  1. Yeah and it wouldn't be able to fly as a legitimate NIL deal, so it would have to be a bag under the table. In which case, there's no difference between now and the past 100 years when any booster at one program COULD potentially pay an opponent not to play.
  2. Wow. Who is "Coach Glove" talking about, at A&M?
  3. Yup. I had no idea it was even raining anywhere in Austin, being up here in NW Travis, until AUS-97Horn mentioned it yesterday. It was just sort of cloudy here.
  4. Yeah that was a weird, very localized storm. The vast majority of Greater Austin got nothing, but Lanier High School seems to have taken the length at 2.24".
  5. I like Roll Call better as well, but the Vandy Pimp is great. I want to see Vandy win a lot this season just to ensure he remains. Not against Texas though, of course. We've got a 3-8-1 record to start avenging.

  7. Look, you've shared your opinions, and clearly the vast majority of responding posters have disagreed with you. I have no idea why some Texas fans insist on acting like they're above this rivalry. Rivalries are the lifeblood of college football and one of the few remaining reasons why it's different and better than the professional version of the sport. This IS a rivalry. It's a lopsided one to be sure, but the 1,538 page thread on the main football board, along with this 548 page thread on the recruiting board, prove that Texas fans DO care about the game. You might not and that's fine, but you're in the minority and there aren't many who agree with you. As for the highlighted section, I haven't seen anyone suggesting that. I'm not sure where you're getting it? But it's a silly hypothetical anyway. If Texas isn't capable of beating THIS aggie team, then Texas isn't going to win the national championship anyway.
  8. Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies all time, every Halloween I do a big Beetlejuice themed yard. Saw this one on Sunday and really enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun. I liked the callbacks and also liked that this story was new and different. Really glad to see it being so well received by the public, too.
  9. Add in the death of some rapper two decades ago and you've hit all the relevant excuses.
  10. I think this has got to be my least favorite circuit on the tour. I fast forwarded through most of the race and I NEVER do that. Just a beating.
  11. I'm mysterious and elusive, I'm here, I'm there, then I'm not. Always leave the fans wanting more. Actual answer-- an all day marching band competition is keeping me away. Your little one will probably someday have activities that keep you away from drinking delicious beer at wonderful breweries. Or maybe not, maybe you'll make better life choices than I have,
  12. My dislike for mesquite comes from my own experimentation with it. I've tried it and I just don't enjoy the flavor for a long smoke, plus it burns a little hotter and faster and is tougher to control. So I avoid it. However, for grilling steaks, I think it's fantastic. I'll take small mesquite splits, burn them down to coals, and then put the steaks on. The mesquite is strong enough to influence the flavor, even during the quick duration of a steak sear.
  13. Really wish they could keep him on until after the USGP. He's always so much fun in Austin.

  16. We already knew that Russians were orcs, but now Ukraine has actually turned Russia into Mordor.
  17. Ignore List and Mayo talk not going away.
  18. Ags can't even stay healthy through the Southland Conference FCS grind, they've got no business talking about the SEC.
  19. We went with an inspector who had an added specialty in pools when we bought our current house 12 years ago. Luckily the pool was built well before all of this crap began. But right now, I wouldn't be surprised if even the inspectors that previously held a specific specialty in pool inspections, are refusing to do so, for fear of being held liable in situations like this. That's one way to go, or then there's these shipping container pools that are gaining in popularity right now:
  20. Well, they might also have to pay for the demolition of the existing non-usable giant piece of shit that currently sits in their yard. Luckily for my friend who has a giant piece of shit in his backyard that he signed the papers for during the 2020 pandemic, broke ground on in early 2021, and had never been able to use it because it started falling apart before final inspection-- the builder (who is Cody Pools) is finally though with all of their attempts at bullshit half-measure fixes, is through with their lawyers, is through with the insurance, and is finally going to start tearing it down to rebuild it from scratch, before the end of the year. He's one of the lucky ones, tons of people are being turned away, given the runaround, or the smaller pool companies they used, have gone bankrupt and vanished into the winds.
  21. It was less confusing when they had a separate call for spearing that was not a part of the targeting call. But yeah, spearing is still against the rules and the rule exists to discourage defensive players from lowering their heads and causing injury to themselves. I
