  1. She could have made wrist splints before the fire challenge. I don’t get the fire ineptitude. A flint and perfect tinder and kindling provided really just requires steady technique. Also if I recall the fire used to require fuel to get a large fire going as the string was like 3 feet high. Now it’s like 18 inches.
  2. Padma chose to leave and ain’t coming back; she was bored with the show for years. Kish has done well for her first season. I think having a 2nd chef, and importantly a winner that came thru LCK, on the judging panel is good. The show needs serious tweaking as it’s almost a parody of itself. We’ve rewatched all the past seasons as well as the various spinoff series and they are so much better in terms of talent and production. It’s not just TC though. The talent collected for Next Iron Chef and Next FN Star was better too.
  3. He went to Mindhead. Keep up.
  4. Manny is the most one note chef to be on here in years. Most cooks on your typical taco truck have more range than he does.
  5. Charlie had it won and totally screwed the pooch. Misread the room of folks he had played; Kenzie did the best she could until last night and she threw and caught the Hail Mary. She deserved it because the jury gave her the win.
  6. The issue isn’t Wisconsin. It’s production and casting. The cooking has been better in LCK than the show. These are fairly weak chefs; they make a lot of dumb decisions and stupid mistakes.
  7. No doubt Houston will hit 200 degrees + 200% humidity this July. Life sucks.
  8. You gotta wonder if he orders in a restaurant like that.
  9. I game could have had so many different results if these morons had played their idols. I think if Q played his and Charlie had gone, Maria likely goes to finals and wins. She should be back for any allstars season; one of the best to play deep and not make it as she was strong in challenges and social. Charlie came across so arrogant and Kenzie as humble and playing her best game. Liz’s delusions that if she made it to top three she had it won were ludicrous. Announcing herself as a millionaire not needing the money is a path to zero. So fucking annoying. She will be yammering about how she nearly won survivor til she dies.
  10. That might have been the worst regional specialty dish I’ve ever seen. I’m always seeking out these oddball regional things and have never heard of this, and I used to have friends in Madison and Milwaukee and they loved the beer/sausage/supper club/ cheese stuff and I never heerd of fish boil. I would imagine Tom and Gail read the producers the riot act about it. They looked appalled, especially the kerosene flying into the pots. That king of fish boil guy looked like he only liked the fire throwing part. Boiled white fish, plain potatoes, kerosene. Hospital bland diets looked better. Manny is that guy that somehow stays in by making the next to last dish every week. Sorry manny but guac and store chips aren’t a side. You have to wonder if prime years playboy could have enticed Gail and Padma for a pictorial.
  11. In the past it has not been allowed. What if instead of helping Kenzie, Liz had grabbed Maria’s board and run down the beach with it. Interesting how many changed their votes based on the jury interrogation. I think Charlie blew it and Kenzie nailed it.
  12. Did not like Liz being allowed to assist Kenzie in an individual immunity challenge. Probst should have stopped that.
  13. Padma and producers nearly scratched Houston because of Texas politics , and because Houston rejected most of their funding requests. Bravo wants to act like it’s the fucking Super Bowl.
  14. That’s the problem. The show runs on funding from cities. It’s why Houston had so much of the season outside of Houston. If Pocahontas, Arkansas paid enough money the show would go there. They are also political so it’s unlikely they go back to Florida, and they nearly scratched Houston. No way they go to Tennessee and likely no more New Orleans. The location has been less and less a part of the show for years. One Wisconsin chef. Too frequent reaches for tie ins to movies and other shows like the awful chaos show with fuckwit Matty matheson (with the far superior Christina Tosi relegated to a QF. ).
  15. The only way they got chefs in masters like Rick bayless and Hubert Keller was the minimal time commitment of the brackets. There’s a trade off with the current format. For every Buddha or Voltaggio or Izard you’re going to get a lot of frogs, like this Wisconsin crew. I believe LCK is an advantage for a lot of the chefs sent there. Quick fast cooking, avoiding those grueling two day festivals, And getting a load of one on one time with Tom can’t hurt.
  16. Chang’s show is a mess. It could be really good but I’d like a better slate of guests, that have at least a bit of culinary knowledge. Some of these folks are just plain ignorant of basic food knowledge. Half the dishes aren’t shown or discussed much. It’s live so that’s good and bad.
  17. I think Soo was perfect for QuickFire style cooking in LCK. That might not translate completely to the regular show, especially team challenges. I’m rooting for either him or Michelle. The rest are shitballs. Part of the issue of the show now is the time requirement for participating. It limits the chefs they can recruit. I think they make a change to the old Top Chef Masters format which greatly reduces the time commitment which would attract better chefs. So 4 chefs are in a bracket, cooks two or three challenges, winner moves on to next bracket. Takes one or two days commitment.
  18. You know ow your stomach will stretch. You should have gotten both.
  19. They can’t. Their cop claimed injury, plus his pants got ripped.
  20. You would think after Tiger drove off the fucking Cliff their insurers would require the players have a driver but most drive themselves. Every tournament has a huge fleet of courtesy cars for players and staff. They almost always have a big door sticker saying PGA Championship Courtesy Car from Louisville Lexus. The cop would have seen. Was the police chief already on site due to the fatality accident at the big tournament, likely caused by ineptitude directing traffic by his crew? Would have loved to have been in the room when the mayor saw this news bomb his phone. Or the PGA management. Or the governor. Or the DA. And then would have liked to hear the calls and see the texts. Surprised the charges weren’t dropped by the prosecutor already. The cop and city of Louisville are going to be facing lawsuits from Scottie, the PGA, Disney. Scottie should sue Kentucky for 3x the amount of his taxes on his earnings. This cop should not have put out his social media statements. He is about to get crushed.
  21. Always love a gray horse. Seize the Gray is such a beautiful horse. Mystic Dan ran a great race. I hate em in the mud.
  22. Netflix has started to figure out the power of live event streaming. I guess David Chang’s mostly bad live cooking show was the first; it’s live across the globe. Then the roast. They got two Christmas Day nfl games in 24. The roast would have been better being tighter at 90 minutes, with fewer unknown comics, Kraft, Bill, and others on tape, and unrelated cameos. Will Farrell as Ron Burgundy just sucked balls. The walk alongs in the audience sucked too. Jeff Ross is now irrelevant.
  23. Satan doesn’t want his annoying shit brain self around. Killing McNair literally and then VY’s career earns him his spot in eternal hell. I’d like to see him at USC in some admin post. He’d wreck all their programs in a heartbeat.
  24. BMI/ASCAP dont fuck around. They’d rather make nothing vs negotiate a tenth of a cent off. The artists themselves aren’t getting it and would usually prefer the exposure.
