  1. Maybe she learned some pool etiquette for next time.
  2. I just googled that course. Looks amazing, and also looks like the definition of "old Scottish golf." Can't wait to hear about it. Also looks like they put 18 flags in the middle of nowhere in a beautiful location and called it a "golf course". How are you getting there?
  3. It's 2024 and they still think calling someone "gay" as an intended insult is: 1) a burn 2) acceptable
  4. Trattoria Lisina is an Italian Restaurant on an absolutely gorgeous piece of land, and it's owned by Damian Mandola of Houston restaurant fame. He's cut back in recent years in terms of visibility, but it's still outstanding. If your kids are still of the age they enjoy a good playground, and the weather cooperates, there is a large playscape outside under an oak grove that makes for a good place to set up camp. You can order pizza and drinks to go inside and bring it out to eat on the picnic tables under the oak trees. There is a winery on the same grounds that is quite popular as well. Different owners after Damian and his business partner/friend had a falling out. Damian took the restaurant, and the other guy took the winery. Dreamland is a trip. It's out west of Drip a few minutes and is a Pickleball mecca--16 courts with professional matches. 2 really fun putt-putt courses meandering through the oak trees. Splashpad on hot days. Large covered seating area with a few TVs. And a half-decent beer and wine selection that feels like being at Dave and Busters. You get a Dreamland card, and the dispenser tells you how much per ounce. Swipe card, fill cup to desired level, drink. Food is meh, but edible. It's not a place my wife and I will go on a date night, but when there's a party there or a post-game gathering of the soccer team...yea, that'll do.
  5. Oh, and I forgot about Suds Monkey. Fun place to let the kids play with friends. Pretty good beer, lots of TVs. And Dreamland is the place to be if you're into Pickle Ball. I'm not, but Dreamland is a common meeting place for soccer parties, and it's fun to watch others play. Or they have 2 legit putt-putt courses. Or just sit and drink beer. It's self-serve and they charge by the ounce.
  6. The mexican food at Beerburg was legit. Sad to see it close. If you want to extend the area of DS to "15 minute radius", you get into places like Shady Llama, Vista Brewing, Trattoria Lisina, and Hays City Store. I've heard good things about the food at Paloma, but mixed on the service. It's a restaurant at the putt-putt place by the Y and DSYSA Soccer Fields. Homespun downtown Drip is pretty damn solid. Is Jester King still around? I haven't been in years, but it was a great place to hang out, drink beer, and eat pizza.
  7. AKA "low carb version"
  8. I thought the movies were hilarious, so I expected the same from the TV show. I'm only 2 episodes in, but I'm a fan.
  9. Really? I'm rollin'
  10. What is the 2nd big-ass ring on his hand? I assume one is the Colts SB ring. A quick look on wikipedia says he went to SMU and was a walk-on LB and an injury ended his career. So he didn't win a NC in tennis or something like that. I don't see that he remarried after a divorce 10 years ago, so the ring on his wedding ring finger isn't that. AFC Championship ring from year they lost SB to the Saints? SMU class ring? That's lame.
  11. I mean, it'll get my money. But I have to say this disappoints me. TG2 had such great closure, from reconciling with Goose's kid who we met in TG1, to ending up with Penny Benjamin. That's perfect. Maybe this is a movie using the name, and it's not really a continuation of Maverick's story. I'm down for some cool dogfighting and I don't need Maverick in it.
  12. I wish it was just online. Someone mentioned value of time. My wife goes to the store and buys a fuck ton of clothes with the intent to try them on again at home and decide what she wants to keep before having to go BACK to the store at some point to return them. Sometimes she'll come home with clothes for me, which I ask her every time not to because it bugs the shit out of me how much time is wasted in the process. Last time I refused to try any of them on. That went over like a lead balloon. And then she complains she doesn't have enough time to get things done.
  13. I've got a 1/4 cord of live oak from tree limbs we cleaned up from a tree last winter. About half of it is split from 6-8 inch diameter logs, and half are full logs in the 4-5inch diameter range. All stacked in a 1/4 cord stand. I don't remember the exact date everything was cut and split, but no later than March 1st. Any rough idea as to how long it should take to season to be used as firewood? I just ran out of my other rack and am wondering if the wood from last winter is ready. I live in Driftwood, and the wood has been properly stacked for good airflow and gets plenty of sunshine. I can't find any good rule of thumb online, but surely after the heat we had this year with very little rain it's dry enough to burn, right?
  14. Well there's a picture of a steak on the bag.
  15. Definitely too soon, but...
  16. Because Jesus
  17. Problem is, that'll be the same thread title for the next 7 years
  18. No way, no how would Florida hire Jimbo after watching him drive FSU into the ground. If anything, they are still sending him Christmas cards for that shit. Not that they took advantage of it, but still. I mean, I can't see how any big program looks at the job he did at A&M and goes "yep, that's my guy". I guess if you're really cash poor and can convince him to take the job for like $1M/year while he's still a top 10 paid HC for not coaching at Aggy, and you're just looking to make some headlines with good recruiting headlines, then MAYBE. Not that it's open, but Miss St. seems like a good fit. LSU is cash poor and he could recruit his brains out there, but they have some really high expectations of winning. Jimbo's style of play is so freaking boring. Even when he was forced to give up control and hire an OC to run and exciting offense, it sucked. Based on what what CTJ posted, it has to be an SEC program, because I can't see him convincing any Aggy players to go to the Big12 or ACC. No reason to even make the ask. Maybe Kiffin is on the move and it's Ole Miss? Oh shit, that would be hilarious.
  19. Username checks out
  20. This came on Pandora at some point in last couple of years and I was blown away. Had never heard it before, but JFC what a voice.
  21. For consideration. And because I can't stop singing it.
  22. Every time I read these updates, I take a step back and remember all the decisions made thus far have been to keep the roster intact and win the SEC in 2024.
  23. Fairly expected that the most hated teams are also the most successful. Notable exception--Aggy, who somehow pulls off being hated while also completely mediocre and not a real threat in the league in any sport. LSU also bucks the trend by being a historically successful team but only average level of hate.
  24. Noooooo! Loved him in just about every role he had. Goddammit that sucks
