  1. Maybe we'll get a scene of them all drinking margaritas at the Chelsea Street Pub in what's left of the Starcourt Mall!
  2. We're absolutely going to find out whether or not the courts agree with you.
  3. Oh sure, the statute is rescinded. But now come the court cases. They're already happening. There will be more.
  4. Yeah it's up to the NFL to protect its draft process, if they deem it necessary. It's certainly not the job of college football to do so.
  5. For sure. What's confusing is, apparently others like to hear him talk, too?
  6. This is one way to look at it. But another is that, just like scholarships, revenue paid directly to athletes is another manner to influence and affect educational opportunity offered to women vs. men. And if more money is being paid to men, or men's sports, then you're right back in the middle of a Title IX issue. None of them are employees, they're still considered students, so Title IX implications could still be in effect. I expect plenty of Title IX cases to be filed, and so I suppose the courts will have their say in the matter.
  7. Suffice to say-- it's never going to rain again.
  8. All floodgate operations along the Highland Lakes have ceased as of 1:04 PM today. There are still some relatively strong flows into Buchanan and so consequently the level there has now risen to just above 1020. And inflows to Lake Travis have slowed and the increases are leveling off, current level is 673.29 and climbing slowly now. We'll probably see some residual runoff continue into Lake Travis over the next few days, increasing lake levels by inches rather than feet at a time, but without any further rain events in the immediate future, the effects of this most recent rain event are effectively over.
  9. Well at east we know he can't get pregnant.
  10. I think my friend parks in a lot on 812 toward 130. It's less than a mile to the entrance at the main grandstands.
  11. Texas should also look into beating Ohio State, and other various schools on the schedule.
  12. Miller "Genuine Draft" and Michelob "Golden Draft" and Coors "Extra Gold" in the 80s, even before all that.
  13. Heh, it was a fad for a while in the 90s. Either just before, or just after, all of the "dry" beers that the macros tried to market. And then let's not forget the "clear" craze!

    Emmy 2025

I love the show but The Bear as a comedy is just... no, just no.
  15. It'll be 3.5 years since the end of season 4, so I suspect folks will be ok with waiting another few weeks between the first and last episodes of season 5.
  16. Yeah, Lake Travis is starting to level off a bit over the past few hours. But the streamflows into Buchanan are still very strong, and it continues to rain out west. A continuation of this pattern over a few more days, and 680 isn't out of the question over the next couple of weeks.
  17. Here are a couple of before and afters that CBS-Austin posted a couple of days ago. Travis is up another 5-7 feet since these were taken.
  18. Oh yeah. Always. But for now, we're not counting down 'tall.
  19. I've avoided this thread because it was so depressing. Not quite as bad now...
  20. Yup. As I mentioned before, I have pictures of myself from December 1991, canoeing through my best friend's Volente lakehouse when the water was at 710. But that was a special circumstance. Right now with no massive flooding occurring downstream, they'd be safe to release if the water rises above 680. I don't think the current rain event is going to quite get us there, but every time the rains out west seem to end, more comes along. So it's still possible we'll hit 680 within the next week or so.
  21. It has but it wasn't a good situation. They'll hold it up into the 690s if they have to, in order to avoid creating dangerous situations downstream. But if it's safe downstream, they'll release at 681 or so.
  22. Hasn't broken 100 yet at my house in all of 2025 so far, and long range forecast has it staying under 100 pretty much for the rest of July. That's about all I can ask for.
  23. Beef back ribs. Not my favorite but they're alright.
  24. My buddy parks at a lot that's less than a mile walk to main grandstands, think it costs him $30 or something? It's not bad for COTA prices, and that's about the same distance from my tailgate party to the DKR-TMS entrance gate. I'll ask him where it is. And you'll have a good time on Friday, it's actually my favorite day of the weekend for just general car-watching and people-watching, enjoying the spectacle. It's not as crowded. It's even better and more interesting IMO now that it's a sprint weekend.
