  1. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check it out. I love reading their story.
  2. Well the space is already built out for BBQ. I should open a BBQ restaurant there. Surely it would work for ME...
  3. Binged it over the past week and really enjoyed it. I never played the games, my video gaming days ended with Doom in the early 90s. But of course there were definitely some Doom vibes in this show. Looking forward to S2.

    Outlander

Between those, and the Scottish history, I enjoyed the first few seasons well enough. Ultimately I got bored after season 4 or 5. My wife continued watching without me.
  5. Yup that's the way mine works. You'll get quicker and quicker at removing and replacing those slide in windows. I bought a special carrier bag that fits behind the back seats, that they slip into so I can take them with me. It keeps them upright just behind the seats, so it doesn't intrude on the cargo space much at all.
  6. My wife's cousins have a booth up there, so she goes to visit them occasionally and I've never once had to make the trip. She only comes home with a couple of useless items every now and then, so I count myself lucky. Yup I like T22 and dang hot is plenty. I'm not 22 anymore, I don't need to attempt to make the Wall at Plucker's or anything.
  7. That was such a crazy race! I linked the whole thing above, anyone who's never seen it should definitely watch.
  8. Good. If I can't get my lava runoffs, then less asphalt, more gravel, is always a good thing.
  9. Stroll uses his teeth too much, or what?
  10. I like @ChiTownDoc, I'm a big fan of his work around here, and he's a heck of a guy, for being a golderned sooner. But I don't think his brags ever really qualify as "humble." Also, aren't you married, ChiTown? To a hot Slovakian as I recall? You better be careful, there...
  11. Yup. Droughts end in floods, same as it ever was. There will be a time when LT is sitting at 685 and nobody will believe it was 630 just _____ months ago. But the cycle is almost certain to lengthen and the amount of time spent below 670 will become greater and greater, over time. _______
  12. "I know one ag that told me Michigan has been gutted, they lost their coach and many of their top players, and that necessarily implies they'll be terrible this year and if Texas doesn't win it'll be an embarrassment for the entire UT program. And during the next sentence he told me that the ags were going to be much improved, despite losing pretty much their entire coaching staff, and many of their top players. Same as Michigan. And yet different. I didn't bother to respond.
  13. I'd just like to point out that I'm not part of the argument about whether or not "rain bomb" is a stupid or annoying phrase, I don't care one way or the other. I'm simply commenting that the first time I ever heard it used was about the Marble Falls rain event in 2007, and that it was not used regarding the Memorial Day flood of 1981, at the time of that event. You know, for the record.
  14. Trattoria Lisina is good and the setting is great for a date night. It's another restaurant from the Mandola's folks.
  15. I spent half a day helping sandbag my friend's house that backed up to Shoal Creek, and I spent almost the entire next day helping them pump/sweep/shovel out all of the water and sludge that burst past our sad sandbagging efforts. Ain't nobody ever said the words "rain bomb" in May 1981.
  16. Yup the 2007 Marble Falls event was the first time I ever remember hearing the term.
  17. Yeah I like the slant-back soft top better than the square one. That's what I put on my Jeep.
  18. You're right about that. I doubt they'll have a 2-meat plate for that very reason. I'm anticipating a "tasting menu" that will have "small plates" of various smoked meats. A fancy small plate of brisket for $10 sounds a lot better than $80/lb, nevermind that you're only getting 2 oz of meat...
  19. I'm assuming they'll be able to bleed it down over time by releasing waters downstream? How long might that take? And do they generate hydroelectric from the Waco dam?
  20. Also, I'm a little surprised it's so difficult to do the swap. I think Bestop makes the OEM soft tops for both Jeep and Bronco, and on our Jeep it's super-easy to swap back and forth. I can do it in bout 15 minutes at this point, and all hardware was included with the soft top (that I bought after-market but it's the same as what Jeep will sell you straight from the factory). I assume that as the Bronco platform matures, more of this stuff will end up plug and play, as it is with the Jeeps.
