  1. I've always found "bar" law to be weird in other states. Oklahoma has a rule where you can't sit at the bar unless you're 21. Utah for awhile had a rule where a bartender couldn't make a drink in front of you. They either had to go to the back or put up something called a "zion curtain" which is just frosted glass that hides drinks being mixed. Washington State has a bar area that includes seating around the actual bar. I was in Seattle a few months ago and I got carded for water. They told me I could only sit at the bar if I was 21 but I wasn't at the bar I was at a table near the bar. I guess state law doesn't recognize a difference between a bar area and the actual bar. Really weird.
  2. I guarantee you there will be a few on that jury who won't accept the industry standard and will convict on the basis you never fire a gun at a target you're not willing to kill. Or maybe I would just be a bad jury member? I can't move past "all guns are always loaded all the time" being taught to me from a young age all the way to today in my 30s.
  3. Bad Axe. It's on the short list for the Best Documentary category at this year's Oscars. It was well made and brought back a ton of pandemic memories. It gets a little political towards the end but overall a great watch.
  4. Found myself on Midway Rd in Dallas so I thought I'd give it a shot. Haven't been to this location in years and wow let me tell ya, I think Luby's really is on its final leg. This particular location used to be pretty upscale and bright on the inside. Not anymore. Very dark dining area with almost no lighting minus the afternoon sun. They replaced the golden walls with a dark blue and brown theme. It didn't feel like the Luby's I grew up with. Food was still good.
  5. I've probably talked about this before so SIAP but I need to get this off my chest. I'm seriously considering getting out of community health care. I really feel like these past 3 years have destroyed any enjoyment I had in my professional life and I find it bleeding into my personal life. Before the pandemic I was having second thoughts about my professional life. I had left a corporate job where I was being denied promotion and advancement for a different non-corporate gig that was less stressful. But this job became more stressful than my other one and I felt like I had hit a plateau rather than rising up like before. Pandemic came rolling around and I took it as a sign that maybe this is what I was put here to do. Since then everything has gone downhill. Haven't had a raise in 4 years, the public doesn't view me as a hero (if anything there's a very vocal crowd that thinks I'm evil because I give the vaccine), people are angrier and less patient (no pun intended), and I'm just finding myself getting more frustrated by my workload and who I have to deal with. I'm exhausted 24/7. I wake up at 6am every day tired, go to work and get yelled at all day by people who don't understand their health insurance plan, and then come at 6pm totally wiped out. I'm going to bed at 8pm, 8:30pm, 9pm and I usually stay up until 10. Wife wants to tell me stories about her day at work and I have almost no interest in any of it. I just want to wind down and go to bed. I don't know how I can make this a long term career. I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel as a health care professional working for the public. I really want to make a change but to be honest, it terrifies me. I'm terrified that it would be a mistake and that if I stuck it out further it might work out in the end. Terrified that other areas of health care will view me as damaged goods and unworthy. Terrified of disappointing family. Terrified of disappointing myself. By the way this is NOT a cry for help. I'm not in any danger of self harm or anything like that. I just needed to vent. Thanks for reading.
  6. I love the Alaska Lounge but nowadays it's totally full. Even the one in Anchorage at midnight is almost always waitlisted just to get in
  7. Was the escape coordinated by the Grand Prairie cobra?
  8. Is TCU about to get the 2012 Notre Dame treatment?
  9. What euro sites are you talking about?
  10. McConaughey had a good interview with the statesman about that. I like his line "don't be turning here into why you left there".
  11. I absolutely love hazy, rainy football. It being at the rose bowl has got to be something special. Miss the orange/purple sunset view of the San Gabriel mountains but this is great.
  12. We need to bring that uni back. Damn he looks sharp. RIP.
  13. BiB, Unforgotten, and One I have yet to find anywhere in DFW under $400.
  14. Wow lots of ticket history will need to be amended or erased.
  15. I can't wait for this craze to be over. The first 10 people in line I guarantee you are resellers. They couldn't taste the difference between bourbon and rye. It's just a money game and I'm not gonna fuel it anymore.
  16. One of the pics of Ethan and Xana show them in Steelers jerseys. I don't know much about Idaho or really where these 2 are from. Very interesting to me that this guy was caught in Pennsylvania but it could be totally coincidental
  17. I was at that game and it was even worse seeing it in person. He put in almost no effort on those deep balls. I feel bad for shitting on Quinn for that game because X was a big reason why his completion % was dog shit.
  18. Worthy just needs to transfer to a mid major program with little success like Idaho State or Texas A&M so he can build his resume and maybe start a weight lifting routine to fix his skinny ass arms
  19. Worthy isn't XFL material. At least their receivers make an effort to catch the ball
  20. XAVIER IS BENCH WORTHY
  21. What the fuck is wrong with Worthy's arms? He looks like a damn toothpick in a football uniform. Maybe he'll develop a weight room routine at another program. Dude isn't even trying....
  22. Offense powered by jellybeans and bubble screens designed to lose yards
  23. Quinn has the dumbest throwing motion in college football. I know he's having to scramble because our o line is shitting the bed but goddamn man some of these passes and throwaways are ridiculous
  24. North Texas Bourbon Addicts. Yes this is specs on 75 and walnut
  25. Embellishment is when you tell people you were a member of the 2005 national championship team but in reality you were a trainer on the sidelines. This dude straight up lied about himself.
