Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

More examples of ags insisting on hero-worshipping their coaches instead of just letting them be professionals who are paid to do a job. Like Charlie Brown with the football, they just do it over and over again. -

If he's proposing that ags finally shut up and leave us alone, then I'm all in. Great strategy, keep it up! Punish us some more! -
Having a chairman that is excited about UT athletics is much better than having one that is indifferent or opposed.

Yeah I thought Max had matured and improved but it turns out he’s only tolerable when he’s in the fastest car running way out front. He’s terrible when challenged. As discussed many times on this thread the penalty just isn’t harsh enough when you wreck a guy out and cause a DNF. You should get the same result and zero points. Max and Horner, such little birches.

1) If you're doing it secretly, then how is anyone going to ever find out? Oh yeah right, the "screenshots." It's been a week, let's see them! Surely that's enough time for the ags to fake them even if they accidentally misplaced them. Shoot I could have AI generate some fake screenshots in about 0.08 seconds. 2) Their assistant coach who we have just discovered was actually basically the head coach for the past several years, was an unpaid assistant until a year ago. So, wow, that's some serious trust Schloss placed in such a young guy. Oh that's right, Schloss was so busy lying and swinging that he had no idea what was going on inside the program, anyway. -

Yeah it's a fantastic gig for him, as long as he can put up with all the extracurricular ag crap. Some coaches are better than others at doing it. But ultimately, that's what the money's for. -

More ag chatter on the "tarnished reputation" that is only visible to the most secluded of ags. Those yahoos not only think their message board parroting represent the views of all ags, but they think it represents the views of all sports fans. But I had several conversations with real-world non-message-board ags at work throughout the week. Mostly engineers and mostly sane people. They're disappointed Schloss left, and especially for UT. They're concerned about who their next coach will be but hoping they can land a good one. They're not talking-- at all-- about some "tarnishing" that occurred during the move. They know they stole Schloss from TCU in the exact same way. As for regional and national news-- nobody outside of College Station is talking about "tarnishing" at all, and the story only lasted maybe a day, anyway. The slant to pretty much ALL of the non-ag-written stories was, Texas dunked on little brother, and it's going to make the rivalry more intense. That's all, seeya in November when there's more to report. Message board ags have got to be the dumbest people on the planet. -
Summary: Condition: The thing was obviously really dirty. Lots of caked up grease and grime on the grates, sides, lid, everywhere. Burner 3 from right would shoot out flames at me. Burner 4 from right was very hard to light. The ceramic flavorizer/heat distribution bricks had mostly disintegrated, and tons of it had fallen through to the bottom. The cast stainless steel burners were heavily covered with surface rust but otherwise in good shape. The igniters/gas collector boxes were completely rusted through and had broken off and fallen into the basin. The carryover tubes at the back were badly rusted but only one was completely broken. The knobs were corroded and the inserts were all melted and misshapen from the heat, so they didn't really work for turning the D-type valves. Steps: I took it all apart so I could clean it. First I tried to wash the grates with degreasing soap and water, that did nothing. Power-washing helped a little. But really, the only real progress occurred after I took the angle grinder with a wire cup wheel to it. I also used the angle grinder and wire cup to clean all the rust off the stainless steel burners, that was really rewarding. All of the holes were fine, but after washing with vinegar and grinding the rust off, I went back and blew it all out with pressurized air. The old knobs were shot, I ordered inexpensive replacement knobs to replace them. Two valves were shot, I pulled both and took them apart to inspect them and one was really sticky, the other had some broken bits inside. Bought two new ones to replace-- they're almost identical except they're built upside down, odd but liveable. I replaced all three igniter/gas collectors and I replaced the electric automatic igniter switch. None of that had EVER worked since we bought the house, now it's all like new. The rear gas carryover tubes are in rough, rusted out shape, but only one was completely broken. I confirmed the others still work, and I'm having a buddy who works at a metal fab shop make up a new one for me to replace the last one. The new igniter/collectors also act as carryover tubes at the front, so everything works basically as designed, until I can get that new fabbed piece in there. I replaced the flavorizer/heat dissipator ceramic bricks, with the new style ceramic plates that the newest version of my grill uses. That all makes it sound easy but so much of the grill pieces were assembled with stainless steel screws and bolts and nuts and washers, and they were all thoroughly rusted into place. I spent a lot of time with the angle grinder cutoff wheel just sawing through stainless steel, and a lot of time with the Dremel tool and diamond cutoff wheels for the smaller more hard-to-reach places. Every single burner had to have the rusted-out bolts cut off, all three igniters had left rusted trim pieces bolted to the side, etc. It took a lot of time. Total cost for materials came to just over $200. As discussed in this thread above, the cheapest whole drop-in replacement I could find, would have been $700 uninstalled. And the actual direct replacement for my exact grill, would have been around $4,000 uninstalled. This unit has extremely heavy duty cast stainless steel burners and the rest of it is very well built, so I'm pretty happy I went and rehabbed instead of buying a cheaper new one. For anyone interested, I tried a dozen different ways to clean the stainless-- Barkeepers Friend, is definitely your friend.

They keep talking about UT's and Schloss' "tarnished" image. They can't comprehend that their view is limited solely to internet message board bullshit homers. Not even local news is carrying any stories about "the tarnishing." The national news is just talking about how Texas dunked on little brother and it might serve to rekindle the rivalry. But nobody other than ag message board homer articles, are talking about "the tarnishing" at all. They live in the hollowest of echo chambers. -

It's just so incredible, they're comparing their two different options on how to release the details that the original liar has already admitted didn't actually happen. They're giddy with excitement over whether they should release the non-existent details slowly, in an effort to harm Schloss and Texas as strategically as possible, or just expose all of the non-existent details in one big bang of a court trial. How they're going to get a non-existent case with zero factual details into the courts, is left to us, the readers, to ponder over in delighted satisfaction. -

I have a feeling this stop, and this photo op, are going to become part of UT lore-- like going to take a picture of "Dom" outside of Lajitas. -
Surely the greatest fans in the world would never do such a thing. It must be a misunderstanding. My guess-- a kindly ag was giving him directions to the stadium, when he feinted and fell into the man's arms. Accidentally, as he was saving this longhorn's life, his elbow might have tapped him on the back of the head. I'm certain it was something like that.

It's been posted a few times within the last couple of days on one of the many theads skewering the ags' hysteria and hypocrisy. Either this one, the Show Me a Schloss, or the A&M thread on the football board, or the A&M screenshot thread on 9.95. I'm sure someone will post it again soon, it's just too good. -
It's amazing to me that we are now finding out just how many people knew so many details about this impending coaching change well before it happened, and yet it still came as a complete shock to the entire college sporting world, with not a murmur until the final day of the CWS. That's just crazy!

In cases like this, I always wonder how they come up with their lies that they then repeat until it becomes their truth? Is there, like, a special committee in charge of it? Do they hold weekly meetings to determine which events will aggrieve them to the point that they need to make up a lie? Is there some metric, like a Richter scale of Ag Anger, that helps them determine the magnitude of the insult and the resulting lie that must be told to "correct" it? Or is lying just so innate for aggies that it comes about organically? Could be JoeAg82 this time, and OlSarge 63 the next? It just bubbles through the cesspool of their moronic common clay consciousness, percolates for a while in the sewers of their imagination, and then suddenly springs forth unto their keyboards, like Athena bursting full-grown from Zeus' head after Hephaestus took to him with an axe? Inquiring minds want to know.
