  1. Back in my day the UT grounds crew used to walk through campus firing shotgun blanks to scare away the grackles.
  2. Wait, Texas isn't until Day 3? I thought we had already taken over and ruined the conference. I'm quite disappointed.
  3. One advantage to the portable generators is that they're portable and you can use them for other things. Tailgating, camping, etc. Definitely get the inverter type. They're more expensive for a reason. Stabil does a great job at minimizing that.
  4. Big Ten greed has led to Big Ten expansion which has resulted in every major conference shift since 1990. It's remarkable to me the mental gymnastics that some people will perform in order to somehow pin Big Ten greed on Texas. Ags aren't the only ones, either. I post on another message board that's heavily B1G-oriented, and even after those assholes watched their own conference commissioner announce expansion in 2009, then scoop up Nebraska in 2010, they still somehow decided to blame Texas greed for "destroying" the B12 even though Texas is the one that stayed, and shit-ass Nebraska is the one that left for more money,
  5. Exactly. The SEC desperately needs cupcake teams like Vandy, Miss State, and Texas A&M, for the big guys to beat up on.
  6. Time to rename the thread?
  7. 80s frat boys, is there anything they CAN'T do?
  8. Where is Frank Erwin when you need him? He'd already have that thing down, lighting dynamite in his mouth like a cigar and swinging a 5,000 lb wrecking ball with his bare hands.
  9. So... an extension cord? I just use Stabil for all gas going into my small engine equipment. Buying several bottles of it and having it ready to go tends to be easier than finding ethanol-free gas when I need it.
  10. Well I'd certainly provide her a seat.
  11. That's pretty darn cool!
  12. Word up. A few months back, the water heaters in my house failed, and it took a few days to get my handyman around to replace them. So I just pulled the RV out of storage a couple miles up the road, parked it alongside the house, and we had hot water and showers.
  13. I have a friend in Indiana who's already had more rain from the hurricane than we got in Austin. So frustrating, so typical.
  14. Both front seats leaned well-forward, giving plenty of room in the back.
  15. One of my high school girlfriends drove one like this, the back seat was pretty small but we made it work.
  16. Take it to the rain thread, ya heartless bastage!
  17. I just discovered your mistake.
  18. That's cool. I'm glad you got a good soaking the other day. Not everyone did, and the hurricane's rains would have been more than welcome. Especially further west and along the Lake Travis recharge zone.
  19. I think it sort of just looks like "insert generic Japanese sporty car picture here." Nissan Z, Toyota GR86, etc. Not a bad look, but nothing particularly unique. JMO.
  20. 0.8" in NW Travis last night. Better than a sharp stick in the eye. Not counting on Beryl for anything around Austin though. Instead it's gonna dump all over areas that have already had too much rain. Ugh.
  21. Agreed. It's also our go-to for crawfish when in season.

    Euro 2024

That was fun! Hoping for more in the next match.
  23. I like Tennessee in general and am looking forward to watching Texas play against them in the SEC. I rarely (never?) interact with Tennessee fans in real life and I don't frequent any internet forums where I'd find them, so don't expect any hostile interactions. This answer in that reddit thread was pretty funny though:
