  1. This whole course looks like a poorly kept muni. Maybe it has some nice ocean views, but it's ugly.
  2. The new Masraff's on I-10 is excellent and great service.

Feges on Longpoint opens up Sunday for Father's Day apparently. May have to check that out.
  4. This is the best album I've heard in a few years. Just gorgeous.
  5. Thinking about this watch gift, you probably need to have an idea of what he has and what he likes/wants/needs. Maybe he already has a few divers and doesn't really need another but would really appreciate a Pilots watch (Archimedes/Laco). Or maybe divers are all he wears. Maybe he needs a good every day watch for the office because he only has G-shocks and he's going into the business world. I'd try to pick his brain a little and get some insight into his watch interests. Also consider size. If he's small, you may want to stay around 40mm or less. If he's larger, something 38mm may be too small and you may want to look at 40mm+ or larger. My personal recommendation is an original Seiko Cocktail time. Its a little dressy, but a fun, stylish watch. Almost everyone likes it, and its niche enough that you won't be guessing diver vs everyday vs pilot vs field vs dress vs.... It's just a fun watch to throw on for dinner/drinks. Probably around $350-500 online. 40mm so fits most wrists. The strap on it sucks, so I'd suggest getting a third party strap or maybe a mesh bracelet for it. Can probably find something nice for $50 or less.
  6. Check out Zelos and Halios for microbrands. Some really nice looking watches. The Zelos Horizon 43mm has a great dial. Have to find one because they are sold out. Hamilton is always a good choice. Tissot and Christopher Ward are also good brands that have solid watches in that price range. For quite a bit less, a Casioak would be cool. Seiko SRPD009 or a Seiko Cocktail Time. Seiko had some really good watches for inexpensive that have a lot of hard-core followings.
  7. TURV also making a bit of a run today. I can't recall if there was an exit point discussed or not. Is the strategy to get on free shares and let the rest ride?
  8. Yeah, I don't like the 2 door much at all. And it wouldn't work with the family/pet situation. I definitely want to see them in person before making any decision. Don't like that Maverick.
  9. Interesting, I wouldn't be looking at buying until the beginning of next year, but sounds like they are way behind on fulfilling orders. Definitely want the full size and really like the Badlands.
  10. Searched but didn't see anything. Anyone gotten one of the Broncos yet? Thoughts on the different packages? I don't currently do any offroading, but might be something I'd like to take up.
  11. Can't check the Onkyo app until I'm home but it does have Spotify connect along with some other services. It also has Google Cast, so I can stream directly from YTM. Two receivers might be the solution. Hopefully I can just get a second Onkyo but if I need to get two Denons, then I guess that will be what it is and I'll see if we can return the Onkyo. Thanks for the info!
  12. Yeah, except for ARC, it worked fine. The problem happened once we tried to get the TV to play outside. I think I'll try to map it out tonight when I get home. I've had a guy doing all the setup because I get too frustrated trying to get this shit to work. You know anyone in Houston who does this stuff? Yes. The other speakers are running through the Sonos Amp, not the Connect. So thinking about it, I don't know why the speakers (sonarray, not the patio) keep cutting out. Maybe it is a connection issue but everything was just rewired. Hard to imagine that Sonos is the best UI. Its terrible. What is needed is a simple pass through so you can just use the app (Spotify, Tidal, whatever) without a middle man app like Sonos which does not match up with the functionality and options that the apps themselves have. You end up with some bastardized combination of partial functionality.
  13. Yes please.
  14. I'll jump onto this thread since it seems you've solved the original issue. I have a living room wired with 7.1. I also have outdoor patio speakers and an outdoor Sonarray SR1 system (8 speakers/2 subs). I would like the Living Room, Patio speakers, and Sonarray to each have independent volume control and the source can be split to inside/outside (e.g TV inside, Music outside or any combo). I currently use an Onkyo receiver and Sonos Amp and Sonos Connect. None of the speakers are Sonos. To play the TV outside, the Sonos is connected to the TV HDMI Arc port. For some reason, this is creating a huge clusterfuck and the Sonos is automatically switching sources to the various zones, e.g., listening to music outside and it will randomly change to TV, or it will just turn on music inside even with the receiver off - it will turn it on and start playing. I need to get rid of the Sonos. The setup with everything being hard wired and the app just suck. I also think it isn't powering the Sonarray system properly which is resulting in some of the speakers cutting in and out (I just rewired the speakers so that shouldn't be the issue). Currently everything inside runs through the TV and AVR. If the TV is playing anything (OTA, Netflix, Playstation, etc.), and receiver is set to TV, it works and plays the correct input. This is critical because I don't want my kids to have to operate the receiver. To play music inside, you have to change the receiver to Sonos (although it does that all by itself now, even when you don't want it to). This is fine because I don't really care about having the music play inside, just want the ability to have the TV play outside. Everything outside is currently run through the Sonos and doesn't use the receiver (main or 2nd zone). Is there a 3-zone receiver that can handle this easily without the Sonos? Seems like I could set up the inside with the main zone, then add the outdoor patio and Sonarray as Zones 2/3. Would be nice if the outdoor could be grouped and volume adjusted as a whole or independently (this is how the Sonos does it), but it isn't a deal killer to just have to adjust each volume independently. Also, if I ditch Sonos, what are the options for actually playing music through the system using Spotify/YouTube Music/etc. easily through my phone? Are the connect features on the receiver easy to use/operate? Just read about the HEOS above, seems like that might work. However, I don't see YouTube Music listed. I hate YTM, but its also where all of my old albums have been uploaded so would be nice to be able to use it. Also appears the Android app is shit. It needs to be EASY so my wife and kids can operate it.
  15. Got it. Definitely needs dark mode. Seems like it loads pretty quick. Interface is easy to read.
  16. How long before it prompts me to download? Do I need to uninstall Tapa before it will do that? Do I need to visit surly from a specific browser? Honestly I've never gotten the hate for Tapatalk. It's infinitely easier to read and navigate than a mobile website. I even prefer it to a regular website.

  18. Oh, I laughed. I probably laugh more at this thread than the laugh thread.
  19. Holy shit, that was unexpected.
  20. Big fan. By all accounts a great guy and does a ton for other people. His schtick is over the top, but its never really bothered me that much. Probably because I think he's genuinely excited about the people and food on DD&D. It also helps that those places and food are in my wheelhouse. He's living life and having a lot of fun and doing a lot of good for others. Can't fault the man for that. He's the Steve Irwin of greasy, delicious food.
  21. I think its their 3rd location. They were in the house on Post Oak, then moved over to across San Felipe/Post Oak (never went to this location). This is definitely a different look than the original location. Food was very good and the service was excellent. They were apparently really struggling during Covid, but Tony (I'm guessing - its an older guy and not Russell the younger guy) said that since restrictions were lifted a few weeks ago they have been at capacity. Hopefully they make it, I'll definitely go back.
  22. "New" Masraff's on I-10 is great. Food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Meatball and Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers. Both great. I had the short rib, my wife had the red snapper and both were delicious. Creamed Corn and Brussels sprouts for sides. Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert. New location is more modern than the old one on Post Oak. Seafood heavy menu, but something for everyone.
  23. Coody birdie on 18. Looking good. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
