  1. Didn't know about the app, true. This says it all and is probably the reason i dislike it. Just doesn't feel like a car/driving experience.
  2. I drove a 3 as a rental for a week. Fast, but completely soulless and boring to drive. Plus the interior is completely minimalist and uninteresting. It just isn't a sucking experience, just a way to get from A to B, which is fine for a lot of people. Touch screen should not be allowed in cars because you have to look at them to make a selection which requires taking your eyes of the road. Finally the little card that you have to tap to get into the car and then tap again on the center console to start the car is Apple level cute bullshit that is useless and annoying. The regenerative braking absolutely has to be turned off. I also found out when i got a vinyl wrap put on my car that the reason wraps and clear car bras exploded in popularity is because the paint on the 3 (and maybe other Tesla models?) is garbage and easily chips. So a lot of people get wraps installed to help protect the paint. Maybe the other models are better, but I'd never consider getting the 3.

  4. Any Whistler recommendations. I'll ski with the kids 9 and 12, and my wife won't ski. Places/location to stay, much prefer a very short walk or ski-in/ski-out. Place to rent skis? Places to eat? Might spend a couple days in Vancouver, so any suggestions there are welcome. Thanks
  5. Maybe it's because i have larger wrists but the shorter lugs just bug me on all watches.
  6. I hate Perry's and only my wife's hated of them can top it. But I've had a lot of good food and service at CG at the Town & Country location. It's solid. And i know the TFertita is hated by everyone but the Brenner's Steakhouse on I-10 provides good food and service. Much less a business reservation than CG, but it's been really good when my wife and I go.
  7. I can promise that no one is looking stupider than me right now. At least i get to walk in front of a bar to go to Pilates. Should be fun.
  8. Herman was in Katy today with a couple other coaches.
  9. I bought one for my inlaw's guest bedroom for when we stay there. Worth the small investment.
  10. I don't know how voting on this works going forward, but seems like there should be some effort on the part of UT Athletics/CDC to start a campaign for write in votes. This is a bullshit snub and would be a great way to show how UT sticks up for it's own. DD deserves that for the effort he's put in.
  11. Well, just talked to my wife and apparently they both had some fucking salad so I'm not even sure who I'm married to anymore. She did bring me back some bbq though so I guess I can forgive her.
  12. Been pimping the hat. Also, my wife and her friend got some of Champ's meat earlier today. Waiting to see what they bring back for me. hmmm...is phrasing still a thing?
  13. I got the Pampas Salad and my wife got the Pollo Encamisado and I put some of the chicken on my salad. We started with the Taquitos de Malanga. All of it was superb. Previously we've gotten the Empanadas and those are great, the steaks are prevalent (hence the name) but very good and obviously not a typical steakhouse style steak. They have numerous seafood options although we aren't big seafood eaters. The spareribs are great. Have enjoyed the carnitas in the past. Latino Chicken Sandwich was great when I had it about a year ago for lunch. There's more than enough options for someone who doesn't want a steak. And again, the beef filet is not remotely similar to a regular steakhouse filet.
  14. OP also raises another question. All the sudden or All of a sudden?
  15. Dead on. Hit it up a couple times per year for a business lunch. I live pretty close by and only make it by for a dinner maybe once a year and every time I enjoy the hell out of it. A very good example of why it's so tough in the restaurant industry. Everyone goes to the next big thing. My wife and i walked in on Saturday night at 7:30 with no reservation and it was not busy. Everything we had was great, there's a wide selection, and made me wonder why we don't go more often. Even my kids really like it when we've taken them.
  16. Not unanimous at all. I agree. Mine was probably fried with shrimp/seafood so it didn't taste like chicken - the taste was just off, the chicken wasn't tender. Wasn't spicy. Basically crap. The Red Beans and Rice were bland and the fries weren't good. The only decent thing about the experience was that I didn't eat much so I'm healthier for that. I don't love the CFA sandwich, but I know what I'm getting and its fast and consistent.
  17. He actually seems to get how to utilize the resources UT has, unlike Strong. But he's an arrogant prick, brought his subpar coaching staff along, and just isn't a very good coach at this level. Cutting ties quickly is the best way to go, but that isn't happening, so next best thing is to give him the resources to hire and replace nearly everyone else and see if he can pull a Dabo next year. If not, cut bait. Obviously it's tough to get wait assistants to come if you are on the hot seat. Fuck
  18. Not a new restaurant by far, but the last few times I've gone to Churrascos Memorial City the food has been outstanding. Easy to overlook some older places in search of something new, but damn if they aren't putting out good food. Also, had Ike's Love and Sandwiches today. They make a pretty damn good sandwich. We sampled between the Soprano, Menage a Trois, Matt Cain, and Michael Jordan. All on their dutch bread which is good but they have other options. They use Pinkerton's Brisket on the Cheesesteak sandwiches and have another sandwich named for Grant as well. Will definitely give those a shot very soon. In the Heights and worth it. Also not new and not in line with the high end restaurants which are the focus of this thread - a place that just has a great sandwich is World Catering & Bakery. No frills but just a really good sandwich/burger if you need a quick place to grab lunch. The turkey and swiss is just a good quality sandwich and I can't understand why its any better than what I can make at home, but it is. Maybe I just need my wife to make the sandwich or something. Silber just north of I-10.
