Its already there.
Pretty much this. I don't like the NFL and I don't like where college football is now (not that I don't agree with paying players - they are definitely entitled). But its big business and Texas is the biggest so while you may not like it, the fact of the matter is we should be pretty dominant going forward. Maybe not Alabama levels, but we should be in the discussion for the SEC championship and Playoffs every season going forward. I'll give them a pass in 2022 with the enormous roster turnover and likely several freshmen playing on the lines. There's a new world order and no other program is better suited to take advantage than Texas. So even if you don't like college football as much, at least enjoy Texas being in the best position to take advantage. You (and all of us) deserve it after the last 11 years.
There's an entire underworld of watches. The watches have completely different values because they are known to be hot and the buyer knows that they can't sell it on the gray market. Eventually, down the line, someone usually sells it because they can't resist the big money.
Also, for reference my wrists are 7 3/8 in the photo above. In the earlier photos my wrist was 7 5/8. Shed a few pounds recently. I personally wouldn't suggest it for any wrists smaller than 7 inches. But to each their own.
It's massive and blocky. Visually it's large and I think the lug to lug is like 55mm. It wears very comfortable with the flat case back and titanium. The straps are great, although nearly impossible to switch because they are fitted to the case. Curved spring bar helps. But the strap is very comfortable and the watch feels secure. For the park or going to a game, its great. A total weekender. It's never seen my office. For $1k is a great change of pace. And I do really like the brand's unique design. And while I love the wandering hours, I have a lot of other watches ahead of that one for what it costs.
It isn't for everyone for sure. I switch watches alot so I throw it on if I'm going to one of my kids ' games or otherwise completely casual and outdoors. I don't really see Invicta in it other than being large. But I can't say I've ever spent time looking at Invicta watches. I thought they were mostly shitty knockoffs of Subs and large blingy watches. The guys who started the brand are both watch designers from AP (and alot of other high end brands) and there are a lot of little elements that show a real understanding of design. Titanium case so it's pretty light and a darker gray with a ceramic bezel. The lume is pretty cool with the 5-minute markers instead of hours so it really fits with the car theme (speedometer). I also love square and cushion style cases and always have since I started collecting. My first real watch.
Someone here has posted wrist shots of their Senator. He won't be disappointed with GO, easily my favorite brand. I could easily see adding the Senator to the collection in the future. Along with many of their other watches. One other watch for him to consider, if he wants dressier but with a little bit of funky vibe, go for the GO Sixties Glacier Blue Chrono. More dressy, less sporty, and only comes on a leather strap. But that dial. And there's probably a bracelet out there that will fit it - check out Forstner.
Yeah, a variety of things. Work got busy and T11 was very technical and that's not how I play which made it very difficult with all the people who have the shootouts dialed in. Expert Tier 3 is a beast so I moved two accounts up to Master exclusively but the remaining 3 accounts were still in Expert due to clubs and just can't compete in Expert Tier 3 and the rewards suck compared to Master. So the enjoyment was low and I'm just not consistent enough with my pulls to shoot any better than -31 or -32 in tournaments. With the practice mode, there are too many people practicing 20, 30, 40x on a single hole and eventually we're at a point where -31 is average at best. My frustration level was way way too high.
Plus, I ended up with 5 total accounts and buying ball packs for all those was very very expensive.
So I stopped playing while work was busy with the intent that I would take a break for a bit and come back with renewed enthusiasm. Wrong. Happy to not be playing.
Agreed, the IWC is a really good choice as well and would be a less expensive option. My biggest gripe with the GP is that its a clear derivative of AP RO/PP Nautilus look. Nothing wrong with that - lots of watches are, and they may have even come out with the Laureato before the Nautilus. I actually like the looks better than either of those watches. But there is some of that baggage there that GO isn't saddled with (at least with respect to this category - they do catch flak for their asymmetric watches looking similar to ALS.
I don't have a Senator so not sure. I would say order it on the bracelet and give the dealer the sizing and have them size it appropriately. My GO has a micro-adjust clasp, so if they get it close, it should be fine. I don't know if I would suggest a watch newbie changing out a strap for a bracelet on a 15k watch. The likelihood of scratching it is pretty high unless they know what they are doing and have good tools. It is a gorgeous watch. The new blue 70s is what I would go with. But as demonstrated in this thread, I'm a bit of a square/cushion-style case fan. I also really love the look of the black subdials against the blue dial on the GP.
I think all of the watches I posted have a bracelet option. If he interested in a GO, I have a contact that may be able to provide a discount if he's looking to by from an AD. @brown water also has a contact at another AD.
Dressier GO Senator or Sportier GP Laureato or GO 70s. Blancpain Air Command is more expensive - not sure what sort of discounts are available. BP Fifty Fathoms is slightly less, but not sure I am a fan of a diver with a Chrono.
Royal Oaks does this. They even threatened the homeowner with collection if I didn't pay (I was a guest). I was doing 20 in a 15 and trying to find the street I was supposed to turn on. Had no idea I was going over the speed limit. $100. Rent a cop police force. My friend got a ticket for parking on the street. That's crazy shit and no way would I live somewhere like that. Yes, it is a little different since its a gated neighborhood, but still over the top.
