  1. I've pulled up many anchors with my own anchor over the years. You gotta love Lake Gifts.
  2. Local mom and pops aren't typically open at 2 AM.
  3. When I was in high school in Austin back in the day, you could get a Sonic Brown Bag special for $4 when they were running the promotion. That's 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 drinks, for $4. My buddies and I would hit it up at lunchtime every day for the entire duration of those promos, which was usually a month or so per semester, and we would feast. But then they started sponsoring AISD by providing book covers, along with ButterKrust Bakery, and Big Red soft drink. But on the Sonic book cover, they'd include a coupon for a burger/fries/drink combo for $2. On the first day of school, my friends and I raided every single pile of Sonic bookcovers in the school, and cut out that Sonic coupon from each one, and then discarded the mangled and molested book cover carcasses back on the pile. We had hundreds of those coupons and then we didn't even need the Brown Bag Special. Twas glorious.

    Burgers

12 best burgers in the USA according to some internet publication I've never heard of. Leroy and Lewis representing. https://www.theinfatuation.com/all/guides/best-burgers-america?utm_campaign=cm&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_site_source_name=fb&utm_audience=nat&fbclid=IwY2xjawEWJJ9leHRuA2FlbQEwAAEdDG55pCuXFNfC4BM8s8FsAOvo5D4JeRTqYTkzDnsaoO-jP398BT9dCTyk_aem_Nkdo_AOXLShGAH0mD-vWrg
  6. It was classic forcefield yesterday watching two separate, solid walls of rain move from the south up toward Austin and then just evaporate when they got near the city limits. With a spoon.
  7. Agreed, and same goes for "You're The One That I Want" from Grease. Just had me rolling in my seat.
  8. Saw it last night, tons of fun, absolutely perfect for what it was supposed to be. I really enjoyed all the meta moments, like...
  9. Amen brutha, I'm your Ferrari huckleberry. Not to jinx the team, but in general the in-race strategy over the last few races seems to have slightly improved from "absolutely tragic" to "not going to cost your 10 places." Could be that Vasseur is having a positive influence on the team? Again, not gonna speak too soon, there's plenty of time for Ferrari to Ferrari things up.
  10. Wow that sucks so bad for George. He had a hell of a drive. As far as the race, Spa never fails to deliver. Absolutely my favorite track on the circuit.
  11. If F1 were the Olympics (stolen from F1 group on Facebook):
  12. Yeah that was some nifty driving from Chuck. Would love to see him hold up in front tomorrow, although the car likely doesn't have the pace.
  13. I don't read SECrant or give a rat's ass about what random SEC internet fans think of the Texas Longhorns. You would all be wise to do the same.
  14. It's always easy to spot these yokels coming from a mile away, and I just refuse to engage. I pretend I don't know anything at all about the ag football program, because it's just the easiest way to get by. If they insist on talking to me about it even after I've politely refused to engage, then I nod and smile and say "oh yeah, that Purdue guy and other transfers sound pretty good. I'm looking forward to the game this year, should be a lot of energy." And I leave it at that.
  15. First, we're going to need Nicole to stop killing so many people. Or, at least, dump the bodies in the ever-present freshly poured concrete foundations of newly constructed mixed-use buildings, rather than Town Lake.
  16. Good thing we don't use enough rail in the US to ever fall under such an attack. We're thinking 3 steps ahead of those terrorist bastages!
  17. Just got tickets to see it Sunday night, I am so excite.
  18. Oh yeah, I'm not talkin about the operation that they chose to warn them about to shut down. I'm just referring to the idea that our reps were "unnerved" by Ukraine attacking the bridge and making attempts to liberate occupied Crimea. What a bunch of pansies. If that's "unnerving" to them, then they're really gonna lose their shit when Ukraine succeeds in blowing that bridge off the face of the planet. I'm hopeful @atomheartbevo's assessment is correct and that this was the feeling from before we knew that putin's redlines are not real. But given how generally wimpy our approach has been to this whole thing, I have my doubts.
  19. From the article above-- if these actions are bothering US politicians and diplomats, they better get used to the idea of a lot more. That bridge is eventually coming down one way or another. Ukraine will do it completely without our involvement as they've already proven. The idea that our pansy-ass diplomats are bothered by this is infuriating, and frustrating.
