  1. You weren't kidding. Did a Google search, and laughed through all of section 2, which shows how to get at the battery Cadillac sucks hope this helps if you haven't figured it out yet
  2. Update... At 6:45am the security lines were almost empty. I'm on United, which I assume has fewer flights that time of day because not many people were checking in. If you fly American and have a family and/or checking bags, you should arrive plenty early. It was a cluster fuck. Didn't see the Southwest area.
  3. Ha! Yea, that'd be nice. Connecting to Singapore actually. Copious amounts of ball sweat inside and outside. Normally I absolutely love going to Singapore, if nothing more than the food. My parents used to live there, and I'd visit during winter break while in college. I have all my favorite spots I like to hit when going back for business. This time is on business for a multi-day internal sales/marketing "summit". Night 1: Dinner at a fancy hotel Night 2: Dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse Night 3: Dinner at a tapas bar Gonna have to eat light so I can hit the food stalls afterwards.
  4. Appreciate it. Yea, I'm carrying on. It's been 2.5 years since I traveled for business, which is a different experience than traveling with a wife and/or kids. I'm thinking this will be pretty simple.
  5. Anyone flown out of AUS early one of he past 2 Saturday mornings? I have a 7:45am flight tomorrow to SFO. Clear and Pre-check status I do have to go to kiosk beforehand to show passport, but I don't think that would slow things down too much, right? I was thinking if I got there at 6:15am I'd be in good shape.
  6. I love that no one can read more than 5 posts on this thread without the following reaction. This one did it for me. It always shocks me because: 1. she's really smart 2. she loves to cook
  7. I feel like I can get the gist of Death Valley by standing in my backyard for 5 minutes today.
  8. Good luck with that. Rejection of critical thinking skills in schools was part of their platform a decade ago.
  9. If I'm traveling with someone for work, no doubt they are on their own. "Meet you at the bar". If I'm with my family (wife and 3 kids), I'm not abandoning them.
  10. The outtakes from this scene may be funnier than the scene itself. Floors me every time.
  11. Titties? Those are the fun bags on a girl's chest that you get to play with should you ever have sex with a woman.
  12. Well, I guess this struggle will enter my weird dream cycle at some point, thanks for the tips I guess... Username and all that
  13. God I hope they don't try this with massage parlors there.
  14. Yea, "Suck My Wake" is not to be confused with a pontoon boat trying to be played off as a yacht. I mean, not even Chet called the pontoon boat he wanted to rent a "yacht". BTW, this thread absolutely delivers. When I clicked, I thought it would be the least humble humblebrag ever. This is WAY better.
  15. Had no idea that existed. Entire menu looks pretty good. Will check it out.
  16. Dropped the 10 and 7 year old boys off at camp yesterday. 2 weeks. They're first timers, and we purposely didn't send them with friends, so I thought there would be a little nervousness. Nope. They flew out of the car and were on their way. As my wife said, "the only tears were Mommy's".

    Getting old sucks

This post really hit home for me. I was actually thinking the other day how much I'd love to see the parents of my friends and tell them what an impact they had on my life. Most of my childhood friends moved back to the Houston area, and I don't get to see them much. I'm close to Austin, and if I go to Houston it to see my sister and my niece/nephew. Getting a chance to hang out with old friends and their parents would be awesome. Aside from them being the baseball/basketball/soccer coaches of my youth, they would drive us out to the fire station and play basketball with us and 12 other people, go on bike rides out to a golf course and buy us frozen lemonades, go to the nearby school and be All-time QB in a 2 hour game of football. I remember it like it was yesterday. I took that shit for granted, but when I had my first child at the age of 34, I vowed I would be the dad to do those things with my kids and their friends, so that when they all became parents, it would motivate them to do the same and be the dad people remembered. I'm 45 now, and I have 3 sons. I've coached all but 3-4 seasons of whatever sport they were playing at the time. I've mellowed out over the years in terms of how serious I take it. I'm a competitive person, but this is for them, not me. Be as good as you want to be, take it as seriously as you want to take it, but remember Daddy for making it fun. They're are mostly into soccer these days, and I run my ass off out there with them in drills and scrimmages. I try to take them on bike rides, but they aren't into it as much as me. When it comes to swim parties, I'm the adult that shows up in a bathing suit and plays Marco Polo and lets the kids jump off my shoulders while te adults do their thing. It helps me feel young, but I know at some point they will appreciate it for different reasons. A week after turning 45 I really hurt my knee jump roping with my 7 year old at a school event for students and their dads. Been putting off an MRI, but it's time. I'm not ready to admit I need to slow down, and hopefully it's fixable and I don't have to slow down. But yea, getting old sucks.
  18. Fucking cock tease in Driftwood. Radar showed a big blob of rain supposedly over my house.
  19. Due to me being a dumbass, I have a working full-sized dryer that I no longer have use for. It's roughly 12-15 years old (not sure when I bought it), and it looks used. Some rust spots on the top. But it works just fine. Perfect if you have a kid going to college or getting their first apartment, or if you find yourself in need of a functioning dryer and don't mind the fact that is is used. It's yours for free if you come pick it up. I'm in the Dripping Springs area.
  20. And that's why Days of Thunder was badass.
  21. This. I tried to explain what happened to my kids while eating breakfast yesterday morning. Asked them if they know why they do lock down drills. I completely broke down. Cried every time I thought about what happened. All day. Today I woke up in extreme anger. I'm fucking done. Time to make other plans for where I raise my family.
  22. Well as long as there wasn't malicious intent, that's all that matters. People never get hurt without malicious intent. I'm literally looking on Zillow for the past 4 hours trying to figure out where to move.
  23. This exact same thing happened to my FIL in Dallas about 25-30 years ago, except without the clever comeback. Highly successful doctor mistaken for a yard man at his Highland Park house. He is still quite proud of that. And if you think about it...
