So basically the reverse.
  5. I think you got the stick by the wrong end there. https://twitter.com/tennistv/status/1572935880071061506?s=46&t=OiVx2-JbOCZRwBT3y_pUog

  7. I am back in IBRX but gone from ALPP and AMYZF. I enjoyed the game but I see no signs that I’ll ever see those two grow. But right now any stock is probably looking like dogshit because of overall trends and cost of borrowing.
  8. Got the Moderna bivalent booster today. I am not only a pureblood never having caught the Rona but now I have super gubmint chips which improve cell phone performance to 10G.
  9. Yeah the big question is does inflation slow quickly enough that the rate hikes don’t get overdone? And I really wonder how much longer supply chain issues persist. Because it’s anecdotal but I still see them in a ton of things in my business. Pipe, pumps, electrical gear, control panels. It is all fucked still.
  10. Wordle 457 6/6 ⬛🟨⬛🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Pure rage.
  11. The party in charge at the start of Covid seemed really well organized with its messaging out of the executive branch. No way that created any issues. Neither did the 50 states each adopting a policy based on their political climate.
  12. You’re responding to a guy whose whole posting history is a bit. Slightly different situation this time around.
  13. Roger was tennis for a while after Sampras and Agassi were declining and left. While Roddick was really really good he never could be on that level and guys like Safin couldn’t do it. The craziest thing in retrospect is how quickly Nadal joined the conversation, and how long it took Djoker to do so. I think it was 2010 or 11 before he just became a total threat and ground up the tour. It’s the end of an era. Nadal is still incredible (I think I have flipped and he is my goat) but he maybe has one or two more French opens in him. Djoker probably has a few more years and will win more majors almost certainly, but Alcaraz, Rune, Medvedev, Berrettini etc just don’t move the needle like the big 3 did for me. Somehow Fed didn’t hang on too long although 41 certainly seems like it.
  14. Can you somehow work rum and sugar into it? I think we have the makings of a business enterprise here…
  15. I’m the anti Wally. I sold a lot of ibrx as it got close to 6. Leading to the spike in price. As soon as I got out of UUUU it climbed. For what it’s worth I’m all in on an Brazilian fertilizer company with a fascinating story; VNPKF. It’s not a short term stonk play though. my only remaining stonk besides is that bitch AMYZF which sits there and taunts me with dollar cost averaging.
  16. Agree. I think the best outcome now is the rate of increase slows to the usual 2 to 2.5 percent range.
  17. Deflation is not happening. I am still seeing serious inflation in construction costs which are now up about 40 percent from 2019. That is going to stick. Projects get priced based on these bid tabulations, budgets get set, and then money gets spent. With prices and interest rates continuing to rise there’s going to be a real friction for anything that is hard to adjust (fixed income for example). Debt holders are about to get fucked for a while. Think people who bought 25 year tax free bonds at 2.5 percent.
  18. Just marking this for a long cat post when I have time. Texas is only partly turbo fucked on water.
  19. If the Ukrainians start trotting out Stukas and 88 mm artillery converted from AA i an going to get suspicious.
  20. You have to be careful with kesselschlacht maneuvers. If the defending army is mobile they can break the encirclement quickly. In this case the Russians look like they were running as soon as that northern breakthrough materialized.
  21. You can’t post that and not include the infamous photo… And rosbif is the French nickname for limeys.
  22. That is fucked up. I know they’re young adults but that guy seems like a real piece of shit.
