  1. I remember being surprised and thinking Lewis had made a big mistake. I also thought Apple was dead when the Newton bombed.
  2. Bravo! This non-sequitur brought to you by Marijuana!
  3. I mean, aren't we eventually going to run out of vintage clothing to resell? And THEN what? Mark my words, the custom-tailored vintage clothing Chinese knockoff market is about to explode. Best get in on the ground floor...
  4. Mercedes-- another black car with a stripe of color. trollface.gif
  5. You can thank that asshole, Eric Moreland, and his merry band of investor idiots, for that.
  6. Late to the party as usual. I'm no speed demon but in high school I took my friend's dad's 450SL up to 120 on 360. It was the late 80s and there were pretty much no stoplights on it, at all. It was dumb and that seems to have gotten it out of my system, but for one shining moment, I was a golden god.

  8. Seems really weird arguing over Austin's lack of Michelin-starred restaurants when the recurring theme across multiple threads on this site is that Austin is decreasing in quality and fun precisely because it's becoming too expensive and pretentious... ...but this place is surly and it's full of assholes so there you have it. I'm also not sure an "Austin WTF is wrong with you thread" should be limited solely to crimes of the citizens and their elected officials, but this ain't my site and when the boss says cool it then you cool it. I'll meet y'all over on the "Old Austin is dead because it has no Michelin-starred restaurants" thread!
  9. It's all part of the game. Texas has to say the SEC invited us. If Texas officials say "it was a mutual discussion that was occurring through back-channels for three years before anyone outside the close circle ever became aware of it," that has potential undesirable legal ramifications for UT.
  10. I like fun, interesting, and diverse sets of livery. The sport is also a show and that's an important part of it. Sure, I would trade being stuck with 20 all-exposed-carbon-fiber cars for more competition for 1st place, but that's a different discussion for me.
  11. Well the AlphaTauri/Visa Cash App car is pretty different, and in a good way, but yeah most teams aren't shaking it up. I expect the RBR to look basically the same, so I guess the only remaining question is, will the Silver Arrows be black this year, or not?

    Twisters

Twister, and then Gladiator a few years later. Absolutely the movies we used to shake the walls in the house every time we upgraded our surround sound systems.
  13. ACC? No thanks. FSU or Clemson, okay. But unless you're talking basketball, nope to the rest of them.
  14. Only 0.1" so far up here in NW Travis but the forecasts are calling for heavier stuff in the 11-1 PM range. Bring it on.
  15. Every time I bothered trying it, their beer tasted like they never cleaned and sterilized their equipment.
  16. That car is everywhere I want to be!
  17. <Holy Grail>But you see... we've already got one!</Holy Grail> And of course, ours is sponsored by Alienware...
  18. Reminds me of that pleasant STR livery from a few years back. I'm cool with it. Definitely WAY better than the "natural" carbon fiber cars we've seen so far.
  19. OK, git your Jeep and start the mods, then post pics! We've probably done all the mods we're going to. About a year ago we wore out the stock tires and moved up to 35s. You can do that on a stock Rubicon because it already comes with a bit of a factory lift compared to the other trim packages. I think some of the brand-new Rubis are even coming with 35s as a factory option, I'm guessing it's as a result of competition with the new Bronco. That competition is good, Jeep had been resting on its laurels for quite some time, with really no other true competitors in the same market space. Now the Bronco is pushing Jeep designers to change and innovate.
  20. I've driven I/Os my whole life and I can pretty much put them anywhere on a dime. When we got our current X45 it was a huge and lengthy lesson in humility, learning how to maneuver that large inboard. And as y'all have mentioned, that "large" boat is pretty small compared to modern towboats. It's crazy.
