You acknowledge they can issue another update to make it even more difficult or impossible. And you're good with that? I'm assuming the app you are talking about is bxActions - this is from the XDA site:
So I'm going to spend $1,200 on something and have it be unreliable? I developed two apps for Android. I've spent more time than most people learning about everything Android, including making apps work with system services, rooting, installing custom ROMs and all that. I'm done with that. It may be "easy" , but I don't want to have to add a 3rd party app that the manufacturer is actively trying to prevent from working.
Last time I posted on this thread, it was "easy" and all you had to do was sign up for a Samsung account so you could disable it. It wasn't my phone and I wasn't going to spend the time signing up for an account for someone else to make that happen. But even that's not an option anymore. Now the easiest option is an app that is "unreliable" and this is the process (from the XDA website)
Not only that, but it will probably require additional workarounds in the future because Samsung is trying to prevent you from disabling Bixby or 2) set up ADB on your computer and go through a similarly long process and then has to be reset every time you reboot your phone (ButtonMapper).
Seems convenient and easy to me too. Right until it isn't.
