  1. Yep. This is the song I've told my wife to play after I die. I don't want a funeral. Cremate me, then play this song once and swear to remember it every day.
  2. Which boat company did you use for the private tour around Capri? I think there's as many tour companies as there are hotels.
  3. The top was cut off to get the driver out. It wasn't decapitated in the wreck
  4. 1. I don't get it. What am I missing? That's Mike in the visor, right? What's funny about a picture of him looking at a guy to his right? 2. Are analysts really allowed on the field during the game? That seems like coaching.
  5. Now you know how the fish feels motherfucker
  6. I'll never understand why more restaurants don't have biscuits as the bread for benedicts, especially in the south. I make the sub everytime I order, and I get looked at like I'm crazy. "Umm, I'll have to ask the chef if he'll do that."
  7. I had the same thought this morning when I saw the score. I thought to myself he won't make it to game 6. But does firing him mid-season do anything for your program? Who off his bumble-fuck of a staff do you appoint as the interim coach? I think they ride it out.
  8. "Any recommendations for travel to Airport from xxxx(my neighborhood). Thanks" I recommended a helicopter
  9. And the call on the field is confirmed.
  10. Isn't that called a chimichanga? Or are you trying to impress upon us that you did the frying?
  11. God damnit that one got me pretty good.
  12. Change of plans. Looks like we're going to head south from Rome and go to the Amalfi Coast. We'll hike Path of the Gods, probably a boat tour of either the coast or Capri one day, I'd like to take a day trip to Pompei, and also just explore the region.
  13. What do you do at these villages? Just walk around and take it in? Are there restaurants to have a glass...err bottle...of wine?
  14. I will be in Rome Sept. 17-19 for work (Tues-Thurs). The original plan was to meet my wife in Geneva on Friday and tour whatever we could in Switzerland in 5 days and return home on Thurs. The rub was I have other work obligations on Sun and Mon, including a private underground tour of the LHC at CERN. So the trip would have been a little broken up. For a variety of reasons, I've decided to bow out of the Sunday and Monday stuff and my wife and I are now considering her meeting me in Rome and us driving up the west coast and settle in Tuscany for 4-5 days. 1. Any must stop places along the way? 2. The number of choices of places to stay in Tuscany is overwhelming. I think it would be fun to stay in a farmhouse, and I'm exclusively looking at those. 3. Undecided on if staying close to one of the more well known places like Siena is a good thing, or should we stay in the middle of complete nowhere that is still 30-45 minutes from some of the more famous towns as well as the beach.
  15. Steak. Like a steakhouse steak. It's either under seasoned and/or overcooked. I've stopped ordering steaks at steakhouses, and as a result very rarely eat one anymore.
  16. I have no idea. Comparing the Aeros to the big 3 pro sports team is stupid
  17. Well the Aeros are minor league, which is why I left them off. SA has exactly one major sports team. Shitting on the Texans when there is no pro football to watch in SA is a bold strategy. Houston also has an MLB and MLS team. I'll wait for the list of major SA sports teams.
  18. 1) LOL. "The water is toxic" is a great counter coming from a guy singing the praises of San Antonio, which is home of the most disgusting and overrated "river" in the state. 2) To each his own, but you asked for some ideas of things to do 3) OK 4) The big 3 pro sports teams made the playoffs last year. Having access to pro sports, and competitive pro sports at that, is definitely a PRO for a city. Professional soccer available as well. Someone mentioned the museums, music, ballet, etc, but don't forget the rich diversity of food. Houston has some fantastic restaurants. Galveston isn't that far away if you want to head to the beach for a day. If you don't make an effort to take advantage of what Houston has to offer, it's a boring city. But you could say that about a lot of places.
  19. Agreed on both counts. He had a hard-on for A&M for several years, and the fact that he is now picking Texas to make the playoffs tells me we'll likely go 8-4.
  20. Yea, but the flip side to that is you got 10 extra years on the front end, where presumably you are more active, healthy, etc. Maybe not as much money, though. I'm 42 and my kids are 8, 5, and 2. I'm quite happy we waited as long as we did. My wife went to grad school that enabled a great career. We were a lot more financially stable than if we had started right away. That relieves a lot of stress on marriage. And I absolutely think chasing 3 little boys around at my age keeps me younger.
  21. "Alright, who wants an 80 degree beer to wash down their salmonella taco?"
  22. The other piece of advice I have is to mind the gap.
  23. I use an ATM to get cash once there. Rates are usually ok, and the fees are less than the money exchange places. I use my credit card as much as possible to conserve cash for when I really need it, but my CC doesn't have a foreign transaction fee. She should check with her credit card company on that point. London is expensive, and if she's going to be there for 7 days she's going to spend some money. If she's on a tight budget, she should probably spend some time doing basic research on how much things cost, like hotel, things to do, etc rather than having a co-worker ask vague questions on the internet.
  24. Pretty sure the banquet beer in that picture ain't craft stuff.
  25. Is their beer still like 3% alcohol? What a fucking wasteland.
