  1. And he directed "Rush" which as I recall had a racy scene with Natalie Dormer and/or Olivia Wilde? It's been a while since I saw it.
  2. Ferrari or Andretti? Yes please. Otherwise-- the man deserves some peace, let him retire!
  3. Any rain is better than no rain, but these stream flows need to be up in the multiple thousands, to make a dent in the lakes. Now, if we could get two solid weeks of this, we'd be talking.
  4. One of the main problems for them is that this is NOT true. The message is fractured and scattered. There are some pushing for divestiture. Some simply want a "Free Palestine." There are others coopting the protests for a more inflammatory anti-Israeli stance, and then some just wandering around yelling "oink like a piggie oink oink." But I do agree that, for those that are actually protesting in favor of divestiture, they're doing it wrong, in the wrong place, to the wrong people, in the wrong way, and they're letting themselves get overrun and drowned out by the idiots.
  5. It's Always Sunny (in Philadelphia)
  6. Glenn Miller Band, Cole Porter
  7. At least some chance of rain in the forecast every day for the next 2 weeks. The Austin Forcefield is going to be doing some work.
  8. Always... no, never... forget to check your references.
  9. Ags have only won about 1/3rd of the games they've actually played against Texas, but you can rest assured they're undefeated in games never played.
  10. 30 Community Parks and Rec excluding Season 1 Modern Family Parks and Rec Season 1 HIMYM BBT
  11. Yeah I like both of them just fine, but IMO their best work is long behind them. If I weren't already going to be there for the entire weekend because of... you know... the actual race... then I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to get tickets just for these musical acts.
  12. Nope, the additional restaurant staff and management is exactly what people on this thread are talking about. Franklin effectively runs an extended catering operation, not a restaurant. Which is great, it works perfectly for him, and for us, the customers. Like I said, I sincerely hope Franklin never expands to dinner service, because it's highly likely to get messed up.
  13. Shipping/preorder is even easier to get right, zero waste and time it exactly as you like. Expanding hours to dinner service is what people are talking about. And Franklin hasn't done it. I hope he never does.
  14. Definite surly motto material.
  15. It's never going to stop raining.
  16. Eh. I love Austin especially because it IS in Texas. It's part of the character of the city. If you dropped it into any other state it wouldn't be the same.
  17. Nice. We're doing this:
  18. Sadly, no. I mean, any rain is better than nothing, but this won't make even a tiny dent in the lakes. It would have to be roughly 10x this amount, across an area about 10x wider, and over 10x as many days, to move the needle on the lakes. Unfortunately, not really exaggerating there.
  19. Uhhh... I'm not sure you understand the premise of this thread. We're delighted that you love California. The thread for people who prefer California is over there ---->
  20. Food, local travel, and music are among the top things to love about Austin. Seems pretty natural they'd all feature prominently in a thread like this. On that note, another thing I love about Austin... Bob Schneider at the Saxon Pub:
  21. I like Conan's much much much better than Desanos, but it's an entirely different style of pizza. Deep dish Savage on whole wheat is the Truth.
  22. He's joking. Check the "Burgers" thread in the Austin food subforum. HJ is there gobbling down burgers probably at least 10x per month, when he's not at Sour Duck doing the same.
  23. I can't quit Austin and I can't quit Conan's. It's amazing to me that the Anderson/Burnet location is almost identical to how it was when I was in high school decades ago.
