  1. Central Texas will get nothing and like it.
  2. WTF is wrong with you, I35?
  3. Clearly the solution is right there in front of them-- Bubble Harder!!!
  4. I would LOVE for someone to ask Casey to show the math to her assertion that aggy has more money than Texas. I'm sure she was basing this on the money they borrowed for capital improvement projects that they somehow claimed as income, but how the fuck does she claim that with a straight face? Yeah they all base their claims off that one year of financials where they claimed capital fundraising as revenue from operations, and not only was that an incorrect way to report their financials but it was also just for one year, which occurred many many years ago at this point. But they've hung their redpot on it for years now.
  5. 1.21
  6. Yeah a great electrical storm at my house but no rain. Glad for those of you that got some, though.

Agree, we live relatively close to the one in CP and it's good. Very good happy hour prices on several items as well. Haven't been to the one in Lakeway but I hear it's also good.

All I ever had from Champ was the trinity, and it was excellent.
  9. Should be good. That was the normal weekend for a friend's annual boil, pre-pandemic.

Yes SS in CP open for dinner, they occasionally run out of something by dinnertime but they should still be pretty well sorted. Condolences for the loss of your friend. Two in the last month? No offense but I'm glad I'm not one of your friends...
  11. Oh yeah, and it's especially embarrassing for them when there are also engineers and business managers from Stanford or MIT or Harvard or or whatever. It's so cringey. Yup they do that too. In business meetings, in church, pretty much anywhere. It's just some redass good bull.
  12. Yes, it's equally stupid which is why I don't use it. But like @jimmyjazz said, it's a small minority of Texas fans on a couple of message boards in a tiny corner of the internet. Aggies use "tu" ubiquitously, in pretty much all social situations, including and especially when it's awkward or completely inappropriate-- for example business meetings with people from a wide variety of educational backgrounds that don't understand and don't care about any silly regional college rivalries.
  13. They might start by actually just calling it UT or Texas. Having a specific pejorative name for tu just underscores the little brother mentality. Even when they're arguing to establish their own identity, they just can't help but undermine it with little brotherisms. It's in their DNA and I don't suspect it will ever change.
  14. We got a sack from Fiesta and did a boil on Saturday, they were still pretty small but I don't think I had to toss a single one as bad.

This Daily Texan thread-- which is supposed to be a "news" thread about the goings-on in China-- has been coopted by a known ledge-jumping raving lunatic pushing his own political ideology and agenda, over and over and over again. I'm going to have to disagree that the comments and the conversation aren't political. The thread-shitting is tired and incredibly annoying. I don't ever go to the cloak room because I have no desire for a political discussion on this message board forum. But I have to imagine there are plenty of threads discussing these exact topics, over there, in the appropriate forum for them.

JFC take it to the goddamn cloak room you half-witted ledge-jumping gooftard.
  18. Red Rubis are the best!

The Pits were all franchised with very little oversight and had wildly different quality from site to site. Richard Jones owned a few but most of the others were single-owners. Some of them were actually pretty good.

Other Austin BBQ joints in the 80s and 90s were Ironworks, Poke-E-Jo's, Green Mesquite, and various locations of The Pit.
  21. Beach volleyball, imo
  22. If you're referring to armybrat, I believe his great great grandkids fought in the Spanish-American war.
  23. I have to work today but we'll be taking our trailer out to my BIL's property outside of Fredericksburg this week. Just gonna chill, ride the ATVs, have bonfires, shoot guns, drink whiskey. The usual. Well, the kids probably won't drink whiskey. Probably... Edited-- well, maybe not bonfires under current conditions. Might just be the propane fire ring, but we'll still manage.
  24. Sorry about all the troubles. Boating and RVing, just a huge money sink. But I wouldn't want to live without 'em. Enjoy the coast!
