  1. Stiles Switch and Terry Black's both have full dining rooms and full dining hours, so they're a good choice for BBQ at dinner. Minimal lines at both except at peak lunch hour and even then it might only be 20 people in line. Not sure about downtown brunch or lunch. For Tex-Mex, Enchiladas y Mas

    Tex Mex

Yeah Mama Betty's is decent. Don't love their Tex-Mex enchilada con carne gravy but it's okay. They have other things on the menu that are better.
  3. Yup. But, they DO do it, every year in December. Some of the other "12 days" specials change up, but the chicken fried beef rib is a staple. So tasty, so ridiculous. Had the smoked chicken and dumplings today and really liked it. They have these Christmas specials dialed in. Don't think I can make it tomorrow but I'll be back on Sunday for the gumbo.
  4. Amen brutha! Like I said earlier, good Lord willing, my dream scenario is that Texas beats Washington in the Sugar Bowl, then Michigan in the championship game, thus claiming the conference championship titles of the B12, SEC, PAC, and B1G. Then we should challenge Florida State to a game a week later and take the ACC crown, too!
  5. I think all 4 teams in the CFP deserve their spots, I think they ARE the 4 best teams in the country right now, and I think any one of them could beat any other. That's going to make this year's CFP a lot of fun. It'll obviously be even more fun for us, if the Horns win. But if not, it's still been a fantastic season, and one I'll remember fondly forever. It's not like Texas has been just piling up the football conference championship trophies lately. This one is special and meaningful. Now, let's see the team go beat the shit outta U-Dub.
  6. I'll be at the brewery tomorrow if any surlys end up stopping by to say "muledick." I'll be the one in a burnt orange Live Oak t-shirt...
  7. I'm married to an ag as well. Similarly, she doesn't follow anything other than watching the games, which she is very passionate about. But she also watches Longhorn games with me and will pull for Texas when we're not playing the ags. She's been indoctrinated since birth so she'll never actually switch, but she's just fine with pulling for Texas under most circumstances. She also thinks horns-down is stupid and is extra cringe when the TV shows ags doing it in games when they're not even playing us. She says, "That's what ousux is supposed to do, but not us." On second thought, maybe she will eventually come around...
  8. Live Oak Krampus Punishment Ale Our hoppy holiday ale is brewed just for you...Krampus Punishment Ale is cold-fermented and hopped with Cascade, Crystal, Centennial, and Citra hops. Munich and Red malt provide the malt flavor that balances the bitterness. It's that time of year when you receive the punishment you deserve! 6.7% ABV 70 IBU Available on Saturday at Krampusnacht!
  9. I had it yesterday as well. It's great, and way over the top. Definitely a once-per-year kind of thing. I'm actually off today so I think I'm headed back for the smoked chicken and dumplings.
  10. JFC you idiots just had to wind up the Charlie in a Box.
  11. And yet everyone says Texas is the delusional, entitled fan base. These guys are going to be really, really surprised when a tough-as-nails Texas team hits them in the mouth and fucks their shit up for 60 minutes.
  12. I've hated 'em ever since watching those hypocritical bastages dance on the Longhorn at midfield after the game in 1989. And if that doesn't get you going, there's always Grant Teaff's giftwrapped last game against us in 1992. Indeed, SO many reasons to hate them.
  13. Not being suplexed to the ground by the OL on almost every play with zero holding calls as a result, is going to help us. It's going to help a lot.
  14. Not sure why, but to treat the idiotic hot take fairly-- it's obvious that the vast majority of Longhorn fans actually like having this game at the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair. That's not the same as desperately clinging to goofy, antiquated activities for the sake of tradition. It's that we genuinely like and prefer the game there. Believe me there are numerous forces acting against the preservation of this neutral site classic, every single year. The ONLY thing keeping it there, is the fact that the fan bases genuinely, sincerely like it. That has been the common sentiment expressed on this thread, and every other Cotton Bowl/TX-OU thread in the long history of surly/shaggy/hornfans/austin360/etc. It stays there, because the vast majority of fans want it there. Otherwise, it'd be super easy and convenient to change it to a home and home.
  15. Alabama had a decent showing but hardly took over the stadium. LSU and its alumni base are a lot closer and they had a good showing but still didn't take over the stadium. Why would a Georgia fan think they'd be any different? When you've already sold 68,000 seats as season tickets, it's gonna make it pretty hard for any other team to come in and take over.
  16. Man, look at that chart and check out Washington's penix.
  17. Lulz, the ags whose 2022 class's dirty bags of cash absolutely broke the market ceiling and screwed everyone else and themselves, now find the out-stretched hands of recruits and portal players, to be "gross." They're largely responsible for creating this mess, but now when it's working against them, it's "gross." Get bent.
  18. You should do it. You could make a lot of money off those rubes if you beat looch to market.
  19. I don't think a move to Jerryworld has ever been a real threat. I can't imagine that the big money donor/luxury suite owners at both Texas and OU, who have never had the pleasure of watching and hosting our biggest game of the year from their own luxury suites, would be very keen on having to go hat in hand and begging Jerry for the favor of renting one of his suites for the game. Nope, I expect the game would move to home and home if it ever left the Cotton Bowl. The big money donors would make sure of it. And since I don't want that to happen, I'm delighted with this current contract extension and agreement for further stadium improvements.
  20. Yup the cooling function is awesome too.
  21. Hey remember all of the SEC fans telling us that the SEC was going to start dictating conditions on where the TX-OU game is played? Yeah, no.
  22. Yeah I guess it's a new thing. My 2015 F150 Platinum has the most comfortable seats I've ever had in a vehicle. The Tahoe I had previously was okay but the F150 is better. Plus it has the seat-heater and massager built in. It's like taking a spa day whilst driving my truck.
  23. Sure but hindsight's 20/20. Those two conversations were a year apart. Arguably, having already brought in Cincy, UCF, and UH, is what stabilized the B12 enough to be able to capitalize on the PAC's collapse a year later.
  24. ^^^^^^^^^^^ All that dude had to say, was generic stuff like that, and everything would be fine. I actually don't think he's a terrible conference commissioner, he's doing everything he can to keep the B12 relevant, which is his job. He outmaneuvered and outlasted the PAC, and since there are really no further poachable teams in the B12, he's going to outlast the ACC too, ultimately. All he had to do, was NOT act like an asshole to his conference's best brand, even if it's a departing brand. Anyway, the B12 office rejected our appeal on the targeting call, so I guess he got the last laugh. Goodbye, and good luck.
