  1. My BIL has a decent chunk of land outside of Fredericksburg, so we're hauling our RV trailer out there for the weekend. They've got a Barndominium on it now, so I'll actually get to see what one of things really is, in real life. The parents-in-law will stay in that, the BIL will have his own 5th-wheel there, and we're making a small family reunion out of it. I actually love their whole family and it should be a great time.
  2. Maybe it's a combination of things. Maybe Lewis really has wanted to drive for Ferrari and he knows his years are numbered. Maybe Toto is trying to create a clean succession for new drivers when Lewis moves on and, potentially, when Toto himself moves on from direct involvement as the Team Principle. Perhaps this is actually giving us a glimpse into the timing of moves and the future of Merc in general? Just throwing stuff at the wall...
  3. Just makes no sense, at all.
  4. I'm in LISD, but same thing. We're going to Fredericksburg for the weekend, and we'll have the kids out of school all day on Monday.
  5. Exactly the same for me. This adaptation looks like it'll be good, I'd love to see them do Tai Pan and Noble House next.
  6. And Spa, Monza, and Silverstone won't be among them.
  7. We need a +1 barf emoji rep choice.
  8. I hadn't heard they'd built a new purpose-built F1-certified race course in Chicago. That should be great!
  9. And thereby avoiding the dangers that result from combining surf AND turf:
  10. Responses above in red. Enjoy your Jeep!
  11. I haven't watched this race in a while but I don't remember this many issues this early, on a dry track in the daylight. This isn't normal, is it?
  12. The SEC is only going to go to 9 conference games, when ESPN is ready to pay for it.
  13. OK so it looks like I'll still be able to watch a decent amount of this on NBC and USA, without having Peacock. I haven't followed WEC/IMSA/Sportscar racing in a while, but there are some really good looking driver lineups especially in the GTP classification (I'm assuming this is what used to be LMP1?). So... who's the favorite in each classification? TV Coverage for those interested: 62nd Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. Saturday, January 27, 2024, 1:30 p.m. ET to Sunday, January 28, 1:30 p.m. ET. 3.56-mile racing circuit. Broadcast coverage of the race starts from 1:30–2:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. From that point until 8 p.m., coverage will move to Peacock and USA, and then Peacock and IMSA.TV from 8–10 p.m. Coverage returns to USA and Peacock from 10-midnight, then back to Peacock and IMSA.TV until 6 a.m. From 6 a.m.–noon, coverage will be on USA and then will transition a final time to NBC for the last two hours of coverage. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/g46517053/24-hours-of-daytona-what-to-know-see-watch/
  14. Matching steel + teak benches sound bad-ass. #TeamTeak
  15. That dude's gonna get killed when someone changes lanes at the last second and doesn't see him coming.
  16. Same here, never charged for more, not once, ever. If they're charging someone, that person is probably a real ahole.
  17. In 2005 Texas beat the hell out of OU 45-12 in the Cotton Bowl and then the next day Dallas beat the hell out of the hated Eagles 33-10 at Texas Stadium. My group attended both games and that was one glorious weekend, I can tell you.
  18. No you are correct. The NCAA has zero involvement in any of the FBS post-season (other than the rulebook that is used to govern the games, I suppose).
  19. The #1 dinner comes with a taco pre-plate.
  20. It's the Vic Mackey tribute thread.
  21. I always order the #2 to keep folks on their toes.
  22. Well to be fair, there are already plenty of places making fancy-schmancy enchiladas. It's just not places like EyM or Dart Bowl. But yeah, point well taken. I really don't want the Comida Regular to start selling for $45, so I'll just keep my stupid mouth shut from now on.
  23. Unfortunately it really wasn't. There were some decent 3+ inch totals right over Lake Travis, but not near enough fell out west, around Fredericksburg. And almost nothing fell in the Buchanan watershed. Austin proper got a lot of rain which is great, everybody needs it. But to really make any impact to the lakes, this whole event needed to be about 40 miles further to the WNW, and needed to be about twice as much. I know, Debbie Downer. But Austin proper needed rain too. Everybody in Texas does.
  24. Yeah no kidding. You brilliant son-of-a-bitch! Make it so. Seriously. Daniel Vaughn started out by blogging about BBQ and gathering enough of a following, that TM eventually created a new position and picked him as the BBQ editor. There's no reason the same thing couldn't happen for Tex-Mex and, more specifically, enchiladas. (Edit: And yeah I know TM ranked BBQ before Daniel Vaughn, but now it's been more standardized and publicized. No reason some surlyite couldn't become TM's new Enchilada Emperador)
