  1. Texas plays the #35 scoring offense of Georgia 6 days from now, but won't actually face a REAL offense until the showdown against the vaunted #50 ags at the end of November. Sure, Jan.
  2. They'll do the exact same thing after the Horns beat Georgia on Saturday.

    RIP Chuy's

Yeah Shady Grove was just an awesome place. It didn't open until 1992 so it can't really be lamented as a "loss of old Austin" but it was a fantastic place to eat, listen to music, drink beer and margaritas, and hang out, for the 3 decades it was open. Lakeview Cafe' was another great place, but that one was done in by its own management's short-sightedness when they decided to move from the hill down onto the water and become the "Lodge at Lakeview" and then a half-dozen other things that all failed to varying degrees.
  4. 100%. Go to CDC with your issues, he really does react to fan concerns when he can. The State Fair and the City of Dallas want to keep this game, they've put a lot of money into renovations over the past 20 years and they're putting a lot more into it now. Most of the issues can be addressed with some common sense and some properly applied pressure.
  5. Mizzou only scored 10 against the ags and although they have some talent on the d-line, that's NOT a good defense. OU could certainly win that game. I also don't think all that much of LSU or Ole Miss. Those aren't guaranteed losses for the sooners, either. Honestly I think the ags might be right-- Texas really did destroy the SEC by joining.
  6. JerryWorld will never be an option, this take always cracks me up. The only thing keeping it at the Cotton Bowl is tradition. The millionaire and billionaire luxury suite owners in Austin and Norman aren't about to let the game move to Jerry's stadium where they'd be forced to kiss Jerry's ring and rent out suites from him. If this game ever leaves the Cotton Bowl, it'll go home-and-home so that Longhorn and sooner BMDs can host the biggest rivalry game in all of football, in their own suites.
  7. Man next weekend is going to be one for the ages. Formula 1, plus ESPN College Gameday and then the Georgia game Saturday night. Gonna be epic.
  8. Yup same here. I like using rehydrated chiles but there's no reason you can't just use chile powders-- it's good enough for the competition cooks. Beef/venison is always a great combo.
  9. $50 is a heck of a deal for that pit, congrats.
  10. blacklab appears fit to be tied.
  11. Not me. Daytime is the tradition. It's perfect as it is.
  12. Interesting map showing regional power statistics for renewables and low-carbon generation. https://app.electricitymaps.com/map
  13. Well yeah, because just one year earlier we'd had a 38-20 halftime lead that we completely blew. Of course, that Texas team was kind of terrible at everything, so...
  14. As I recall you're married to a hot Slovakian (is there any other kind?). Feel free to post pics of her... Edited to keep on topic: Bart Venereal thinks Slovakian women are ugly.
  15. Man I sure hope so! One of the absolute lowest points for me, as a Longhorn fan, occurred after Mack's second Debacle in Dallas, the 65-13 beat-down in 2003. I stuck around for the entire game, sitting and chatting with Robert Brewer who is best friends with a friend of mine. (That's not the low part, that was actually great!). We were three of probably fewer than two hundred Texas fans left at the end. After the game came to its merciful end, and we'd sung the Eyes, I made my way back into the food pavilion to grab some tater tots and meet up with my friends as I always do. I was standing in line behind a Sooner chatting quietly with a friend of mine, and as the Sooner finished ordering, he turned around and told the guy behind the bar "Also, throw in 2 beers for these guys." He asked what we wanted, we ordered, thanked him, and then talked to him for a while. Heck of a nice guy, and he actually felt sorry for us and was very polite and respectful When a Sooner is polite and respectful to you, at the State Fair, and buys you beer-- well that's about as low as a Longhorn can feel. It almost felt worse than the 1991 Cotton Bowl. Aside from the hypothermia and frostbite of course.
  16. Might be time to change the name from Fulmer Cup, to Kirby Cup.
  17. Except for @TXSooner518. Guards will be posted at all gates and the moment they hear a Sooner exclaim "muledick" they will apprehend him and escort him off the premises. Not even @Constant 's billy club and inoperable body cam will be enough to save him.
  18. Unsurprisingly, ALL of his "facts" are wrong. The 133 schools he's talking about are all FBS. None of them are FCS. Yup, I think you're right.
