  1. Another watch I would highly recommend although I don't own one yet is the Delft Watch works Oostsport. One of the owners of the brand has another line of watches that are much higher end. But he's a fantastic watchmaker and this is a great looking watch. About $800
  2. Two brands I can definitely recommend I the $750-850 range are the Direnzo DRZ04 and the Orion Hellcat. I also highly recommend the Formex Field on the adjustable strap - sub-$1000. Another microbrand I like for under $1k is the Straum Opphav. Finally, if you like a cushion case, I love the Duckworth Prestex. I think it's sub $750.
  3. Not sure on EOSE, but I did add quite a bit at $1.08. My only green showing right now. Although the recent AMY surge has been very nice to my account. Still in the hole though.
  4. Agreed with this.
  5. Here's a detailed review of another DuFrane watch, the Travis. https://indiesandmicros.com/2022/12/field-report-the-dufrane-travis/
  6. Another great Austin brand is DuFrane. I've heard that he'll let you help with the final assembly of your watch. But haven't tested that out myself. Definitely on my list to add one of these.
  7. It really is - happy I bought one. But I also like squarish watches.
  8. A few wrist shots. My wrist is 18cm.
  9. They wear really well and the curved crystal is cool. Definitely a nice, fun watch. I have the Mockingbird coming in.
  10. No
  11. While I'm at it, there's a microbrand based in Austin, Trafford Watch Co. They just had their Kickstarter for their new Crossroads. The Kickstarter is over and the watches are in production. I received a pre-production model, the Bluebonnet. If you like squarish watches, this is a really great looking watch. The curved crystal is very cool and creates some really interesting effects with the light reflection. And you get to support an Austin-based brand.
  12. Figured this might be of interest. Bausele is an Australian brand that started in 2011. The watches are Swiss-made and Bausele does a lot to support veterans groups. Fellow Longhorn Nate Boyer is a member of their veteran's task force. For their MIL-SPEC watches, they are assembled by veterans and 10% of sales go to veteran's support groups. They are also big into sustainability. Great looking, high quality watches and they support a great cause. I'm supposed to talk with them later today about becoming an affiliate. If you're interested in one of these Bausele watches, let me know - I know the US distributor. https://www.bausele.com/pages/us-army
  13. Yeah, I tried calling the place where I bought it and the one they recommend is the one that has a month+ wait list. I'll try the other dealerships.
  14. My concern is the rear sensor/camera is screwed up, so is that something another body shop can handle?
  15. The BMW repair shop for West Houston BMW isn't taking new cars until mid to late January. Need to find another trustworthy body shop for a minor fender bender repair. Any suggestions? I'm at the Beltway 8/I-10 on the west side so would be nice if it was somewhere in the vicinity, although not a requirement.
  16. Over-inflated self worth and ego, cognitive dissonance, lack of ability to think critically, lack of self awareness, inability to self analyze, superiority complex, blind hatred, small-man syndrome, cultish tendencies, conspiracy-minded, and excuse-making victimhood. Not a combination of traits that lends itself to accurately identifying an issue and correcting it. The problems at A&M are systemic and ingrained in their culture. They'll never be able to correct it because they can't even see it and even if they could see it, they can't ever admit to it. A&M is the last place I would let me kids go to college.
  17. For those holding AMYZF, sure would be nice if something would start happening in first quarter 2023. https://ceo.ca/@GlobeNewswire/recyclico-battery-materials-reviews-2022-highlights SURREY, British Columbia, Dec. 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. 18. Thanks for posting that.
  19. This is probably just outside the "affordable" category at $1200. But I've had a chance to test drive this Typsim watch for a couple of weeks and it's a beauty. Certainly a Submariner vibe, but the dial treatment is fantastic and creates some cool visual effects with its disappearing silver gilt application for the text, minute track, and surrounding the indices. Overall it has a very vintage-y feel in a new watch. You can also get a COSC-Certified version if you're an accuracy fanatic.
  20. Well that's good news.
  21. Yeah, the fish is pretty great.
  22. This is what got Joel Klatt nearly killed in the Box 12 championship Gabe. Dropping back to pass may their own goalline when they were losing by 67 points.
  23. Not in Ameritrade either, which I'm assuming is due to the name change. A little frustrating because that has most certainly tempered a potential recovery after the CEO passed away last week, causing it to plummet.
