Tell Me About Texas a&m
Well I wasn't really bragging, originally I was providing the reason for why the ag game got bumped in favor of ours. But I do find it amusing that even in a bad year we continue to obliterate their ratings.

Both. Sports Media Watch posts the ratings each week, and then I've summed them up for UT and TAMU. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/

2025 Thread of the Rains
Austin area school districts are moving up football kickoff times and/or outright canceling events. So you know that absolutely nothing will happen.

Halloween bullshit
Put the finishing touches on this year's decorations the past couple of days. Halloween's a Friday this year so we're expecting a pretty huge crowd, I'm guessing we'll pass out 500-800 pieces. Mostly the same over the past few years, I've added a few set pieces.'''

- Game Week 8: Texas at MSST
I'm not worried about the ags or pigs. Home games are gonna be good for us. Georgia, on the other hand...- Texas BBQ
Maybe they've improved? I gave them a couple of shots within a few months of their opening, since I'm at Hopfields quite a bit anyway, and it was pretty much Bill Miller quality. At the time they were bringing everything in from Lockhart, commissary style, and it tasted like cafeteria BBQ. If they've improved since then, good for them.- Game Week 8: Texas at MSST
I think we're going to play Vanderbilt a lot better than some expect. NOT having to travel 1000+ miles, as the team did against tOSU, Florida, and Kentucky, is going to make a difference. Pre-season everyone talked about the massive amount of travel this team would face and sort of shrugged it off. That was silly. It absolutely makes a difference.- SEC Refs Suck
Well at least we saw the TV crew replay this controversial call from multiple angles.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
Through week 7, games involving Texas had brought in over 33 million total viewers in games to date. Games involving Texas A&M had brought in just over 12 million. And that includes their prime time game against Notre Dame. It's not some mystery or conspiracy as to why the Ags got bumped for the Longhorns.- Overrated Austin restaurants?
Skirt steak was $0.59/lb as recently as the early 90s when I started cooking it as a poor young college kid. And yes, Chili's did indeed ruin it for all of us. You can still find brisket $2.50/lb occasionally and when you do, you should load up on it and chunk it into your deep freezer. I have 3 or 4 in there right now. But it's been years since I saw it for $0.99/lb, probably a year or two before the pandemic was the last time I saw that, at least in Austin.- 2025 Thread of the Rains
Indeed. It's never going to rain again.- Русский корабль - иди нахуй
It's semantics of course. Urging Ukraine to "freeze hostilities along the current front" necessitates giving up the areas that Russia has invaded. It's effectively the same as suggesting Ukraine give up Donbas.- Beer 2025: Merry Christmas Everyone, Including the Haters and Losers
A couple of weeks ago my wife got excited and brought home a 4-pack of pumpkin tallies from someone or another. I don't ever want to discourage her from buying and bringing me beer, so I opened a couple of them and poured them into glasses for us. She took one sip, grimaced, put the glass down. She waited 5 or 10 minutes, took another sip, and just shook her head. "Nope." I smiled and shrugged and said something like, "Well, they can't all be winners. But you know what's always great in the fall? Oktoberfest!" A couple days later, there were multiple varieties in the fridge-- Live Oak Oaktoberfest, Haker-Pschorr Oktoberfest, Ayinger Oktoberfest, and another one I can't recall. She's a good woman.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
Game is in Baton Rouge, LSU has yet to lose a home game against the Ags since they joined the SEC, even when LSU has fielded mediocre-to-bad teams. This year won't be any different.- New Orleans Food and Drink Thread

Let's hope so. I'd hate for the 8-4 dream to perish just because Mizzou couldn't get it up...- New Orleans Food and Drink Thread
If you want to stick around in the Quarter, I've watched several football games at the The Corner Oyster House off Jackson Square, right at the corner of St. Peter and Decatur. They have enough TVs that you can probably catch whichever games you're interested in. Food and drinks are good enough, pretty standard New Orleans fare.- The Running Man (2025)
