  1. It was an obvious dive-bomb with zero chance of success unless the other driver changes everything in order to avoid your dumb ass. A textbook Max dick move and he and Lewis are both lucky they somehow touched tire to tire, or that collision would have been far worse. Sounds like Lewis called it a racing incident simply because somehow the idiot stewards didn't come into it saying it was entirely Max's fault-- which it was. I guess he figured his best defense was just saying "racing incident" so he didn't get blamed for Max's fuckup. You could hear that idiot getting more frustrated and angry on the radio throughout the race, and it was obvious to me that he was about to do something really dangerous. After he smashed into Lewis I would have black-flagged his ass and told him he was done for the day.

    RIP Chuy's

Living in Mexico made you insufferable about American attempts at an American style of food named Tex-Mex? That's... weird.
  3. 1.33" and counting in NW Travis. Sweet beautiful rain.
  4. Stiles Switch in Cedar Park is good. Better and much more consistent than their N. Lamar location IMO.
  5. We've been saying it all along:

    Pizza

Conan's still my absolute favorite pizza in Austin. Long live the Savage on Whole Wheat!
  7. I had a personal system that got bricked by bitlocker when MS pushed an update to it, and it triggered the bitlocker into safety mode. Only problem was, I had no idea what bitlocker was, and had never actually activated it, so no key had ever been generated.
  8. So is Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 about to lose a sponsor?
  9. Have they asked him why he expects to just come in and dominate the SEC, and also have they asked him why he and all Texas fans whine so much about horns-down and insist that it should be an automatic ejection and loss of down?
  10. And don't forget how we clowns in Austin were "stewing in irrelevancy" doing meaningless things like making the College Football Playoff, winning multiple national championships in volleyball, golf, tennis, track and field, swimming and diving, and rowing. All while the incredibly relevant ags were winning national championships in... meat judging.

    Mad Men

San Andreas was not a good movie but it had both Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario in it, so of course I watched the entire thing.
  12. Ain't no such thing as too much money. And just my personal opinion, I loathe ALL of those humpy hunchy small SUV or crossovers or whatever you want to call them, type of vehicles. I don't care if they're track monsters or super fast or super elegant or whatever, they just look terrible. Cars should look like cars, and SUVs should look like SUVs. Preferably, like THIS:

    Mad Men

I see what you're saying. It's a different show, for sure. But I think it had to change. I don't think I could have tolerated 7 years of the same show that spanned seasons 1 to 3. Personally, I saw enough, and I don't think the show would have held my interest if it only offered more of the same, year after year. The fact that Don loses the tether to reality that Betty and his family represented, makes the final few seasons even darker and more heartbreaking. The dichotomy between what is, and the idyllic fantasy of what might have been, is gut-wrenching at times.

    Mr Gatti's

Cry no longer, Mr. Gatti's Far West is back, just a couple doors down from its old spot.
  15. Sankey dismissed Kurt's dumbass quite nicely.

    Mr Gatti's

When I was at UT for undegrad (1990-1994) there where three super-cheap pizza brands that operated around campus. Gumby's, Pizza Time, and Pizza Classics. You could get a large of any of them for like, $4.
  17. Well our fanbase is obviously correct, so he can go fuck himself.
  18. Solid so far, who are the final 2?

    Mr Gatti's

For me it's the sauce. It just has some extra, special tang or zip to it, that no other place has. It's the defining flavor of Mr. Gatti's for me, and it hasn't changed in over 40 years.
  21. I don't think taunting rules should exist. Football players aren't fragile babies, they can handle it. But as long as taunting rules exist, then horns-down is a taunt, just the same as a throat-slash gesture or standing over a player or anything else that's been deemed against the rules of taunting in college football over the past 3 decades. This isn't difficult. If fans do it, that's not taunting. If opposing players and coaches are doing it among themselves over on their own sideline, it's not taunting. If someone does it aimed directly at a a Texas player, then of course it's taunting. Same as any number of other gestures or actions whose sole purpose is to taunt your opponent. Only stupid people don't understand this.

    Mr Gatti's

My Gatti's were Far West, Anderson Lane, or 183/Balcones Woods Drive. So many birthday parties and after-game events, then high school lunches. Then of course in college, the Gatti's on MLK was a lifesaver when you were a poor broke and starving college kid. Now Gatti's is the only fast-food-chain pizza my kids will eat, so we still end up getting it once or twice per month. Tastes exactly the same to me, and the ranch does indeed still slam and go hard.
  23. But this is precisely why Ferrari is what it is. That completely incestuous internalized culture. Look back to times when an outsider came in and shook it up-- Michael Schumacher or Nikki Lauda-- and good things happen. But no, can't have that. Too much winning is bad for the kids. Or something.
