  1. Yup, well done Mr. Martin. You were the closest. There was only one poster who predicted a Texas loss. Averaging all predictions, for 110 entries, surlyhorns predicted : Texas 37.9 ousux 16.1

    RIP Chuy's

I always thought of Chuy's and El Arroyo and Trudy's as Aus-Mex rather than Tex-Mex. They had some good dishes, but the standard cheese enchiladas with brown gravy con carne was not among them. As long as you stuck with their specialties and didn't really think of it as true Tex-Mex, you'd do okay.
  3. Looks like pretty decent weather for the weekend. We've had far worse. I love going for my morning runs around the track when it's in the upper 50s early morning, it's a pretty amazing feeling.
  4. Print it on a plastic cup. Ags love that shit.
  5. It makes the takes coming from the Sooner message boards look downright sane and reasonable. I never thought that was possible.
  6. Sounds like an awesome topic for some forum that is not the Texas Longhorns football forum.
  7. Right smack in the middle of the demographic that attends UT football games, sounds like an appropriate selection to me.
  8. Gonna be zero pretty soon. Only took what, 24 hours for surly to break him and watch his bitchassedness flow? It's not a record but that's pretty quick.
  9. The problem is that your shit is weak. You're not cutting it here. You're gonna have to get better, or you'll get gone. Still, if you're coming to Austin, be sure to spend a lot of money and keep it weird. Oilcan Harry's is the best bar for out-of-towners, have fun.
  10. Nah lots of losers cheat too. Texas A&M's cheated for decades and is still nothing more than an 8-4 team.
  11. Eh this current MSU team challenged the Horns for a half in Austin, and Texas is far better than the ags. They challenged Georgia in Athens and only lost by 10, and Georgia is far better than the ags.
  12. Why would you say that? Better A&M teams than this one have lost to MSU in Starkville. The ags are 1-4 in their last 5 trips there. A full decade of futility on the road against the dreaded bulldogs.
  13. Those trophies seem like they suck.
  14. See? No way they can fire him, he's a very effective coach and his team completely listened and enacted his message.

  16. I like how he's ignoring all statistical evidence and claiming that Texas' current #1 Total Defense and #1 Scoring defense "isn't as dominant as last year's." That is a bold fabrication that is worthy of only his masterful artistry. No amateur or mere mortal could pull that off.
  17. My expectation is that many of our fans will continue to demonstrate they are complete morons.
  18. Yeah, since he's been here that's really been his standard MO. The difference is, in past years he's had a defense that would allow that 90 yard drive. This year, not so much. It's so refreshing!
  19. Sounds like you'll be okay but probably not a bad idea to get to the stadium well ahead of time and beat the crowds just in case there's an issue and you have to go to will call or something. Luckily the stadium now sells overpriced beer for your waiting pleasure.
  20. Yup I had a rough experience with Stubhub maybe 5 years ago with tickets to a football game (not a UT game). Bought them 2 weeks in advance but gameday arrived and the seller still hadn't transferred. I called their Customer Service about 2 hours before kickoff and was told the seller wasn't required to transfer the tickets until something like 30 minutes before the event, despite the fact that Stubhub had accepted my money 2 weeks prior. I didn't recall that policy from the purchase page but it's entirely possible that I just overlooked it. Regardless it's a terrible policy because my plan was to get there an hour early, enter the stadium, and leisurely enjoy the club-level amenities that came with the tickets I'd already paid for. Obviously it didn't quite work out as I'd hoped. The customer service rep was trying to be as helpful as possible, had given me her direct extension so I could call if the transfer didn't occur within 30 minutes of kickoff. And, it didn't. She offered me a comp of $150 on my account for my trouble and dissatisfaction but told me there was nothing she could do to get the seller to transfer. Finally about 15 minutes before kickoff, the tickets finally transferred. We entered and got to our seats and just missed kickoff, so no great harm done but plenty of unnecessary anxiety for an experience that should have been a lot smoother. Let the buyer beware, of course. Suffice to say I've never done business with Stubhub since.
  21. Tomatillo is fine, he's fighting an uphill battle on this site full of self-proclaimed assholes but I'm sure he knows what he's gotten into. Personally I don't have anything against Georgia. Well, other than the 1984 Cotton Bowl. But that was more our fault than theirs.
  22. As I recall, that season USC and Texas went 1 and 2 wire to wire. So the first, last, and only time Texas was #1, was in the final poll. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_rankings
