But I do find it hilarious that the assholes of surly jump all over a place like Torchy's for being gringo tacos with the high prices and non-traditional fillings, but are AOK with summer squash and duck confit tacos that cost $10 each...
I mean, it's cheaper than traveling to Oaxaca and getting the same dishes and drinks...
Anyway, I'm still a fan of Fonda, it's great for date night or taking out of town guests.
Can't stand the flavor of corn in the actual chili. Don't like it in beer, either.
With cornbread or fritos is completely different, it's not integrated.
I actually don't like the flavor of masa in chili, which is another reason I prefer to use whole rehydrated chiles for both depth of flavor, and natural thickening agency.
Not in the past couple of years. They just pick one of them lately and run it all month.
I had the October TOTM, the Japanese-inspired one called Ronin, and it was really tasty. Maybe a little smaller but not by a ton. I mean, there are only so many sized of store-bought tortillas to choose from...
