  1. Yeah I'd heard that was coming your way. Hang in there! (No, I mean literally, hang in there and try not to slide down a mountainside...)
  2. Just rewatched Part 1 with the family, already have tickets to Part 2 on opening weekend. My body is ready.
  3. State laws govern NIL, the NCAA never can, nor can any other body that the conferences try to put together to standardize it. The states aren't ever going to bother standardizing so only a federal law could, and I doubt we ever see one.
  4. Oh, and for the past few years, Bestop has run a mail-in rebate program in the spring/early summer. Between $100-$150 off with proof of purchase. We got $150 back on ours 3 years ago. So if you end up deciding to go that route, start looking for the rebates to show up in March or April. Hopefully they'll renew the program this year.
  5. Oh I'm sure that Ferrari engineering and "strategy" will still provide the lulz.
  6. I like having both a hard top and a soft top. We usually run the hard top in DEC-FEB, and use the soft top the rest of the year. Aftermarket soft tops run from $1,000 to $2,000. Bestop makes the OEM version that brand new Jeeps ship with, and most folks (including me) recommend sticking with Bestop for aftermarket. This is the one we have, I like the sporty slant-back better than the OG squared back, but it's totally a matter of personal preference. https://www.extremeterrain.com/bestop-trek-nx-glide-soft-top-blk-twill-4dr-0717-jk.html
  7. Wi nøt trei a høliday in Sweden this yër ?
  8. Yeah I get it and that sucks. If we didn't have a "private land" option and I were staring at $1000/night reservations, I'd be really frustrated too. People, man. I hate 'em. (Not y'all of course but, ya know, OTHER people...)
  9. Since rumors broke early, and from credible sources, and were ultimately true-- I don't think it's unreasonable to believe they had more to do with the increase. I'm not sure it's normal for a luxury brand to increase by 12.6% in one day, or even 10% in one day, based solely on an earnings release from a prior quarter...
  10. Ferrari stock jumped 12.6% yesterday, that's something like $9 billion. They also had higher than expected earnings in Q4, but that's not what's drives a 12.6% jump in one day. Just... wow. https://www.investors.com/news/ferrari-bolts-on-earnings-lands-formula-1-legend-lewis-hamilton/#:~:text=Ferrari (RACE),-%24389.45 43.53 12.58&text=Ferrari stock leapt 12.6% Thursday, record high from Dec. 11.

  12. I think it's easy for modern people in our modern world to be a little jaded about occurrences like this. Humankind has built so many cool things, and can model so many cool things, and can simulate so many cool things, and can design so many cool things, that "being dark for a few minutes" might not seem like a big deal. But I try to view it the way humans hundreds or even thousands of years ago would have. This is a highly uncommon extraterrestrial, celestial event. Humans can't make it happen, it's beyond our range, scope, and power. All we can do is observe. That's a pretty powerful feeling, in my opinion. I'm excited about it. It'll be a welcome break from working for the man or arguing about foreign wars or who should start at QB (obviously Chiles should starts). It's a completely natural event so why not enjoy the show for a little bit?
  13. The "Not Formula1" thread is over there ---------> (just kidding, I love rally racing, those guys are nuts)
  14. Upgrades perhaps, but preferential strategy? At Ferrari? What does that even mean? Maybe, they actually bring out 3 of the 4 tires for a tire change, rather than zero? I'm kidding of course but I don't think getting "preferential strategy" at Ferrari would really lead to any competitive advantage for one driver over another.
  15. That doesn't seem like nearly enough ingredients for a Torchy's taco...
  16. So, as I said...

  18. All of that, plus they know the ags aren't a competitive threat to the established powers in the B1G, they'd just be using TAMU for the recruiting and television access. You know, the exact same reasoning the SEC realized a decade ago.
  19. Sure! "Hey bro, the internet people are coming. If anyone arrives on the property and yells out 'muledick' you'll know they've arrived!" Heck, I bet he'd cut you a discount and only charge $995/night!
  20. My BIL has a decent chunk of land outside of Fredericksburg, so we're hauling our RV trailer out there for the weekend. They've got a Barndominium on it now, so I'll actually get to see what one of things really is, in real life. The parents-in-law will stay in that, the BIL will have his own 5th-wheel there, and we're making a small family reunion out of it. I actually love their whole family and it should be a great time.
  21. Maybe it's a combination of things. Maybe Lewis really has wanted to drive for Ferrari and he knows his years are numbered. Maybe Toto is trying to create a clean succession for new drivers when Lewis moves on and, potentially, when Toto himself moves on from direct involvement as the Team Principle. Perhaps this is actually giving us a glimpse into the timing of moves and the future of Merc in general? Just throwing stuff at the wall...
  22. Just makes no sense, at all.
  23. I'm in LISD, but same thing. We're going to Fredericksburg for the weekend, and we'll have the kids out of school all day on Monday.
  24. Exactly the same for me. This adaptation looks like it'll be good, I'd love to see them do Tai Pan and Noble House next.
