    The Gourds

If you ever went to a Gourds concert during the 90s/00s and some drunk dumbass kept yelling for Grave on a Green Hillside, that was me. I've been to probably 30+ Gourds shows. I heard them play this one time live. I love it. Orpheus on a postcard. Indeed, meeting me, in a green field. Meeting me in the dark field.
  2. I love those Nutriagrain bars. Tasty.
  3. So it's not her breast milk? Count me out.
  4. So you are saying the limited had the same tuning as the Raptor?
  5. Sony wh1000mx3 is what I got 6 months ago. You can get them for $300 or so now.
  6. Badass, Hook 'Em Horns! Light that Tower!
  7. When I bought some about 6 months ago the general consensus was that the Sony's were the best and the sound cancelling had surpassed the Bose. I've been happy with them.
  8. He wore flowers the other day but they weren't Roses. I've always liked Rose. He was a phenom and had a ton of pressure when he was a teenager. Struggled and fought back to be one of the best in the world. Needs to fix those shirts though.
  9. Danny Lee swings like he's in a long drive contest.
  10. Rose probably has a solid round today and I could see DJ making a bit of a run.
  11. I love Faldo. Can't wait for Spieth and Koepka in the final round. I think BK plays pretty consistent and shoots 1-3 under. JS could go 76 or 64.
  12. Koepka is just a monster. The club looks like a small stick in his hands. Crazy that someone with that size can have that much control. Having him and JS in the final round the last couple days of this would be awesome. I don't think they necessarily like each other. Their playing styles are completely different. The mental game, while certainly in Brooks' favor now is typically a strength for Jordan in the past. Justin Rose's shirt confused me.
  13. He didn't play on the PGA tour for a while. Now he focuses on majors.
  14. Had a few Suburban's and just got tired of the "meh" service. Upgraded to the Escalade XL and its a piece of shit. Service isn't much better than Chevy. I prefer the look of the Suburban to the GMCs but I guess its worth looking at them. The Expedition seems to be about $80k mostly fully loaded. Navigator is about $100k. Suburban is $75-85k. Next question is, sell me on leasing versus buying. Obviously an upgraded car every three years and lower overall payments are nice benefits. Financially, I haven't looked at it versus buying and seems like most of the good lease deals require 10% down up front which can be significant for an $80k+ car and its a recurring charge every 3 years and you never own the car. We typically keep cars for 7-8 years. 3 cars currently, 1 car payment (the Escalade) which we bought used and can sell for $6-8k more than we owe on it currently. But probably can sell for $20k+ in a couple years after its paid off. We don't put a ton of miles on our cars - 10k per year for the Escalade, 7k/year for my car. So that benefits the lease price but also the potential re-sale value. Seems like buying used with low miles is the best financial decision. Leasing is increasingly popular, which makes me think its an increasingly bad idea for the consumer. TLDR Version Used>New>Lease? or Lease>Used>New?
  15. They are definitely expensive as shit. Basically 90-100k which is crazy. Definitely have to go with the larger size though which cuts out anything Tahoe-sized and the MB. With 2 dogs and two kids and going to the beach regularly, we need the "trunk" space. When I went to the dealer, he said that 2nd role console could be removed. Does the Expedition Max Platinum or whatever come with the Raptor engine? That might be a more reasonable option. At least in the 70-80k range. Struggling with the concept of $100k for a car unless its a high-performance Porsche or something like that. But a fucking Lincoln?
  16. Recently sat down at a bar to grab some food before boarding a flight that was delayed. Guy next to me was FUCKED UP. Belligerent and just a complete ass to the bartender and stumbling drunk. He ends up getting on my plane and started the same shit. I figured shit was going to get ugly, but the pilot came out and they had him removed and he went along with it. I thought I'd end up with some great video of a drunk oilfield guy getting the shit beat out of him by airport security. I ended up with nothing. But at least our flight wasn't delayed any more than it already was. Well handled by the stewardesses and pilots. Popo probably would have shot him. And themselves, and a few passengers. And any dogs in cargo.
  17. Koepka/Spieth final pairing on Sunday would be cool.
  18. So anybody have a Navigator? Looking for something similar to a Suburban/Escalade XL. Seems nice but expensive as fuck.

    Comedy

Brian Regan's old stuff is amazing and clean. His newer stuff isn't as good. Get video from the early 2000's. Not sure there is a someone funnier that is clean. Can't beat classics like Carlin/Kennison/Dangerfield/Hicks/Williams. Love Mitch Hedberg. Love Hedberg. Chris Rock's special in the late 90's was one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Schimmel was amazing. Jeselnik is dark but really good. Tosh's stuff from 10 years ago is great. I like Gaffigan's older stuff. Stanhope/Lewis Black are also great. I saw Ron White at the Capital City Comedy Club in Austin in the mid-90's and cried laughing. I like Bert Kreischer. His older special is better than the newer one. Jimmy Carr is good. Jim Jefferies older stuff is better than his latest.
  20. Anyone looking for a guy in Houston, PM me. Cheaper than a high-end detail, but does a really good job. I'd imagine if you want a professional level detail he could do it, but I haven't actually had him go that far. What he does for less than $100 is plenty for me. Not sure where he's located but I'm at the Beltway/I-10W and he comes at 7 or 7:30 AM sometimes so I imagine he's reasonably in that area of town. He does several houses in our area.
  21. Holy shit Harmony Hall is the catchiest song of the year. Fucking love the piano. Lyrics with VW are always good. Gotta give the rest a spin but hooked already.
  22. Mine came today. Had another but broke the tip.
  23. While annoying, this may be Darwin's greatest achievement and a shift to ensure the survival of humans as a species. Not sure we should stop morons from killing themselves. The downfall of our society now is that we take measures to protect the dumbest of the species whereas these people did not survive and drag down the group in previous generations. I applaud the scooters and the idea of letting dumb people exterminate themselves for the greater good. At least they died while having fun whipping around at 20mph. Win-Win.
